We replaced our regular cat door with this cat door with microchip identification because other cats in our neighborhood have been coming into our house whenever we're not home. This new cat door fits right into the hole we cut for the old door. It works like a charm! The sound it makes when it senses the chip is very slight. After a few times, our cat no longer paid attention to the clicking sound at all. We also like that the door is 2 separate pieces instead of 3. And the flap is a clear plastic which helps our cat to look through before entering or leaving the house. Installation was super easy as well. The unit is made of high quality materials. I have spent over 6 months researching cat flaps. I wanted to be 100% happy before installing it in a double glazed glass door panel. It had to be the right one for me. I spent a lot of time reviewing cat flaps before deciding on this one. Customer service were great as I had an issue with it not recognising one of my cat's chip. Turns out his chip was defective and I'd never had known!It's worked brilliantly since. Took a little while to loosen up so that it closed properly but wasn't a problem. The curfew works really well. Don't worry your cat can always come in. It won't lock them out! Only non programmed cats can come in. It's a good size and both cats use it happily. Thoroughly recommend.

Overall, very happy with this door, saves a LOT of effort having to get up and open the door to let our cats in or out! It also keeps curious and pesky cats out, which is a huge bonus.Purchased this for our indoor/outdoor cat and installed it myself on a UPVC door. Not terribly difficult to install (used a drill and hacksaw handle), although it will need to be replaced with a standard cat flap when I move.Setting it up for the microchip reader is easy enough, however use quality batteries because the chip reader is constantly 'on' so it can unlock to let your cat in. This is a great cat door if you want to be able to set the times for your pets (and only your pets) to come and go. We can now keep our cat inside after 5:30pm, and she can easily let herself out at 5:30am, instead of yowling to wake us up to do it for her.The RFID identification of our cat was easy to set up, as were the lock times.Installation was straight forward, although the screws to mount the outside plate on were too narrow and we had buy some that fitted properly.Overall I highly recommend.

Clever neighbours / stray cats could work out how to open this door from the outside easily!!When set to in&out mode the little locks only come up on the inside so any clever cat will work out to hook its claws from the outside and pull the door towards its. Considering this cat flap has the setting to engage the little locks to also keep your cat inside why didn't they make it so all the little locks come up and down when it's set to in&out mode!!! What a complete design flaw .... Bottle line is , as soon as any unwanted visitor cat learn to hook their claws under the flap and pull it towards them this flap becomes utterly pointless!!! Utter rubbish cat flap in my opinion . Could so easily have been programmed to be perfect
Everyone is right, it's very small, but our cats are young so they were managing, awkwardly, to get through the door. The issue I have is that, for no reason, it's stopped working. Factory reset, changed batteries, reprogrammed, no joy. Just a $160 unsecured cat flap at this stage. Zero help or response from manufacturer from either calls or emails. Quite disappointing.

It was easy to program it to remember my cat's chip, plus the flap also allows you to set locking in/out times and also to lock it in/out manually, in any combination you might want. It is a bit of a faff to set the times but it is a useful function to have. If you lock it closed at a certain time it will still allow your cat to come in after that time, but won't allow it to go out again. The cat flap is a lot smaller than my other one. I had to patch the door with a piece of Masonite and then install the cat flap on that but it went off without a hitch, although it doesn’t look the best it gets the job done. I may have installed it too high but I’ll just unscrew the Masonite and drag it down a little. The cats immediately started using it properly and even the 5.2kg overweight tabby that is on a diet fits through with a little wriggle. Even cats pounding in the door trying to get in cannot. I had cats pound the other one until the flap fell right off. It was easy to program and install and the cheapest of anywhere else by about $100. The postage was fast and I have no other issues with anything relating to this door. I’m very happy with my purchase.
