They do yellow over time, so consider putting a fresh unit up every 6 years or so. Make sure the light is still blinking - good battery will make them flash for about 18 months.

These are junk. I bought 10 of these to go completely around the house to give good effect. The 3xAA battery terminals for the flashing light have ALL RUSTED through in a few months. The plastic is not uv stabilized so it starts to tarnish and go yellow at the same time the terminals rust. Forcing you to purchase more. The actual manufacturing of the unit isn't that good it's only just put together with the plastic very flimsy in critical areas as well. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON SWANN. You think oh well there not that expensive but the damage is done with people looking at the product with half the lights failing and product tarnishing/diminishing every day and then they know you use fake ones. It not worth it and personally I think they should be ashamed of this junk.
Looks like the real thing and great price. I used a 3M sticker to hold it to the ceiling rather than screwing it in.
Same as the real thing . no messy wires just 3 batteries and red light flashes every 5 seconds, as long as the batteries will last maybe a year then simply replace 3 batteries for another year
That's what I'm hoping any would-be-intruder will do! An easily fitted gadget, designed to deter such lowlifes from invading our space and certainly looks convincingly like those "real dome camera" things ... flashing light and all. Battery life? Who knows? They're still working after a couple of weeks of 24/7 with 3 AA's inserted and we have ample batteries ready to go, when needed. Regardless of that unknown operating cost, the item itself appears to be a well worthwhile investment I'm thinking.
An excellent imitation of the real product but the narrow beam of the red light limits it’s effectivenes as a deterrent.
Love this dummy. It looks real by looking at it. Definitely worth every dollar spent on it
