My dog has epilsepy and has developed a liver issue from his meds. As a result, the vet is very limited in what can be given for arthritis pain. I decided to do my own research and learnt that shark cartilage and green lipped mussels are 2 supplements recommended as a replacement to actual drugs. I purchased Swanson, Green Lipped Mussel, 500 mg after doing some research on green-lipped mussels over the course of the last several months, I had been using another brand but I got this brand on sale & it was a great deal. G.L. mussels have powerful anti-inflammatory properties have also been shown to improve gut health by contributing to the friendly bacteria found in the digestive system I have periodic GI issues & as as anti-inflammatory issues. As far as I can tell it helps. I have only taken several days of this brand so time will tell. I will update later.
I was looking for manganese supplement when I stumbled upon this. It had good reviews so I thought I gave it a try. I haven't finished the bottle yet. But I like that it's natural ingredient from mussel. When I opened up the capsules and took the inside only it tasted just like the ocean. I haven't yet seen the benefit but I'll keep taking it.
Bought two bottles of this brand Swanson for the first time and very impressed with how effective it has been for my arthritic joints. Felt a big difference compared to the several bottles of expensive glucosamine MSM+chondroitin which did nothing for me. This product has good quality ingredients at a very good price, and works! Sadly, it was out of stock for a re-order and had to get another brand, but will definitely return to Swanson.
