I was surprised by the size of the unit, with dimensions similar to the original hub. Don’t let the size fool you though, this thing is full of great features. It was a stroke of genius to redesign the hub this way. I have two of the mini hubs that are practically hidden from sight, but this simple yet attractive device is a welcome addition to a bedside table. I’m really looking forward to exploring all the features. Thanks SwitchBot.

An excellent device to control infra red devices from your smart speaker. I used this to allow me to control the power and volume of both my living room TV and sound bar after my remote started to fail. The app allows you to select from remote control templates or learn from an existing remote. This worked really well and I am now able to control them with voice commands via Alexa.As well as this the device has inbuilt temperature, humidity and light level sensors to allow for remote monitoring or to add scenes like automatic switching off devices based on temperature etc.

Bought this to upgrade from the Switchbot Hub Mini so that my Switchbot curtains could be controlled directly through the Apple Home App and Siri. With the previous Hub Mini, you had to set up all sorts of shortcut routines in the iPhone shortcut app to be able to control the switchbot curtains with Siri, and these shortcuts generally worked, but like 75% of time (meaning you would occasionally have to ask 2-3 times for the curtains to open before they actually would).Since the Hub 2 is Matter Compatible, they now pass through the SwitchBot Curtains directly to the Apple Home App, meaning the curtains can be controlled directly through the Home App and/or with Siri. Has some defaults that are a bit high (as in the default beep volume, brightness, etc.). I didn t necessarily need yet-another temperature/humidity sensor. Matter was the main capability I purchased it for and that works well. I ve not fully tested it with the TV I want to use it with, but it s going to be tricky to orient it so that I can see it and have it be able to reach the TV. The IR function on this is amazing, everything in my home is voice controllable except for my home theater projector for that I still needed to use the remote to turn it off and on. Not anymore this product has 10's of thousands of IR codes built in and for the ones it doesn't it can learn them if you have the original remote. For me setup was easy, I added the IR device, it asked me to point my remote at it and hit the power button and it automatically found the right code to use. Now I can control my non-smart projector with my voice. Also this supports having multiple IR devices added so if you got a room full of IR and want to make it voice enabled this has you covered. Now in terms of the IR range it's impressive, I had this device basically pointed away from my projector and it still worked plus the manuals included in the box give you accurate angles and ranges so you can position this perfectly.4.) The display is crisp and you can customize it to your liking such as the temperature unit and if you want it on or off.5.) The accuracy of the temp and humidity sensor matched by ecgobee remote sensors and my Wyze remote sensors. I have had other devices get those measurements wildly wrong but this device matches all my other sensors.Really the only con to this is the temp and humidity sensor are built into the USB-C cable so if you damage it you need to get another factory cable from this company but like I said the included cable is well built so really not a concern.Overall this is a fantastic product and the best device I have ever purchased in terms of making IR devices into voice and app controllable devices and I have tried a number of them.
Finally you can automate your home in a simple way. With the Hub2 I can now also add more things to Apple Home. And it works perfectly. And then also in a very affordable way. The Hub2 looks modern and also very conveniently indicates the humidity and temperature. You can also program the buttons for specific functions. I am very satisfied with the Hub2!!

Excited to see the matter integration in the Switchbot network is going to play out. For now, the Hub 2 is a slick looking upgrade to the mini hub. Love how it looks on my shelf, light is bright and having a humidity sensor is surprisingly gratifying. I've not had a chance to install my contact sensor or my lock after a move, but am looking forward to setting those up and creating security scenes for them. Also intrigued with what types of scenes I might be able to create after the matter integration into other smart home devices that I have. All in all, another solid expansion of the Switchbot ecosystem.
The Hub seems to work fine within the SwitchBot App. No complaints about that. Seems to be a decent upgrade/add-on to my system using the 1st Gen Mini Hub.I have yet to try using the Matter functionality to add my Tilt Blind devices to HomeKit because of the lack of Group capability.The number of Accessories that can be added to HomeKit (using Matter) is limited, so I want to Group my 3 Tilt Blinds together before integrating into HomeKit. I m unable to do this until SwitchBot re-releases the Group capabilities.Oh. I think an option to have a clock on the Mini Hub 2 display was a missed opportunity.
