This is a high quality kerbside model (i.e. no engine or internals other than the cockpit) of this beautiful racer. There are a few sink-marks in the roof and around the bonnet/hood, but nothing that can't be fixed with sanding, followed by polishing back to a high shine. As usual with Tamiya kits, the supplied seatbelt decals are a bit two-dimensional, but you can pick up "fabric" replacements from eBay.

A great kit. Mouldings are crisp and defined to the usual high standards of Tamiya as is expected. Decals are nicely cut and easy to apply. Car looks fantastic when finished and isn't the most difficult to assemble making it ideal for most ages and abilities..

I was disappointed with this model. It doesn’t have an opening hood so no detailed engine compartment. A race car without an engine. Would not have bought this had I known.
I feel like this model has taken me from a wash the fence, wax on wax off Daniel-son level beginner to a level 5 Samurai master. If I had started with models of this quality when I was young, I would probably be sipping champaigne in the local country club now as opposed to hammering a keyboard 9-5. This model will change your life. Other men will want to be you, women will want to be with you.

I just started this model last night. As expected from Tamiya the model is superior and fit and finish is great. I also ordered the paint that was designed specifically for this model, TS100 semi gloss gun metal. Looking forward to this build.
I am in the process of deciding what colour I will paint the model before I start to assemble it. I have the choice of making it into a standard model or converting it into a slot car body and then mount a motor under it. Fantastic!!
