I am always thinking about the wastfulness when I get my monthly cycle. All the plastic trash that goes back into the garbage. My mind has changed since trying cardboard tampons. They are so much easier especially for a bigger women like I am. They glide in so much easier than plastic applicators. Soak up the fluid just like tampons with plastic applicators. I've definitely switched! I've always turned away from cardboard applicators because I thought they would fall apart or be painful, but I have absolutely no problems! If I cannot change the waste that comes with my period, I would at least likely try as much as I could switching to cardboard even if it's a small change.

Tampax always comes with reliability, ease of use and a brand I can trust. However, I don’t see any great change to these cardboard ones from their predecessors. One of the reasons I use plastic applicators is because they insert painlessly, even when the area is tight or dry. I’d love to use cardboard since I know it’s more environmentally friendly (quite frankly, I’d use a cup if that were an option for me as well) but they just don’t make the insertion easy and painless. The wrapper and other elements, aside from the tampon itself are all paper. Not waterproof in the slightest so I would store them in their own small bag if tucked into a purse. They’re lightweight and the tubes didn’t have any issue with sliding on application. The tampon itself expands and absorbs predictably and reliably. There’s truly nothing wrong with the product itself, it would just come down to preference. Some women just have far more limited options but if you can do cardboard, this is a reliable choice.

I know it's best to still toss them in the trash when I can, but this is the best option for when I'm out and about working or even on a walk somewhere.
