If you're seeking a 'one bag does it all,' this Targus product is it! Lamp top, iPad, any/all electronics tuck neatly in a 'compartment.' Clothes and toiletries snuggle in a larger space. Zip closed, wheel away. In the overhead bin, or under the seat in front of you. No fuss with checked luggage, or waiting at a carousel. Exit the plane (or train), and you're on your way--with your 'necessities' with you--in fact, safely at all times. Targus--a winner for sure!

From the Product Search menu, if you select Roller in STYLE, then scroll down and select Shoulder Strap in FEATURES, this roller bag TCG717 is displayed. HOWEVER, this bag does NOT come with the Shoulder Strap, nor are there any hooks stitched on the bag to add a shoulder strap if you needed to do so. A bag this size may need to be carried across a snow covered parking lot and be too heavy to use only handles. The shoulder strap is an imperative feature of this bag. The older versions used to have one, but this newer version does not. I would pay extra $$ for this feature if it was available.

My previous Targus case lasted for over 10 years and was still functional although not looking the best to heavy use. I expect this new Targus case to last as long as it is well designed and made. The padded area holds my 17" laptop without a problem. Additionally, it has an area to hold files, chargers, etc. Finally, it has a fairly large area to put in overnight clothes.

The Targus City Gear London Rolling Case was one of the best and most intelligent purchases I have made during the past year. It is loaded with compartments and expands to successfully hold my computer and devices that are vital to my business. The big advantage is the handle. It is sturdy and easily moves up and down without effort. It was always an adventure with the bag ii owned previously when it came to taking the handle down for storing the bag on a plane. I travel frequently so I needed a bag that could accommodate the demands of airports. The Tagus Bag does this. It is the perfect bag for the business traveler.

Some features have been lost over the years as I usually have to purchase a new bag every 2-3 years due to wear and tear and the abuse on the railroad. The bags used to be wider and offered a shoulder strap (easy to climb up the ladder of the locomotive with a shoulder strap) which are now lost. It still works well and the wheels stand up to hours of rolling and heat. The only other weakness is the bag will lean forward after a year or so as the plastic support under the bag starts to give under the weight of a laptop and books.Otherwise great bag. This travel roller is very light and easy to roll/carry. This is the most spacious I can find. I am able to fit many healing devices/accessories in one place plus the laptop up to 17.3 size. There is the zipping expandable portion in case I need to pack more stuff. The pricing is very reasonable. However, I wish there would more side pockets and an area to put file folders. Not clear what the warranty period is and whether the material is water resistant/repelling. Overall, I rate it 4.5. Good enough for many uses.
Purchased this one as a replacement for the previous model which I had for slightly over 2 years. Held up well, but seams splitting. Had heavy use as I travel a lot and stuff lots of gear into it. New model a little different - tablet compartment is open and can't be closed off, which is my biggest gripe. Build quality seems to be the same high standard. I think it should last as long as my old one. Would like to see some partitioning in new models to keep gear seperate - ideal would be some padding with Velcro to accommodate multiple configurations... But as it is - still a good case.

I was able to visit patients while keeping the bag comfortably at my side with the shoulder strap, and for visits that required extensive walking to get to my patient, I could set it down, pull out the handle, and drag it along to my visits so my shoulder would not wear down. I've been able to use this same bag for the last 6 years with absolutely no problem until the zippers finally started to wear down. I’m a nursing student so I use this to cart around my gigantic text books and laptop and I get so many compliments on it and it saves my back. The product is high quality and it fits all my supplies, pens, chargers, etc also. Great product!
