I have tried several USB hubs from Versions 2.0 to 3.0 even those with extra power support. They will disconnect or not recognize your connected devices all of a sudden. Several days ago, I found this Targus Hub online. Then I went to my nearest store at Arguello Blvd to buy it. They are on sale over there. When I get home, I tried to connect my thumb drive, mouse and microphone with this tiny little hub all at once. My computer works fine with the mouse, thumb drive and I can use my microphone online for more than 3 hours. The hub is very small on size but it works fine and easy to carry for travelers.

Drives did work every time directly plugged into laptop. Did verify I had current updates of files and drivers for my laptop withmaker of laptop. Including Windows 10 pro and Dell files and drivers. I have bought several of the hubs over many years. Why? 2 reasons 1. Not enough ports on laptops. 2. Less downtime if connections of hub ifworn, instead of laptop Jack is worn.

My laptop only had three USB ports and after installing my USB printer, fitbit device and my wireless keyboard and mouse I found a myself needing to swap out my printer for thumb drive. This very affordable device turned one USB port into four. Just plug and play, supports all current and previous USB standards. So simple! I love it.The only drawback is the lack of a charging station for charging phones and other devices, but I am used to using an adapter at home and an adapter I bought for my on the road. For me, the extra cost of a chargeable hub was not worth it. This one works great!
This item was good. My computer only has 1 usb port so having additional ports makes this much easier to navigate. It is self-explanatory and easy to use. It's just a matter of plugging it in and using it. I did not notice a delay in data transfer or any other complications. My only complaint is the price. It does not feel like an item of high quality, but it cost over $30.
I've purchased several USB multiport hubs before and this Targus is great for my use when I'm away from my office. I can transfer files quickly and seamlessly between my laptop and portable hard drive while having two other peripherals attached as well. Buy with confidence. Long life from Targus products.
Great little product. I need a few more USB ports for my laptop. I am a teacher and we have smartboards connected to our laptops and they take up a lot of the extra laptop ports. This product is perfect and gives me the few extra ports need for my flash drive. Works great and solves my problem.
When attempting to make a choice, I like to use the information from a company's web pages to make that decision. Yes, there are 4 USB hubs, but only 3 are USB 3.0 that can be used for data transfers, the fourth port is a charging port! Try to figure that out from the web pages. Sub "Nit" the picture is WRONG! The unit I purchased has only 3 ports in the front, the charging port is in the back.I was comparing this with Item #725630, it is a USB 3.0 4 port hub, but contrary to it's web pages, IT DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER ADAPTER! 845734 does.Other than those complaints, it is working just fine.
This hub has three slots on one side, and one on the opposite side, very helpful when one USB casing is wider than normal. My old hub had 4 slots in a row, so with an extra wide casing, I often only had use of three slots.This hub will transfer at 10 times the speed of USB 2.0, another plus. It also advertises overcurrent protection to prevent "short-circuits and electrical current overload." Overall, it is a well designed product that gives you a lot of features for the money.

A longer cable, or the option to use either a 12-inch cable or the current 4-inch cable, would provide a lot more flexibility.
