These are the most consistent reacting wedges I’ve ever used. The sole interaction with the turf just feels absolutely amazing and the spin when chipping is so ridiculously consistent.I had a set of RTX 4 Wedges which are still very nice but sometimes you would hit a chip and it grabs and spins too much or sometimes you would hit your landing spot and it releases too much. With these wedges it’s a total night and day difference. You get the same results every time. Absolutely insane how good it is!

I’ve only played a single round with it. So far it’s amazing. Love the look and feel. Spins great. Weighting is perfect for my liking. This is nice change from my PXG sugar daddy II wedges. Softer feel and more spin. Nice workability for a multitude of shots.

The ferrule finishing is horrible, deep spacing, and empty gaps from Taylormade using wrong size ferrules,in time this will lead to shaft breakage and or loose head and shaft.****Check your irons, wedges etc**** If it has this defect it needs to be fixed. The gap will be at top of ferrule where it should be flush around the shaft! This is a wide spread problem on the new clubs

It's the Tiger grind in the latest MG4 wedge. If you've played any other Tiger grind MG wedges, you know what you're getting into. That said, there's more mass behind the ball now on slightly higher hits, so it's a tad more forgiving. And the MG4 spin treads are wild. Very consistent spin numbers. Amazing wedges!
The good, the wedges arrived early, and the clubs do look really good. The bad, I’ve been trying to order wedges from Taylormade for over 6 months (the mg3) but the continued to cancel the order so I ended up with the mg4’s. The only problem with the MG4’s is that I had them custom ordered to be a half inch longer than standard, and of course they’re not. They are standard length. At least they gave me the right shaft and flex.
I upgraded to the MG4 from the MG2. First, the look of these wedges is amazing. They genuinely look sexy. The contours, the finish, the raw face, all of it. I ordered them custom, so I actually got them about 10 days before they were even released. The spin is unlike any other wedge I’ve hit. I’ve played a few rounds with them and the face is so rough that it literally rips some of the cover off the ball. The spin is wild. On full shots, the ball rips back pretty consistently. On half shots or bunker shots, I’m getting one bounce and stop. I got the new c-grind for my. 58° and so far I really like it. I could not be more impressed with these wedges. I ordered 50.9°, 54.11°, and 58.9°. Don’t hesitate to get these if you’re in the market for new wedges. They do not ... MoreI upgraded to the MG4 from the MG2. Retired a high Toe 3 56 and got a 54.11 with Dynamic Gold Tour Issue shaft. So glad I did. The feel is like butter and is a great club for approach shots and around the greens. Played a round in the AM with a lot of dew and the ball still checked up. I was concerned about scuffing up balls with the sandpaper like face but this hasn’t been a problem at all. I know plan on replacing my high toe 58 with the MG4.
I’ve tried wedges from every other manufacturer and just couldn’t find one that worked for me in all areas of the game. I never thought about Taylormade as a wedge company, but now that I have used the MG4, I won’t be looking anywhere else to buy my next wedges. These check all the boxes - cheat code out of the bunker, great from the rough easy to hit off of a tight lie, and great feel and accuracy. This is without a doubt the perfect wedge.
MG3 was the first Taylormade wedge I have played in a long time. When I tried the MG3 I swapped from my Cleveland RTXs immediately. Needless to say I am a big fan of the MG3…. What does that have to do with MG4, somehow Taylormade took a fantastic wedge and just made it a little better!!! The MG4 just feels a little better.
This was just the club I have been missing between my 130 and 80 yard club. Knowing the lie angle I needed it was a no brainer to get this. It just feels amazing in my hands and from the very first swing it’s done nothing but compliment my game. Maybe I am a little bias to all my Taylormade clubs but these wedges have been a game changer for me. 100% recommend.
