This club has easily been one of the most versatile and important clubs in my bag this year. After gaming it the last 4 months, Iām finding room in my bag to keep it in permanently rather than swapping out my 5 wood.Itās a super forgiving long iron that gives EXPLOSIVE distance all across the face. Mishits still fly almost full distance and the flight is super strong.The best aspect for this club for sure is the Stinger factor. On days where Iām not feeling as loose to smash driver, this club can easily produce flat running stingers down the fairway that roll out what seems like forever depending on playing conditions. This iron is amazing off the tee! Great feel and distance. With the project X hzrdus Red shaft I get a nice low launch angle. It is definitely for the better player as a miss hit can greatly cost you. It is much more forgiving than any other P700 series iron but still not something to rely on. The small club head was daunting at first but once you get used to the club itās a go to in the bag.

Similar to other reviews, this club has broken twice for me at the hosel in less than one year. X-stiff shaft with a 1deg bend, I wonder if something in the custom build process is wrong for it to break twice.That said, it's my favorite club in the bag. Forgiving. Low spin off the tee, clutch for someone like me who can cut or hook and wants less side spin. Still possible to shape and control. I love the ball flight and feel, like you can simply drop it onto a fairway 250y off the tee.TaylorMade replaced the broken club both times and shipped fast. It does make me nervous once the warranty expires that I'm holding a risky investment of a couple hundred bucks but I'm enjoying it now.
I was a little doubtful when buying this iron as I wasn't sure on how it would compare to my hybrids, but it has definitely lived up to expectations. It is a beautiful looking 2 iron, feels great and sounds awesome, it definitely gets under the ball and gets some wicked distance, it is actually easier and more versatile for me to hit than my hybrid, Very happy with this purchase. I'm still trying to figure out when I'll put this in my bag. It's a great driving iron, but it's just not versatile at all beyond that. I can't recommend playing it from anywhere but the tee and I don't see much value in it off the tee compared to the Stealth Hybrid. I think the only time I would maybe keep it in the bag would be if I'm playing true links golf on a dry, firm, and fast course. But even then, I would go back and forth between this and the hybrid. But if you really want a driving iron and play somewhere it would be useful, this is the best one I've played.
I purchased this club for two purposes. One was to have something that I could get in the fairway when my driver and 3 wood were just not working, the other was to have something to fill the gap between my 3wood and 3 iron. This club did both I was able to keep the ball in play and keep my score down while trying to figure out the woods. I used last week in a windy day, and it keep the ball low and was just what I needed. I really like the weight and the ability to move the ball.
Love the P790s. Bought this to add to the set but wanted it the same length as the stock 4 iron. So I paid extra to have it custom made. When I received it, it was half an inch short and the same size as my 5 iron. Called customer support and they offered to do a repair for me to fix it and get it to the size of my 4 iron. I'm convinced they just sent me my club back because its still a half inch short and the same size as my 5 iron. Wouldn't recommend custom ordering this club.
I recently purchased the Taylormade 2 iron and I am extremely impressed with its performance. The club has a sleek design and excellent craftsmanship. It feels great in my hands and provides a balanced swing. The ball flight is consistent and the distance is impressive. The club is perfect for long par 3s and tight fairways. I highly recommend this club to any golfer who wants to improve their game. Overall, the Taylormade 2 iron is a fantastic addition to my bag and has quickly become one of my favorite clubs.
I hit this a few times in a fitting and fell in love. The real issue is that Taylormade has a players geared driving iron with only one or two viable X Stiff shaft options. Many of their other clubs have shaft options that you would actually want, unfortunately I ended up purchasing a titleist as they have much better shaft selection and similar look. Unfortunate as Tmade had me sold here and fumbled.
