Needed a true stereo in-out chorus for a keyboard setup. This works well, with good sound, compact but sturdy design, and a good range of chorus sounds available. Have not yet tried using the TonePrint feature, but it seems like it could be useful for quick-changing presets and for designing new chorus sounds. The current library of TonePrint settings doesn't include much for keyboard players, but that will probably change over time. Some good Leslie effects and old-school Rhodes presets would be a welcome addition to the library.

It's everything that the standard (green) Corona Chorus is but with a sleek black design. Absolutely beautiful in sound and design. I would consider this an upgrade to my Boss CE-5. TC Electronic really has their stuff together, and at a good price point. Also, I contacted TC Electronic's support about the firmware for this Limited-edition pedal, they said that ALL new Corona Chorus's ship with the latest firmware update (version 1.0.03 as of this writing).

CORONA IS MONO FROM MONO- NOT STEREO- Mono plug into Boss CE-2W (Waza) or mono into Ibanez CS-9 and even mono into NUX ModCore, you get a NICE STEREO SPREAD out of the two output jacks. Mono plug into the Corona chorus- its STILL MONO OUT even when you use the two output jacks, it's mono times two. !! THUMBS DOWN on Corona. A key component of stereo chorus is that you get a stereo output with wide out of phase spread from a mono input- NOT SO ON CORONA.

I've had pretty good luck with T.C. Electronic products. I bought this pedal on the strength of T.C.'s reputation, and the "tri-chorus" feature which is something I used as a patch base on my Line 6 MM-4 to try to emulate an A/DA. For me, the chorus (or flanger) device that all others are measured by is the beloved A/DA which disappeared for years and is now being reissued. I had hoped to hear the same lush chorusing from this unit that I achieved with my MM-4, but I did not - even after hours of tweaking. One undesirable characteristic that seems to prevail in cheaper chorus/flanger units is the 'vibrato' or repetitive sound you get when you push the 'depth'control. Supposedly, the "tri-chorus" masked this by using 3 separate choruses. One aggravating characteristic of this pedal (perhaps it is/was defective) is the "tone" control which did nothing other than behave as a mix control. All the way to the left and you get no chorusing at all! It's a well made unit and features the ability to download other users' patches. My only other gripe is the non-standard switch which does not feel or appear as rugged as the type used on most 'stomp-boxes'.
TC Electronic has been creating some wonderful pedals. Corona Chorus is no exception. Rich texture and tone. It has mono and stereo options as well as true bypass. I use TC Electronic pedal with keyboards and samplers. Works brilliant for aux FX on mixers. And this is a tone print, which means you can go online and download other configurations or create your own. Highly recommended.
The chorus effect is awesome right out of the box.. very warm, very clean, very nice ... Have used Boss CE-2-5 and Ibanez SC-10 for decades .... well they have been replaced with the Corona Chorus.. it is able to reproduce the earlier chorus sounds and then with the tone print editor ... you can go into bold new territory!!! The Tri-chorus is incredible on clean two handed tapping.... what a neat versatile chorus pedal !!! Highly recommended !!!
I have owned many pedals over the years. But my TC electronic pedals have been the best yet! Excellent tone with smooth adjustments to customize, just the right sound. I like pedals with true bypass. And the Toneprint download feature is great and easy to use for customizing your own personal sound, from the TC electronics web site. Will be adding a couple more TC electronics pedals to my pedalboard!
Bought to "fatten up" and widen a mono output from a vintage analog synthesizer, with this stereo chorus effect. It does a very nice job if you keep the line-level output from a keyboard volume control down to prevent distortion. I have nothing to compare this pedal to yet I am pleased with the result. I'm guessing it would sound excellent with guitars as well.
The best chorus I have used, tone print is excellent with a variety of chorus sounds for free. Download the patch from TC and away you go. Robust construction, smooth operating foot switch with no crackles or pops. This product should last for years to come. A compliment to any desent pedal boars. Cheers Steve B
I may not have learned totally how to tweak this unit but have had several others by other manufacturers over the years including T.C. Electronic G Major rack mount and have always been able to find a lush expressive setting easily. Even in mono mode. After working with this one for quite a while I still cannot find a setting that does not get lost in the mix with the full band. It sounds OK alone but very weak on stage.
