Spout speed tests or whatever all day long - for whatever they're worth, but under the circumstance in use here, no one would ever be able to tell any difference between this drive & any other drive. (This is my first usage of an SSD, but I'd dare say I'd be pressed to "see" any meaningful difference between this and a 7200 HDD. Originally the computer had Win10 on it, which I nuked for Win7. I grabbed this when I put my order in for my last 2/3 or so of the things I needed to rebuild my PC. Thought this would be a great jump from my half TB ssd that went bad so why not since I am making from the case-up, right? That said install went smooth like standard ssds, but that's where the plan derailed. When I installed my OS and finished all the standard "more info then restart again" cycle the first time I got to my actual desktop where you can start going about updating windows &/or drivers etc. that is when I restarted and after that I never was able to return to desktop. Even when I checked in Bios, it told me that my HD didn't even exist on my storage device list or boot list. I hope you all have better luck than I do since I thought I had really grabbed a good deal on a solid state that would've been perfect for my OS, despite a brand I have not (long-term) heard about and wanted to give "new" a shot.

All in all, I was very pleased.

I would definitely recommend this product, and do intend to buy a couple more. All my installed programs now open immediately with no noticeable lag. It used to take Libre Office about 5 seconds to start; now I don't even have time to read the splash-screen. My operating system, Windows 7 64 bit (yes I'm still using it...) boots and is ready to use in less than 15 seconds. My computer is a Vostro 3560, Quad-core @ 2.50 ghz per core, 8 gigs of ram, if that helps anyone benchmark the timing. The only non-Windows start-up items are my Bluetooth drivers, Netgear wireless drivers, and Avast anti-virus free edition. The only reason I only gave it 4 eggs was the packaging. My only concern would be the drive's longevity - I will update this post if anything changes.

Died after less than 2 years

The product worked well for my usage in the beginning but it has stopped working in less than 2 years. A couple months prior I would have issues such as constant blue screening. When I resolved that issue another one would arise. I would have to restart my computer after opening an application because it would freeze immediately after. And finally, tonight, it wouldn't even boot into windows and my system didn't detect a sata device.

Died after one year!
5 June 2021

I used this to transfer files from PC to 4k TV. it was going well until I transfer quite a few, then the TV had to sort through them, but the TV would not recognize the drive then. I ended up losing everything on it! To date, this is the ONLY SSD that I ever lost! SK Hynix, Team Group PCIE, SanDisk, Kingston and Plextor drives going back years - STILL working! The Plextor was kept in storage for a year - and it still retained the info it had on it! This was hardly used and only used to shuttle files back and forth to the TV. I guess next time, I'll hook the drive directly up to the PC instead of via USB 3.0! Their PCIE drives are still going strong, but I am crossing this off the list for simple SSD storage!

I bought this to replace a noisy mechanical hard drive in HP Pavilion x360 convertible, before it had a chance to fail. I cloned the existing drive with Macrium Reflect which I have used for many years without incident then installed the TeamGroup CX2. Everything booted up quickly without hesitation or prompting of any sort for the first day. My wife used it for the whole day without problems. After powering off, laptop began to exhibit difficulty booting. I entered the bios which showed a menu to run diagnostic programs. SMART showed hard drive errors on the quick and long test. I exited from that and the computer booted okay and ran well for that day, then was shut down for the night. Subsequent powering up of the computer was followed by difficulty in booting. I entered bios and now the ssd does not even register. The laptop only shows USB and something else as available options for boot. I have cloned onto Kingston, Seagate, Western Digital and Micron in the past without any problems. Either this is a faulty item or it was damaged in transit due to poor packaging. Regardless, I am very disappointed in this product sold by Newegg.

Great SSD drive for older computer upgrades
2 February 2022

I've used several of these on older computers. It gives an instant speed upgrade after cloning. It's the single biggest thing you can do to upgrade up computer that is up to 10 years old. There are many cloning or imaging software options. I have had good luck with Macrium Reflect. It's helpful if you scan the original hard drive for data corruption, fragmentation, viruses, malware, adware, or software conflicts. That takes time, but it makes for a cleaner clone. Don't forget to blow out dust when you have the computer open, especially cleaning the cooling fan and air vents.

This 1TB SSD is running the OS, along with all the apps the owner will be using on an older Tower running a Intel DH67BL motherboard. Since the owner will be using this tower for backing up his music, movies, pictures & probably documents, I opted to add an older Seagate FireCuda 1TB SSHD for the main backup of his data. Team Group has served me well in the past. I believe I've installed about 8 of their SSD drives on 3 or 4 towers, 2 of which are gaming towers & a couple laptops, both that had the ability to install the 2nd drive for storage. It's always nice to catch them on sale but that is never a priority with me when I'm building a tower, or doing the upgrades on a tower or laptop that only had 1 drive installed. I want to get the parts, so I can get them back ... MoreThis 1TB SSD is running the OS, along with all the apps the owner will be using on an older Tower running a Intel DH67BL motherboard. I ordered the product on 03-31-21 and Rec'd it on 04-10-21. If you have a rush you may want to pay the extra money for faster delivery, but if your trying to save money like I am, then for me it's been worth the wait using the free delivery option. I've been using the product for aprox. 8 to 12 hrs. a day of on, sleep mode, on again with few shut downs in-between. So far I'm super happy with the performance of this product. It's an excellent upgrade in speed and hopefully will endurance beyond my previous Seagate HHD 1TB that only last me 3 to 4 years of light use and with many issues along the way! I felt the price for the CX2 SSD 1TB was very competitive and so far proving its self to be a great product for the money.

Using for Work Computer

If you are looking for a cheap SSD that you just want to upgrade your current HD and get better read/write speeds, then I would fully recommend this SSD. I personally have no issues with it and its 100 times faster on loading times then my old HDD, so this is perfect for anyone that jut wants to load basic programs faster like (Word, Excel, Powerpoint ETC.) I would not recommend this SSD for highend stuff, as it does tend to slow down when opening or trying to run multiple programs at the same time that require a lot of sending and receiving, but still not as slow as a HDD though. I didn't run a read/write speed test, so this is just what I am noticing since I use my computer on a daily basis for work. More extensive things, you may want to look at better SSDs, if you replacing your SSD with this SSD, you may not be happy with it because it is much slower then my SAMSUNG EVO in my gaming system.
