1TB model performs poorly

Performs very pooly compared to other TLC NVME drives that I've used. The HP EX950 and EX920 perform much better. Even the PCI-E 3.0x2 Patirot Scorch in the 256GB model performs better! Unless its firmware is flawed, it reports that its idle temp is 67C! Other drives with better performance don't get to that temp when running full out! Because of its slow performance, I've taken it out of my PC and placed it into an M.2/USB3.2 enclosure to use as a flash drive for moving data to remote systems. For the price, it's a very expensive USB stick. Not recommended.

Awesome product as advertised.

I would recommend this drive to anyone interested in a SSD for an Operating System. The speeds are as described and The package came in 3 days and was in a small bag, without any unnecessary boxes. If you want to Migrate your OS to this SSD, make sure you have a software ready for that. I had to spend more than an hour searching for a free software that allowed migrating OS. Once found, the process was fairly quick and everything worked as expected.

Bought two, both failed within weeks.

I purchased two of these. The first failed within 6 weeks. No SMART errors or any warnings at all, just suddenly was not recognised by the the computer at all - like it was not installed. The second unit failed in exactly the same way about 4 weeks later - there one minute, gone the next. I will not be buying another SSD from TeamGroup.

Gave up after less than 2 years
18 May 2022

Died after less than 2 years of use. Was using it as a game storage drive. Used it actively about 3 times a week, at around 70% capacity. It was in an open air case with plenty of cooling. Today I tried to boot a game and got the error "drive doesn't exist". It's not visible in windows or BIOS.

Good, but simple. Great for everyday computing.

So, let's not fool ourselves here: This drive is not for professional use. Pro video editors, Photo editors, animators, AutoCAD users, etc, etc need to go PCIe gen 4.0x4, with DRAM buffers. Even many youtubers and streamers may want to look somewhere else, some place with a better controller. If you are a pro, and your Read/Writes are mission critical, I cannot recommend. However, I bought this drive simply as extra storage for things like Media and Games, and use the rest as a scratch disk that I back up later. And it works perfectly for that task. Loading times decrease significantly compared to a SATA III SSD, and with a 5-year warranty and solid TBW Program/Erase ratings, this thing has proven itself reliable to me. There are faster cars in the lot, but this is a nice, comfy, affordable station wagon, that gets the job done and doesn't complain. All at a very reasonable price. If this is your first NVMe, or if you just need that extra storage and have a spare M.2 slot. Then, I can highly recommend this.

Great Product! Easy to set up and use! And... see photo. Performs great apparently!

Definitely recommend this brand! It performs fantastic, with extremely fast game loads! Only thing that can make it better is if it came with an m.2 mounting screw. Some people out there might not have a spare one lying around! My ASUS ROG Strix B550-f was a perfect fit for the drive, and luckily I had a second m.2 screw in my box. A friend was not so fortunate, however and needed to purchase additional hardware to mount the drive to his motherboard! Overall GREAT SUCCESS!!

Harddrive failed in less than a month
2 May 2022

This thing failed 3 weeks after install. I don't know why this happened. Maybe I should not have installed the mobo heatshield? Luckily I had everything properly backed up. Quite annoying to have to re-install windows and applications on a brand new build.

Speed

This SSD will be a dream come true for people like me who've been stuck with hard drives their whole lives. In that respect I'm definitely a little biased, because I'm poor and have never been able to afford anything that even remotely comes close. But in my five months of almost daily use, I can only name about five or six times that the computer has locked up on me, taken more than half a second to respond, or taken longer than 20 seconds to boot up. Note that this is being paired with a Ryzen 5 3600 and 16GB of 3000MHz memory, so mileage may vary for garbage systems.

Very affordable, not particularly fast, noticeably bad write speeds.

I had a number of samsung base level evo SSDs as my data drives but I wanted to populate the m.2 on my mobo with something for my boot drive. Did not need to be big but was hoping for some speed for the windows boot. I didn't need it to house games so when I saw this DRAM-less card on sale, it fit the bill. Many people were saying that the lack of dram should be less noticeable with its nvme4 speeds. It is. Anyone writing reviews here saying this is lightning fast has never had a lightning fast drive before. Right off the bat crystal mark scores were hugely inconsistent. 1gb speeds one test and 250mbyte speeds the next test. Recently I picked up a 2nd nvme drive, samsungs 980 which is not bleeding edge, but pushes 1gb-sec without breaking a sweat. I copied a 60gb Good old games installation pack back and forth (just a series of 4gb files) which is the kind of test you do for BIG consistent numbers. It shows you the stamina of a data rate. After a few seconds into the file copy when the windows cache has run out, this drive averaged around 280-360 Mbytes / sec read and struggled at 220Mbytes, even falling to as low as 110Mbytes writing. Comparatively, the read speeds to my SATA samsung SSD is 500-600Mbytes read and 380 Mbytes writing, and the graph was far more consistent. Not only was the drive slowish but the speeds were quite inconsistant, bouncing up and down where as my other drives were a more uniform graph. I used some software to monitor temps but it did not seem like the Team NVME was getting particularly hot. It does have a motherboard supplied heat spreader on it. The samsung was actually running hotter, it has a 3rd party heatsink but because it is on the back of the motherboard it has almost no airflow. So honestly this NVME is one of my worst performing drives, even compared to my Sata3 (thats right, 6Gbps) drives. it still serves me fine as my boot drive, but I wouldn't play any of my games from it, and I would not recommend it.

Worked great for a few months
26 August 2021

The product was easy to install and was a great replacement for my old hard drive. It was very fast to boot up my system and loading screens were very short. Unfortunately after about 2 months I started noticing some text go across the screen while my operating system booted. It got progressively worse until now it takes about 15min to boot with the text going across the screen and it glitching out between the text and the laptop manufacturer symbol. I tried everything including wiping the hard drive and reinstalling the operating system but the issue persists. I can load an OS from a bootable flash drive without the text appearing and without the 15min delay. It seems like the only explication is that the m.2 SSD is faulty.
