There's a reason why this table is among the best-selling of all time and has found its way into recording studios, radio stations, and the equipment racks of discriminating audiophiles. Unlike belt-drive designs, this has rock steady speed stability, very low bearing rumble. ..Plus, the removable headshell makes mounting cartridges a snap. ..I couldn't be happier with this purchase. My only gripe is that the rubber base had an oily film (mold release agent) that needed to cleaned off with a bit of soapy water. ..No biggie.

I can't emphasise enough the high quality and great value ofthis. I had previously used transparent stickers which are widely available and they looked awful. This is is completely different, if your deck like mine has been resprayed then this is the best way of restoring the logo. It fits in perfectly with the aesthetic of the 1200 and on mine it looks like it's always been there.

Best turntable for every type of use. Nothing beats the Japanese quality build. All these terrible Hanpin turntables that are out in the market winning people over with their terrible gimmicky features and sub par build quality will never come close to the Technics 1200. Just look at the youtube video regarding stripping down the Pioneer PLX-1000. Technics will forever be the best and my name says it all. I have 2 MK2's that are over 25 years old and work just like they did since day 1. That says it all!

I think this is the best DJ turntable and even though Panasonic discontinued production, they still make all the important replacement parts. Tonearms, pitch faders, armrests, feet and on/off switches are available to replace your missing/broken parts. This turntable is also the best for sampling or ripping records from your collection or just listening because of the quartz timed rotation and ultra low resistance tonearm that seems to float the needle across your favorite record. Setting the correct stylus weight is easy, thanks to the precision counter weight adjustment. Panasonic really over engineered this tank of a turntable. One thing they could have done from the beginning is to put an LED in the popup light instead of an incandescant bulb, but the LED upgrade is pretty easy to do and you've got many color options. With round 3mm LED's costing 2-4 cents it's affordable to repace them all for a brighter experience. With careful use and basic maintenance/cleaning, I believe these turntables will still be around for at least 35 more years. Pioneer has produced a replacement product but they are far from affordable and have yet to show the test of time like the classic 1200 mk2.
Great, and in my opinion, the best DJ turntable. I learnt to mix on 1200s and still love them. I always preferred the silver 1200s to the black 1210s but thats just my taste. Sound great, great build, reliable, hard-wearing and they look great. Great, great, great! Got it?
Incredible turntable, especially for its age. The motor is several notches above the less expensive alternatives. Would receive 5 stars except that this gear is used (if you find a 1200 that hasn't seen use BUY IT) and used gear almost always comes with unforeseen issues. In my case the bearings in the tonearm were toast and pulled the stylus off the platter on its own. Easily replaced but brought the total cost for a working table up to nearly that of newer competitors (looking at you Reloop RP-7000/8000.) just something to be aware of when purchasing old electronics sight unseen. As far as performance goes this is a tried and true piece that won't disappoint. It may be basic but it will do what it's supposed to with little left to be desired.

My first turntable, but having read round thought I'd take a punt on an older model than a lower-spec new one for the same price. Gamble was well worth it! Even though it's old (30+ years?), it spins like new and is nearly impervious to bumps and bouncing. Pretty much zero noise from the unit itself and good surface noise avoidance. Easy to set up for a good sound.

I absolutely love this deck, I love the sound and I also love the torque but for very different reasons - I can place a record cleaning brush on it without it stalling! It also means it can take a heavy turntable weight with no effect on the speed. I didnt think I would see the day but my listening is shared equally between vinyl and streaming now, its that good, all my new music purchases are now vinyl,superb piece of kit.
Veterans recommendation!! I have been a DJ for 41 years and if your not going to play vinyl on the 1100s the 1200 MK2 is hands down the best ! Be careful about one thing you have to place these turntables in an area where there is absolutely no vibration. If not you will get instant feedback from the tone arm. I have found a simple way to fix this build a square box larger than the turntable and buy surgical tubing. Set the surgical tubing in a grid pattern for strips across by four strips wide and attach them to the box. Then gently place the 1200 into the surgical tubing so it rests securely on top of the surgical tubing and then play your music. You will get no feedback whatsoever. Enjoy your turntables.
