Bought 2 of these 8-port switches, none of the Ethernet ports would hold a cable securely. So unless you want to stand there and press the cables into the ports, it won't work. The 5-port Tenda switches I bought at the same time don't have this problem.

Great plug and play unit that does exactly what it’s supposed to do.
Good little router suitable for most users out there. It is unmanaged, but who uses a managed router? Even a static IP is managed on the side of the device, so this is great for 99% of users.
The purchase included technical support which I utilized to get my product (switch) to work. (The problem was the (initial) cable I used to connect my switch to my (cable) modem; when (inspired by Tenda technical support) I tried another cable, the switch worked like a champ.)
Worked spot on, straight out the box - plug in and away you go. Only problem came after 18 months and then the connected items started knocking off one by one.My advice - pay more for a better one like Netgear.
Bought this as new SKY Q router only has 2 Ethernet outputs. Why? Ive no idea, but this was a perfect solution straight out the box. Just connect 1 Ethernet cable from SKY Q box to this and you have 7 outputs plus the spare on the SKY box. Perfect solution, cant fault it and great price. Highly recommended if you have the same situation.
