It was with great regret that my original Teva Forebay sandals wore out. I thought it would be simple, just order a new pair online. And what a bitter disappointment they were. No longer comfortable as there was no longer a solid sole but one as soft as jelly. It had no resistance to twisting or bending. The arch support was no longer excellent. Further the upper section no longer had good leather, which has morphed from light brown (coffee) into grey! This is my opinion. Anaconda gave me a credit towards a much better Keen Arroyo 11.

I have had Teva sandals before and I love the brand. This time, the back strap really bit into my skin and I had to stop wearing it for a few days for the wound to heal. I wish Teva work work on using a different material or find a way to eliminate this sort of chaffing. This did not happen before when I used Teva sandals. I feel the material quality has gone down. Aside from this issue, this is a great pair of sandals that can be used in different environments.

These sandals worked great for a while. Had hiked in them often over the years and they seemed stable and fairly comfortable. I took them on a recent hiking trip in the rain forest in P. R. About 0.5 mile into the hike, the entire sole of one shoe came off while walking through lots of mud, followed by the next one a mile later. Unfortunately, I was on a tour and didn't expect to need a backup pair and literally got dropped off back at the hotel barefoot. Teva offered 10% off a new purchase, which is disgraceful, and I declined. Prospective buyers should understand this issue an how Teva didn't stand behind their product.

I bought a pair of the original Teva's Forebay about 10 years ago and I've loved them. They're comfortable and lasted forever. I'm still wearing them although they look a bit worn out now. So I decided to buy a new pair. They were also on sale on Cabela's website. When I received them, I was disappointed in the color change. The new ones are more like grayish-brown, or perhaps brownish-gray (to be more precise).. I dislike the new brownish gray color. They look like a pair of dirty/dusty old sandals they need some shoe-shine polishing.. At first, I thought these were fake/knock-off ones, but then I thought Cabela's is quite reputable and they wouldn't sell fake/knock-off products. At first, I thought these were fake/knock-off ones, but then I thought Cabela's is quite reputable and they wouldn't sell fake/knock-off products. So I came here to Teva's website to read some reviews and found that others also complained about the same color change. Ugh! Aside from the color, I also noticed some differences in the stiching details compared to my original pair. Also the tounges of the new pair go up a little higher on the new one, making them slightly more difficult to put on and take off. I can't really tell yet how that will affect the comfort when wearing them for a long time. The heel cups also feel stiff, but perhaps they just need to be broken in first. We'll see.. Regardless, I don't think these are knock-off/fake ones, but rather a poor outcome of some redesigning by Teva's. I always wonder why many companies often times managed to change/redesign their great products and made them worse. Haven't you heard "f it ain't broken, don't fix it!"?? Perhaps there was need to cut cost and thus decided to cut corners and reduce quality, etc. to make more profit?? What a shame!! Regardless, I am really disappointed in Teva's that my new pair of Teva's Forebay sandals are not like the old original one. What a shame! But let's see if these last as long and are as comfortable. Note: One thing that hasn't changed is the sizing. I knew to order one size smaller than my regular size.
I originally purchased Teva Forebay sandals around 12 months ago. I must say, right from the getgo, they’re are the most comfortable footwear I have ever owened. However after around 3-4 months they started ageing really rapidly. I returned them to Anaconda Mount Pleasant and they took photos and sent them to head office. They eventually replaced them about a month later, which was good. But alas my new pair have aged rapidly also in less than 6 months. I am very disappointed as they’re still so comfortable. I only really wear them on weekends and do minimal walks. They’re never in the rain and don’t wear them in the water. Definitely nothing close to what they’re marketed for. I’ve switched to Keen Newports today, so we’ll see how they hold up. Fingers crossed
This is my 3rd pair. I loved the first 2. Even though this is the same item, the color/material Changed from a darker brown to a light brown, which I don't care for as much.-Also, despite being the same size ordered, these are slightly smaller, and lighter than the old pair. I think they should have changed the name/item number or color...-They no longer have the Teva hand symbol on the back of the shoe. If you find a pair with the hand in a store, get them instead!-They are similar, but I thing maybe a bit cheaper made.
I am disappointed that I received sandals that are not pictured. The color is not the brown pictured but a grey that wants to be brown. Other websites have hinted that since there is no logo on the back that these are counterfeit TEVAS. It is probably not fake but a lower quality product at the same or higher price. TEVA did make a good shoe but I don't expect this pair to last.
I bought these for my husband and he loves these! I specific bought this style because it had support for the foot and heel. His previous shoes had a vecro for the heel and over the front, but he could never get it tight enough and didn't provide the support he needed. This style is one of the few I have seen where it has the heel support so that his foot doesn't slide around. He says they are very comfortable and the price point is perfect. We were looking at other brands and shoes that were twice the price, but didn't look like it would be as supportive. I am glad we landed on this pair!
They need breaking in, as other reviewers have said. The heel straps will wear a blister on your heels. I use band aids to prevent it. Otherwise excellent water shoes They are NOT hiking shoes. Only the center top is brown, and the instep strap may not be as long as the original, but WHO CARES! They are water shoes! You are not gonna wear them to the prom!
I got, just a few months and as a gift, a pair of Forebay sandals. Not even 15 minutes passed, on my first wearing, and got THREE BLISTERS, and the next wearings many more, (toes, ankles, instep, etc...). Later, on a hiking day with more people, I saw a guy with exactly the same sandals (even the color), and noticed he was wearing them too loose and without the ankle's strap (he was steping them with the heels), so asked him about his experience with and he also mentioned lots of blisters... Now, not even a year ago, and my sandals are already ruined. Now Keen, is my favorite option. Teva, A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT!!
