If the laces aren't loose enough, the back has a tendency to collapse when putting on. This shoe is also very durable.

Only complaint is that they take a while to break in, I've had these for 4-5 months now and they are still tight. I wear a size 13 Wide normally and these guys are still very snug. I like the laces on these Teva's too, pricey but I'll definitely get another season or better outta these shoes.

I was so excited for this boot! Very disappointed to find that the construction was poorly planned. There are seams in the leather which meet at the base of the tongue, making one continuous arc across the widest part of the foot. This seam has NO stretch. It is unbearably uncomfortable. I know I have an unusually wide forefoot, but this ruined the boot for me.

The only complaint I have about them is that I wish they had a pull tab for the back of the shoe when putting on. Bought these Teva's mid May 2021 - size 10 medium Dark Olive. Over the course of 11 days & 3000 miles, we visited Arches, Canyon Lands, Dead Horse Point, Zion, Sequoia, King's Canyon, Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. These hiking boots are awesome right out of the box with no break in period required. Wider toe box than most hiking boots is a plus. True to size. I highly recommend these mid ankle hiking boots for any & all trail types.
I ordered these shoes for a planned hiking trip. I have worn them for a couple of days and they are comfortable. As the product description says, the toe area is enlarged to afford more comfort. I like this feature though they look a bit clunky because of it. My feet are narrow so the extra width may become a problem. Not sure the heel is elevated enough, unlike mm current hiking shoes. I like the strap that is incorporated into the laces. It will help hold the foot back while hiking down slopes. I really need to wear the shoes on an extended hike to give a positive rating.
I wore my pair around the house for a day to break them in before hitting the trails for the first time. The soles are stiff, flat, hard, and offer as much cushion as a pair of Sperry Top Siders. The cheap inserts were thin and went straight into the trash. I put in a $50 pair of arch support insoles which made them somewhat better but by the end of the day walking around on carpet and hardwood floors my feet were killing me. Hoping they'll feel better on dirt because they suck wind for daily comfort.
I love the style and the fit of these boots. But being waterproof and goretex these do run very hot and your feet will sweat and get unconfirtably hot. In New York where I am from it is currently winter time and they are bearable outside with the cold. But inside the house you need to remove them ASAP because they get uncomfortable and feet get very sweaty. They advertise for weekend hikes or day hikes but I couldn't imagine treking around in these in the summer months. I really want to wear these shoes year round but I do not think it will be wise or even possible. I decided to keep them for a seasonal shoe/boot but I have to keep hunting for a spring/summer shoe. They should be advertised a little differently in the description I believe.
I bought this product because since Teva bought out ahnu I figured the quality of the ahnu boot would be present in the Teva boots sadly it is not.Ahnu was so incredibly comfortable Teva is not in a boot I am so disappointed I have to find another company that provides a wonderful boot the way that Ahnu did.I'm still giving three stars because they're very lightweight and I'm hoping that eventually they'll break in and get comfortable.But the Ahnu boot had zero breaking. So I was expecting the same since Teva bought out Ahnu. Ahnu NEVER hurt my feet.I'm already getting some pain with the Teva boot. Incredibly uncomfortable. At the base of the big toe the shoe digs in really hard to the top of my foot where the lower inside lace hole is whenever the shoe is flexed, ie constantly.They re actually painful to wear, never had this with any other footwear of any kind. Have tried multiple variations with how I tie the laces…but there’s a hard bit that digs in to the top of the base of my big toe. Waste of money…Will probably just bin them.
seriously the best thing in my life right now the teva grandview gtx. ordered them on sale at moosejaw for a good price. when i received them and tried the size 10 in men’s the fit was comfortably perfect. the gore fabric is always a plus. the toe had a modern and refined shape that was more impressive in person than any photo could have captured. comfort is king here! the boots hug the ground therefore keeping you grounded and stable. the intelectual design is why i bought these. i like these so much i bought the dark grey hull of this boot also and paid nearly full price. they are worth it. i am glad to have happy feet and teva protecting them. socks or no socks these boots rock! five stars to moosejaw for pricing. delivery and zero customer service issues.
