I never used to be able to wear strappy sandals because they would hurt and gove me blisters. Tevas are a whole other league of sandals though. I bought these maybe a year, almost 2 years ago? They are still in great shape. They get more comfortable over time, but they were also comfy right out of the box. No break-in time, and no blisters! I used to wear these in the summer when I was in MD. Now that I live in FL, this is my everyday shoe for everything - walks, hiking, errands, etc. they are also my favorite sandal to take when I'm visiting warm climates because I can walk in them all day and never get sore feet. I am tempted to get other colors, but I am trying to have some self control and wait until these out. I got these bc I needed to replace my ancient water sandals and wanted something not ugly for a change, haha. Not only are these cute (the colors are exactly as pictured) they are so much more comfortable than I expected. The straps over your instep and toes are adjustable (the back one is not) which I think is the key here. My foot is a little wide(not so much that I have to wear wide shoes) and my instep is high. The ability to make adjustments at those points was well thought out. The foot bed is super cushy and supports my high arch as well. I only wear Teva sandals in the summer. They're my favorite brand and fit. Not any more. I bought a pair and wore them for three months (daily). I started to have severe back pain that wasn't alleviated by medicine or heat pads. (I exercise regularly, am not over weight, and sleep on a firm mattress.) For a week I tried to determine the source of the pain. Finally it dawned on me...my shoes! I wore a different brand of shoes and the back pain immediately went away. I'm upset my sandal purchase only lasted 3 months, but relieved I don't have back pain. I will never purchase another pair of Teva sandals, they aren't what they used to be.
These sandals are so comfortable and cute. I get compliments on them all the time and I do really prefer them over knock off brands. I have tried knock off and the soles aren't as comfortable and I am a person with very sweaty feet and the soles in these help my feet with a better grip and I don't slip and slide in them. These also saved me on Vacation when walking in the sand. The other shoe options I had did not work at all and my brother in law had a pair of these and I wore his to the beach and they saved me. I immediately bought a pair that night so I'd have a pair by the time we got back from vacation! I can't say enough how much I love these and they are so easy to clean which is also a plus !
Back in the1 980s-early 1990s living in Sonora, CA, I purchased a pair of sandals from a small factory that opened nearby making the exact same design as these Tevas. I LOVED them-most comfortable shoes I had ever worn. Then the factory burned down and was never rebuilt. I cried years later when my sandals completely wore out. Never saw them anywhere again. When I saw this same design, I figured the copyright had been saved & my feet were so happy, I ordered 2 pair. They are wonderful, just as before! My feet are ecstatic!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I really wish Teva had 1/2 sizes. The sandal is fairly comfortable, but my toes are right at the front edge of the sandal. I have purchased the next bigger size in Teva previously, but in that pair the sandal sticks out from my toes almost an inch, and I trip over the excess sometimes. The 1/2 size would likely be perfect.The straps are a little itchy, likely due to being made from recycled goods. The ring that holds the toe straps on one sandal tends to dig into my little toe while it is not an issue at all on the opposite sandal. These shoes are cute and great for the beach, and the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because they don't give blisters which is a huge plus in my book. However, there are so many cons including that the toe box is too long causing me to trip, they're intensely slippery when wet, and most of all, these hurt my feet like no other shoe. My ankles and lower legs hurt so badly after a normal day of wearing these to the point of me becoming grouchy. My lower legs and feet get so sore. Just yesterday, I wore them to the farmers market, a few stores, and walking around my house and I was in so much pain by the end of the day. I wore them on vacation a few times and felt the same way.
I wear these to work, in the garden, and this weekend in the High Sierras. They work well with narrow feet - see adjustable Velcro. Footbed is cushiony, room for toe spread and very low drop. They make a sound when I first put them on in the a.m., a squishy sound, but stop quickly when they warm up? I bought all black. I don't see any marks on my floors. Would I wear them on a 4+ mile adventure walk? Probably not. In and out of the pickup, down a dirt road and into the river? Yes. I'm a 8 1/2 in casual shoes and 9 in running shoes. The 8s fit perfectly.
They are comfortable and light weight. There is slight arch support. My feet are sensitive and the, I don't know what you call them, joints/buckles? The plastic triangle and circular pieces that connect the straps, they are a bit uncomfortable on my feet, so I am wearing them to Toughen up my feet. As I said my feet are sensitive. I first bought the women's hydratek. Those have padding at the joint areas. So I bought these to toughen up my feet so I will not have any issues with those. 😊 when I wear these out, I will definitely buy again.
