These shoes are great! I use them during the summer over and over again. Perfect for camping, kayaking, light hikes and so onCan take them into shower on campsites, walk in the river, jump out of a kayak - they dry within minutes. The inside sole has a little grip to it so your feet won't slide in and out line it would in regular flip flops or sandals.Easy to clean, easy to storeOh also super durableThere were moments where I was worried that the cloth part would rip out of the sole. I was very positively surprised that it didn't 😁

I got the original universals back in 2019 (a different design - part of their festival line). Now, over three years later and through many adventures of hiking, water crossings, backpacking, music festivals, and good old errands and attending classes -- my Tevas are holding up beautifully!When I initially purchased them, I was worried that the foam would wear down, but my Tevas virtually show no signs of wear (other than the usual conforming to my foot) and are still so comfortable. TEVAS ARE A MUST BUY! I still get compliments on them all the time -- my tevas are truly my prized possession and I cannot recommend them enough!!

So i took my chucks and converse, because they are comfortable day to day shoes. However, i forgot about the part where my feet swell after the plane ride and during hot days. I figured I should size down bc a handful of reviews mentioned these shoes run large - from my experience they do not. I'm a size 8, my feet are kinda narrow, not at all wide, so I figured I should probably size down. I ordered a 7, and while they do fit, the band on the show that sits near the pinky toe caused discomfort. And every time I would take a step I could feel this little bump underneath the band inside the shoe bed. I'm guessing it's supposed to be there given how the band is sewn into the shoe.This wasn't any kind of shoe defect either. All the shoes I received in my recent order were like this, they all had a little bump inside the shoe bed. Plus, since I ordered these in a size smaller than my actual size, the band that I mentioned above kept rubbing ... I've never owned Teva's before and bc of the way the shoe looked in the picture I thought they'd be really stiff and hard. They are anything but. So that was really nice lol. The shoes look exactly as pictured. The colors and design are true to the photos in the listing.Such a bummer I didn't choose my normal size haha. Or even getting a size up. Anyways, pls do not size down, just get your normal shoe size. And if your feet are wide definitely size up :)
I ordered these shoes super last minute before heading off to Europe. They were amazing!! I was concerned that I hadn't broken them in but I didn't have any issue with them at all and was walking 30k + steps a day in the European sun. For someone with quite flat feet, I found these shoes to have enough support although they definitely provide a cushioned barefoot feel. In addition to this, I also have quite slim and narrow feet and sometimes struggle to find shoes that fit well but the adjustable straps on them were perfect. Honestly going to live in these shoes during summer!!
I have very flat feet and chacos just don't work for me. My feet aren't "wide," but they aren't quite the normal width. When I got these, they are AMAZING. They don't make my feet hurt or my back hurt. However, after owning them and wearing them with normal use, the soles began to fall off and detach from the base. I have reattached with a special shoe adhesive as it is so rare I find comfortable shoes, but this was rather disappointing. Just be aware that the quality is a little lacking. I would recommend if someone had similar feet to me and the need for comfort, but with a buyer beware warning!
I had a pair of Tevas that lasted a long time and I was happy to pay more for them due to the quality. My Labrador Retriever chewed the buckle off my Tevas and I needed a new pair. I couldn't find a pair for the water, (rivers, creeks, you know, muddy) with buckles. I didn't want white or light colored. It didn't look like that had any with buckles anymore or at least not the same kind. The sole on the kind I got was so thin. They have thicker but they look like platform not for being sporty. The fabric also wasn't as thick and had a lot of thread coming out of the fabric.
I bought these right before going on a sailing trip to the British Virgin Islands so I could bring just one pair of shoes, and this was an excellent choice!! I'm so happy I bought these in time. They were great for all occasions during the trip - running around on the boat deck; swimming to shore and walking/hiking the islands; wet dingy rides to shore for drinks and food; they looked cute in swim suits, dresses, shorts, everything. They didn't hurt at all and there was no "break in" period for me. They stayed secure on my feet and were easy to adjust. Great purchase and looking forward to wearing these on my next adventure!
I got these 1 week before a disney vacation. I wore them several times before we went. I will say that they do overhang in the front a tad but it wasn't an issue for me as far as tripping. We walked almost 30 miles during our 5 day trip and they were quite comfortable. The only issues I had was 1 of the buckle by my pinky toe had rubbed a little but it only caused a rough spot and not a blister thank goodness. After adjusting the straps some it stopped bothering me. The other issue was there is no traction for it to be a hiking sandal. I slipped a little a few times on slicker surfaces. Overall the sandal was fantastic and I was very pleasantly surprised that my feet were not failing me after walking that much.
I don't think these are actually a replica of the original river sandal, which I purchased many, many years ago. I purchased that sandal and appreciated its arch support. This newer version seems to have no arch support whatsoever with a very flat footbed. In addition, I've noticed among sandals and shoes in general that, as they get wider and wider and expect the straps or ties to make it fit for a narrow foot, even if they have "arch support", the shoe is too wide to provide me with any significant support. Hate that. Other than that, the sandal is fine - always liked Teva - but not sure if I would purchase again because I need a flexible arch support.
