The book has a good message and many great tactics to become more productive. However, the book also has a lot of conversations, that just makes the entrepeneur and the artist just seem like ‘yes-men’, which makes them seem more flat, uninterresting and ever cringeworthy at times. That being said, it is definitely a must-read book.

Another author in love with himself

Well might it be lauded in the blurb that Robin Sharma is "legendary" but for me, this was very over-written, turgid, and unbearably floral in it's tone.Robin just loves to take a very simple principle and complicate the living crapola out of it. When a couple of words would do, he manages to produce a couple of paragraphs.There's some good information in here, that is, if you can resist being overcome by the anesthesia of self aggrandizement and interminable, trivial, irrelevant, minutia.

Bad quality

I've had soft bound books before but they don't look this awful. You can barely see or read the fonts in most of the pages. Some pages are misprinted, not aligned. This doesn't look inspiring at all. It's actually frustrating to read this faded pages of the book when the content is supposed to be inspiring .

I would not recommend this.

In my 70 years I've not read a book that was so pretentious, obsequious and fawning as this one. I've seen stories written by thirteen year olds that should have been published before this.You need a five day ration pack, a compass and a Geiger counter to find the message in this 311 pages of "childish" verbiage. It could have easily been reduced to 75 pages.There are twenty or more books that do a much better job at teaching motivating principles than this one.To cut to the chase: \GET UP AT 5am.EXERCISE/YOGA.MEDITATE.BEGIN WRITING IN A JOURNAL. Not what you expect

If you are expecting a step by step guide this is not the book for you. This book shares the keys to a great life through a story of characters going through an experience. This is how a lot of motivational speakers share their advice, people don't sit through - 'do this, then do that' and continue to pay attention so stories are used to keep an audience engaged and I feel that this is what the author has done here.I read a lot of personal development and attend numerous workshops so when I started listening to the audiobook "The 5 AM Club" I fell into the groove of the story and paid attention to the themes behind each scene.After seeing some mixed reviews and a lot of disappointment I really wanted to share my own review. I have to agree that if you strip away the fiction style and simplify the book into a straight forward guide (which I think is what a lot of people expect from the title), perhaps the impact would be more powerful.All the same I feel that this book is packed with many powerful and tactics and ideas, now also backed by scientific findings. You just need to see beyond the story he is telling and pay attention to the tips and advice throughout the book.If you're after a straight forward guide you should try The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod, he walks you through what to do and how to do it with some background information on his own experiences. I recommend that you persist with "The 5 AM Club", there are some real benefits here.

Somewhat Corny and Clichéd But I'm Ploughing On

I was recommended to read this by my mentoring group with good reason as the principles and ideas behind The 5AM Club are logical and plausible, and for that reason alone I am ploughing on but finding it a tad tedious.Because... and it's a big because.... I found the WAY it is written to be cheesy and really just a placeholder for Robin Sharma's "book of quotes" with a corny story wrapped around them.Along the lines of The Richest Man in Babylon or Who Moved My Cheese but not nearly as original...Would I recommend it?.. Only if you're looking for the content and can get past how hackneyed and banal the format is!

The author is besotted by his own words.

This book went on, and on, and on...and on. And said practically nothing until three quarters through. Quite obviously he doesn't have an editor and does it himself. As you can tell.This is more fitting for thirteen year old girls who enjoy fantasy romance fiction.It ought to have been done in seventy five pages or less. What I discerned was, that it was vain verbiage and prissy, self aggrandizement.Indeed, I wrote down in dot points, what was needed to be done on a piece of A5. Go figure!There are way better books available than this.
