Best hand cream I’ve used!

I have extremely dry hands and suffer with chilblains as soon as the weather turns colder. This balm has been an absolute lifesaver this winter, knocking out of the park all my prescription moisturisers. I seriously could not be without this rich soothing balm now. It has warm and subtle fragrance that doesn’t clash with any perfume you might be wearing; it is super rich and yet absorbs so quickly and completely so never leaves the hands feeling sticky; and has repaired sore skin on my fingers in just a couple of days of use. Highly recommend!

I've used this hand cream for a number of years. I recently purchased a new batch only to discover the formula has been changed. This new formula is awful! Thick and greasy and doesn't absorb into the skin. Only used once and I've given away the 3 tubes I bought.Very disappointed in the product, new and not improved at all.I do not recommend this product anymore and will not be buying it again.

New version is absolutely useless

I have used Shea hand cream for many years, it was fantastic - moisturizing, fast absorbing, the only hand cream that fixed my dry skin, chipping nails and cuticles overnight, leaving skin silky smooth without the use of silicone. To my horror, the new version is pure grease. Not non-greasy as advertised, not fast absorbing as advertised, and definitely not moisturizing. It has consistency of lard, I applied it and still could move it around my hands an hour later. It gathers around nails and stiffens into a greasy layer that never sinks into skin, catching all bits of dust and fabric fluff. With my sweaty palms it's a disgusting experience. If applied overnight, it doesn't do anything, hands are even more dried up. The balm now contains silicone - a cheap attempt to artificially achieve a smoothing effect but even that doesn't work.I shop around for old versions but I don't know what I will do later. Body Shop assistant said people keep complaining and asking for bringing back old formulas. I don't understand what happened - is this new stuff cheaper to manufacture? Maybe it's worth to send it to the lab to check what's really inside? We are not all vegans, we don't need 96h moisture (WE WASH). Please start listening to your customers, a lot of us is looking for alternatives, not only for this product but body butters and more. I won't be buying again until old products are back, this £6 tube went into the bin.

Nice smelling hand balm in a handy size
26 February 2023

I suffer with dry hands during the winter months and wanted to see how effective the Shea hand balm would be. I used this daily to see if it helped relieve dryness, which it did for a few hours and needed to be reapplied to ensure hands stayed smooth. But I would expect this with any hand balm. The balm does feel a little waxy when on your hands, rather than silky smooth but does have a nice smell. And it states it nourishes for 96 hours, but I didn’t feel it moisturised/nourished for this long. The 30ml size is very handy and easily fits in your pocket or bag for when you need to revive your hands.

Non-overpowering scent, thick, intense hand balm
15 February 2023

In the winter months I get dry skin on my hands from being outdoors everyday and washing my hands alot. Most hand creams are more like lotions which don't get deep enough to help. This is where the Shea hand balm has stepped in to help my hands recover and stay moisturised after only a week of using daily due to the dryness. In less harsh weather's I can see this only being needed every few days for me, as it will be able to give 96 hours of nourishing moisture as per the label.I used the Shea Balm at at the end of a day so it could have overnight to soak in without being washed/wiped off during everyday working and tasks.Shea hand balm is a thicker consistency meaning it has created a better barrier for my hands to keep them more moisturised, and got them back ... MoreIn the winter months I get dry skin on my hands from being outdoors everyday and washing my hands alot. Nourishing balm
25 February 2023

I'm really enjoying using this balm. It goes on easily and absorbs in quickly, but is rich and nourishing for my dry hands. I like the fragrance, too - it's sweet and not too strong. I like that the packaging is recycled and recyclable aluminium, although I find the tiny cap a bit fiddly at times, especially as I'm often trying to put this on whilst holding a new baby! Overall, though, I'd definitely recommend this product an would buy it again.

One of the best hand creams I’ve come across
14 February 2023

Absolutely loved this hand cream. I work long days in a good based environment, so constantly washing my hands to ensure no cross contamination. Between the hand washing and cleaning chemicals used through a shift I go home daily with sore chapped hands that feel so dry. Often my hands hands sting and feel like every touch could break the skin. Carried this cream everywhere with me and after 5 days of use I can see and feel such a huge difference. No longer suffering with the stinging and painful hands. Helps to keep the moisture in and prevents drying out too soon. It smells quite nice and has a comforting scent to it. Already had to go and buy some more!

Really good hand cream
17 February 2023

I typically prefer wet hand creams rather than rich ones, but this is the best of the richer ones I've tried. The fragrance is pleasant and really light, and while the formula isn't oily, it does leave a "film" on the backs of my hands which I'm not super keen on. My hands have stayed in great condition while using it, and it's brilliant rubbed into cuticles too.Big points to Body Shop also for using a recycled and recyclable aluminium tube for this - it feels like I'll easily be able to squeeze out and use every drop of product, so a win for the planet all round.

Super soft hands!
17 February 2023

I absolutely love this hand balm. I am not usually a huge lover of hand creams as I find they leave a film on your hands, but this one sinks in really fast. It is super moisturising and leaves your hands feeling beautifully soft. Another thing I love about it is the smell, the Shea smell is gorgeous! This is a great staple especially for the colder months when I tend to get dry skin.

Worth buying for the smell alone
9 February 2023

The Shea Hand Balm comes in the typical Body Shop 'paint tube' style packaging - except this time it's in a 100% recycled aluminimum tube and the plastic lid is slightly smaller than other BS hand creams - so points for the recycling element! Still very easy to open even with the smaller lid and the consistency is smooth but not too runny (if I had to compare I'd say in between the consistency of the Hemp hand cream and the Almond Milk & Honey hand cream). The smell of it is divine! Really lovely, an almost sweet scent but not sickly at all. The cream absorbs well and is good for using around the nail beds (as a recent ex-nail biter with very dry cuticles this is appreciated).I'd say this is great for daytime use, the packaging says 96H nourishing moisture which is ... MoreThe Shea Hand Balm comes in the typical Body Shop 'paint tube' style packaging - except this time it's in a 100% recycled aluminimum tube and the plastic lid is slightly smaller than other BS hand creams - so points for the recycling element! Will definitely be purchasing in the future though as the consistency lends itself to being able to put the lid on without it running down your hand.
