Journeys to the end of the world, fantastic creatures, and epic battles between good and evil—what more could any reader ask for in one book? The book that has it all is The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, written in 1949 by Clive Staples Lewis. But Lewis did not stop there. Six more books followed, and together they became known as The Chronicles of Narnia. For the past fifty years, The Chronicles of Narnia have transcended the fantasy genre to become part of the canon of classic literature. Each of the seven books is a masterpiece, drawing the reader into a land where magic meets reality, and the result is a fictional world whose scope has fascinated generations. This edition presents all seven books—unabridged—in one impressive volume. The books are presented here in chronlogical order, each chapter graced with an illustration by the original artist, Pauline Baynes. Deceptively simple and direct, The Chronicles of Narnia continue to captivate fans with adventures, characters, and truths that speak to readers of all ages, even fifty years after they were first published.

This is a superb version of the C.S. Lewis story - it is abridged, of course, as this is a picture book, but it is done discreetly, so any young reader will soon be inspired to read the full novel. The pastel pictures by Christian Birmingham are truly divine, and create the perfect atmosphere of an intriguing, snowy world behind the wardrobe door, and the peculiar creatures who inhabit Narnia. A brilliant book - just the thing to spark a child's imagination!

This boxed set was in perfect shape and fully complete. My wife had read the books herself as a teenager and then again to our children when they were little. But she wanted to read them again since we recently went to a movie of C.S. Lewis "The Most Reluctant Convert". With each reading you get more and more layers of entertaining deep thinking.

Classic read for all ages. Book 2 after the magicians nephew. This is more of Introduction into the world of Narnia .part of the set the chronicles of Narnia. And guess what it does? have a lion a Witch and a very special wardrobe. Four siblings enter a strange and violent world and each discover new strengths and weaknesses. A story that has stood the test of time. I bought to replace the original and holds special memories for both me and my son. it was part of the set bought for me back in the 1970s.I passed them on to My son has enjoyed them and its a part of growing up being able to read independently and discuss the plot etc with adults who had the same experience as children is something magical.

They really are amazing books I'd never read them before then I saw the whole collection for a bargain and couldn't resist, I now wish I'd read them years ago! They chronicle the entirety of Narnia's history, with all the children that have ever known this magical land, each unique story is filled with more and more fun, magic and adventures, I would recommend these books for children and adults alike! I love these books and I'll be reading them again and again! Enjoy!
My all-time favourite books by CS Lewis. Timeless classics for both adults and children. Wish I had the complete set during the very first lockdown. I can now sit all cosy and warm under my duvet during the Christmas break and start with the Magican's Nephew.
This was purchased as a Christmas Gift for a young familymember. I find it interesting that they are in order by C S Lewis' opinion of the correct order in which to read them. This child is an avid reader, I hope that she enjoys them.
Beautifully boxed set of the Chronicles of Narnia. A must for any parent who wants to inspire their children with uplifiting fantasy stories that are exciting but that also teach Christian morality, the struggle between good and evil, ethics, character, and the never ending need for good manners.
If you have never read the Chronicles of Narnia, treat yourself to this set. They are disguised as children’s books and while children love them for the adventures, they deeply speak to adults on a moral level and call us to be better.
Lovely colourful boxed presentation set. All seven of the Chronicles including of course The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Great value for money at £10. Paper print and font in keeping with the publication - would recommend for children and adults.
The font is a bit hard to read, as it must have been scaled down from a larger print, and hasn't adjusted evenly - appearing blocky, bold & clumpy. This boxset was good value for money, on discount, but I would have been disappointed with the quality if I'd paid full price.I'd recommend buying the slightly larger books as the font is likely to be clearer.
