Final update: Well after extensive play (I'm almost up to level 80 on a couple of stats now), I can report that the bugs in Skyrim are mostly minor and do not detract from the gameplay. Yes, the landscape isn't perfectly solid and grass sometimes sways through a rock. Yes, the odd graphical glitch exists. Yes, the game even locked solid during a dragon battle. But it's still wonderful. Look past the imperfections and become immersed in an amazing game. But save regularly. ;-)Update: After a complete restart and saving the game at the earliest opportunity (i.e. as soon as I had control of my character), I can now save and play the game normally. Instant two star boost to my review, with further star if the game behaves itself.Original review:What a disappointment! ... MoreFinal update: Well after extensive play (I'm almost up to level 80 on a couple of stats now), I can report that the bugs in Skyrim are mostly minor and do not detract from the gameplay. Skyrim is excellent, but dealing with the PS3 version bugs seems to be almost a sub-game itself. I played a couple of hours into the game and thought I'd stop for the night. Only the save option is ghosted out, preventing me from saving my progress. So I Google'd for a solution and discovered I might need to delete the last patch and decline to download it when prompted. Or maybe it's another of the many, many problems listed in the giant Skyrim problem FAQ I read. As I've also got Skyrim on the 360 (now sadly lost to my son) which just worked without issue, playing Skyrim on the update-obsessed PS3 was somewhat of a "Are you freaking kidding me?" experience.I'll probably sort the problems out myself in due course, b.

Awesome game. One of my all-time favourites. I've already bought it once before when it came out, played it for about 300 hours. Put another 120 or so in on this version - The DLC is well worth the extra. Why not 5 stars? Because having seen it running on a bottom-end laptop it makes the PS3 experience look pathetic. The loading times on the PS3 are excruciating, and actually make you not want to play the game when you know you are going to be going through a few loading screens to get to where you need to. So, I spent half a day getting a windows partition on my high-end MacBook and I will never, ever play this game on PS3 again. Speed, graphics and functionality (hotkeys, SkyUI mod) are all vastly better on the computer version.

Playing for 1 hour is impossible...it leads to days without food & water, ironically so I can feed & water my character! Well, actually, to heck with the food & water - it's all about the looting & the sneaking & the smelting & the cooking & the marrying & the swordfighting & the spells & the bard-singing & the questing & the weird creatures & the DRAGONS! Yes...DRAGONS! FUS RO DAH! My one criticism of Skyrim is it's quite easy to get a little sick of the wintry climate & long for the Imperial City, but maybe that's cz I don't have the hardy blood of a Nord! Or maybe it's just that the game sucks you in so much that you sit wrapped in a scarf & blanket, wearing hat & gloves, desperately trying to keep at bay the cold that's seeping into your bones... What can I say, I am an adopted Nord and after almost a year from my purchase and some 340 hours I am still playing this amazing game (level 105, completing the Dragonborn DLC as we speak) !!! Of course the graphics are not comparable with The Witcher 3 (which I love as well... ah Geralt!...) because the game is old-ish, and if you are the occasional gamer not ready to invest some serious time in learning all tricks (Alchemy!) maybe this is not the game for you, but it is for me and some other 20 (twenty!) millions of gamers (and counting). I feel at home in snowy and cold Skyrim, where I go around exploring every corner, from the bottom of the seas to the top of the mountains with my fully customised character and my virtual best-friend follower Lydia prompting me ... MoreWhat can I say, I am an adopted Nord and after almost a year from my purchase and some 340 hours I am still playing this amazing game (level 105, completing the Dragonborn DLC as we speak) !!! It's a cave! I wonder what is inside!"). The game truly gives you a second life and I promise you, you will miss Skyrim if you don't play it for a few days. It's like being away from home.I play as a fierce, proud Stormcloak rebel (I couldn't possibly fight against lovely Ralof, the hot rebel and first character you see in the game, eh! But you can play as an aka-ancient-Roman "Imperial" invader, if you prefer), NPCs recognise my character as one of them when we meet (they even comment on my Stormcloak uniform...amazing!) and yes, through my Avatar I have another life there. After so many hours, the game is still exciting with its riddles and stories, and.
So Skyrim is the most amazing game in my opinion of the RPG genre apart from Fallout Games. This Big open world is full of lots of things and quests any man or woman can explore. the story is also Amazing and the fact you can switch between third and first person view is a thing that sets these games apart from all the other games a brilliant feature if i might say so myself. The reason is because you can use swords and Bows but unlike any other game you can use a bow in 1st person mode to get a better aim on the target, you can dual wield swords and you can cast magic in both hands or one and have a weapon in the other you can also specialize in skills made for you so if your a prefered archer or swords man or you prefer to sneak or stealthily dispatch targets and ... MoreSo Skyrim is the most amazing game in my opinion of the RPG genre apart from Fallout Games. All in all 5 star rating.
Skyrim was released in 2011, ever since I've been playing. this is a good game for someone that likes adventures. the lore of Skyrim has everything from elves to orcs. mages, wizards dragons, Kajit are cat like beings that are master traders, thieves and ruthless cut throats. I love this game been playing for thirteen years and I've beat the main quest, however the game never runs out of things for you to do. This is a open world, build your character, survive the onslaught of enemies
Skyrim is such an unbelievably good game. For those that enjoy RPG's and even for those who don't normally, Skyrim offers a ton of adventuring, looting, and stories. The legendary edition brings together the outstanding DLC released for the game:Hearthfire (to activate it go to a city and a courier will give you a note about it), this DLC allows you to build a property for your character, deck it out how you like, and adopt kids. It's more a novelty than anything else, and true to life the kids get annoying (always asking for money or a gift). However I enjoyed building my house from a humble one bedroom to a large dragonborn mansion (all my ill-gotten gains ended up in my house). The next DLC is Dragonborn (to activate it go to a city and you'll be accosted by two cult members). I really liked this DLC, the story takes place off Skyrim in Solstheim. To go there you take a boat at Wildhelm. It follows a previous Dragonborn who is slowly taking control of Solstheim, you must investigate this new danger and put an end to it. Added to this Solstheim has its own mini quests (including journeys into the Oblivion realm again) as well and plenty of new loot. Finally there's Dawnguard. This takes place within Skyrim though you will travel to both the Dawnguard fort and the vampire castle which are off the standard map. To activate just go to your nearest city and speak to a guard. In this DLC you get to make a choice early to either fight the vampire hordes, or become a vampire. Both.
I have somewhere around 40hrs in this game and I quite like it. It's not my usual cup of tea, but I have fun being a menace in the simulated society. My dad however, is a completely different kind of player. He was curious about it one night when he saw me playing for a bit. I set him up on my guest account creating a character and I basically lost my Switch for an entire month after that!!So, I bought him this physical copy and we transferred his save data over (fairly easy process btw, thanks Nintendo). He's now somewhere in the 50s with his orc werewolf and has nearly completed the entire map! He's an OG WOW player from back in the day, so I'm not surprised about his ability to grind and the bizarre little exploits he's managed to find embedded within the ... MoreI have somewhere around 40hrs in this game and I quite like it.
