Save the wise kingdom of Hyrule with the wisdom of Princess Zelda The people of Hyrule are being stolen away by strange rifts that have appeared, and with a certain swordsman among those missing, itâs up to Princess Zelda to save her kingdom. Team up with the mysterious fairy, Tri, and use the power of the Tri Rod to learn how to create echoes - imitations of things found in the environment. You can then recreate those echoes whenever you like to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Create echoes like water blocks to reach new heights, make bridges out of old beds, throw rocks at foes, or find your own creative combination of echoes to do things your way. You can even create echoes of monsters to fight at your side in combat!

I have played every game since the first one. This is like a modern, cute cross between Link to the Past and Ocarina. This is a great game for kids. Itâs not terribly hard and finding ways to use the echoes as weapons and to traverse. The terrain is ridiculously fun. It is what it is, itâs not BOTW. Considering they said it would be a few years until another Zelda entry came out. People should look at this as a little gift. Itâs a really cute game and definitely a good one for children, it is creative and imaginative.

Criticism of this game refer to it as âTears of the Kingdom lite.â There are quite a few similarities, but this game stands on its own.Puzzles are fun to solve, solutions are plentiful, and the game just begs you to âbreakâ the world. Traditional dungeons are back, along with âriftsâ which are mini dungeons that are perfect for the handheld aspect of the Switch. Controls are tight and intuitive, and the game works well in handheld mode.Additionally, itâs the first game you can actually play as the titular Princess (we donât count those CD-i games). Strongly recommended for now or as a gift for the holiday season.

Nintendoâs Echoes of Wisdom is a wonderful classic new game following the Zelda theme further into the future. Itâs rich in color and details. The musical score is some of the best ever offered. The game play is mostly linear meaning youâre directed to achieve goals in a certain order. Although this absolutely doesnât mean you are not free to explore the land of Hyrule as you please. It just means you have to accomplish set goals to open new areas of the giant map. Some of the goals are met by solving puzzles and dungeons, some of which can be perplexing but all can be solved through trial and error. Most importantly, Echoes of Wisdom is really fun to play.
Getting the bad out first. Pre-order bonus was missing as is the only complaint I've seen anyone else have. I spoke to an agent named Roger a few days ago who told me that Best Buy would still be honoring some of the pre-order bonuses and that I would have to check my app over the next few days (of speaking to them) to watch for the acrylic stand to be shipped to me. Still no change as of yet. Now to the game itself. Echoes of Wisdom has a gorgeous world with a very pleasing soundtrack as well. The characters are memorable and the game contains a multitude of mission style callbacks and easter eggs to discover from other series favorites. The ability to find different solutions to certain challenges is incredibly fun and I'm always testing out different combinations ... MoreGetting the bad out first. Nintendo managed to capture the feel of Tears of The Kingdoms player driven creativity in a more traditional style game and it plays incredibly well. A few frame rate issues that most reviews online will address but it is a phenomenal game.
I've only completed a couple of dungeons and have an inventory with many missing items, so I don't know how far the game I am, but I'm enjoying it so far and it definitely plays differently to other Zelda games. My main concern after seeing the trailers was that I'd resort to just using the same few items over and over despite how many there are, but this hasn't been the case as there's always a new item (echo) around the corner that makes a particular task easier - such as getting up a high ledge, traversing a gap or defeating a particular enemy - so even when I think I've got my new favourite item, I haven't used it for too long before it's been replaced. The initial part of the game is very linear but this acts as a tutorial introducing various items and ... MoreI've only completed a couple of dungeons and have an inventory with many missing items, so I don't know how far the game I am, but I'm enjoying it so far and it definitely plays differently to other Zelda games. The initial part of the game is very linear but this acts as a tutorial introducing various items and techniques, but I feel some people may get stuck on this as you have to think smart about how to get through those sections, and if you can't figure it out there's nothing else to do (unlike BotW or TotK). In this aspect it does feel like Zelda's of old, and I like that - see, in BotW or TotK, most of the cerebral stuff was in the shrines or dungeons, but if you couldn't figure the puzzle out, you could just leave and do something else instead, you wouldn't need to complete them (even though I did) to finish the game .However, like BotW and TotK, and unlike Zelda's of old, you can complete the puzzles however you see fit. For example there was one cave (and these caves I have found feel a bit like the shrines in that they are self contained mini puzzles that you don't have to complete) where there was a floating crate and some impassable metal bars, and a crate on the other side, and you had to use the bind (can't remember name) to move this other crate onto a switch while standing on the floating crate. The first room was easy, than the next was a bit harder, then the final room was a real head-scratcher. However, after a few tries, I realised I could just project an echo of a crate onto the switch really easily - that may not have been the 'correct' thing to do, but I'd outsmarted the developers in a way - and people had done similar things in the shrines of BotW/TotK, so is it really cheating? The game also isn't fully open-world. There is a story where you are suggested to go from one point to the next, unlike BotW/TotK where you are given multiple options of destination. However, in between the next main task, you can wonder off wherever you like, I guess - I haven't ventured too far off the current path, but it doesn't seem like anything is stopping you.The only main criticism, apart from it often relying on smartly solving puzzles that may get some people stuck, is that some areas have so many enemies at once, and for the most part you can't just attack them with an unlimited sword as Link could. You have to generate 'echoes' of enemies you've already defeated, but depending on the enemy and you're current level, you'll be limited to what you can create. You usually can have a few weak 'familiars' or 1 strong one fighting on you behalf. However, like Chun-li Vs Zangief, weak and quick, or strong but slow. If you're quick familiars can get in hits before they take them then you may prevail, but if you opt for a strong familiar I often find they can't get a hit in before they're knocked back by the enemy, so end up being useless sometimes. Particularly frustrating is when your familiar is just standing there right next to the enemy and isn't attacking. There's also at least one area where there's a particular enemy that can 'freeze' you and your familiars and the other enemies also keep attacking you, and just as you're unfreezed, you'll be lucky to get in any hits before it happens again. There are certain enemies (as echoes/familiars) that are more suited to defeating other enemies, but when there's 3 different kinds of enemy on screen, you're probably not going to win, so it's best to run away and try and edge into the area and pick them off separately. So all in all, I think if you're an old school Zelda fan like me, you'll be right at home with this, but if you're more used to just playing BotW/TotK where you can meander off and just do whatever if something gets too challenging (like my kids do) then I think this could be a bit too tough or frustrating.
Havenât actually finished the game yet but itâs really cute. Itâs in the style and obviously using the same game engine as the remake of Linksâs Awakening for the switch. Itâs great that they released this because TotK in my opinion wasnât as good as I had hoped. I would rather have one of these games every year or two than go 6+ years between titles. Iâve owned pretty much every Zelda title since the gold cartridge on NES and this one has great throwbacks to so many of the classics. The new mechanics are also a lot of fun.
I give the design / development team on this game props for trying something new. But the end result is a rather boring and tedious combat system that has very little of the Zelda charm. This is the first Zelda game I've ever played in my life (and I've been playing since the first original on the NES) that I've had to force myself to keep playing just to get more of the story. The entire time playing I'm bored and just not feeling it.The puzzles are simplistic and immediately obvious. In fact pretty much everything is. Meet some random NPC in the world? Yep you pretty much already know what is going to happen with them before you even speak with them.I'm just extremely disappointed in this. The game was original conceptualized and designed as a world / dungeon builder game, and some new head came in after a year or so development and upended all of it to push it in the direction it ended up.
I am beyond happy with everything. Associate even made sure that my gift was in good condition. And reassured me avout how acrylic stands have a film you peak back but wanted to make sure I was still happy and comfortable with the quality of everything before leaving. And didnt make my ocd self feel bad for being concerned. They did acknowledge the first one might have been damaged so we both agreed to go with the third option he presented me because this way at least only the clear base would be damaged if we were wrong. Haha so truly cannot be more thankful for the experience. Only a slight delay in pick up, but was able to grab it the next morning and everything areived safely and in a quality I am happy with. In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Princess Zelda takes the lead in an adventure that marries the best aspects of classic Zelda gameplay with a twist of Pokemon. This version of Hyrule Kingdom presents all the best locations and characters we've grown to love, and tasks Zelda with saving the day by capturing the "echoes" of enemies she defeats and objects she encounters to fight by her side and navigate the terrain. This Pokemon style gameplay is a fun and challenging twist to the core Legend of Zelda formula. The graphics pop, the characters are adorable, and the puzzles keep me (42) and my daughter (9) scratching our heads, but feeling like geniuses when we finally solve them.
