I can’t sing enough high praise for these pants. I use them year round, as rain paints and an over shell in the winter which is revolutionary to keeping me warm. The calf zipper makes these pants more breathable during activity or warmer weather. Haven’t had any problem with my pants for 5 years and bought these as a gift. This model seems longer than mine, but with the Velcro strap at the bottom and going over boots it should be okay.

I originally found these pants on sale through another retailer but in the wrong size. Despite them being too small, I loved them so much I was determined to find them in the correct size, even if full price. They sit pretty high and are snug around the waist and bum, hence why I sized up. But they are a great length, really lightweight, and comfortable. The zips at the bottom are great for slipping them on/off over boots. I haven't had a chance to really exert myself in them yet, so can't speak to breathability.

Compact and Light for travelling, I used it for lighter rain condition and all good. For prolonged heavy rain you may need something more substantial. East to pull up. I love the zipper at the bottom but would like to be able to velcro the bottom a bit more fitted.

Spent a week in the Pacific Northwest and bought this to be used in snow. It's basically a rain jacket for legs, so definitely expect to layer up. Mine held up really well to the wind and snow. I wore a base layer, sweatpants, then these pants, and it did the trick! I ordered my normal size (medium) and it was roomy enough for layering still. I'm 5'2, 130 lbs.
I bought these this past summer to throw on when the weather turns, but have recently been using them on winter hikes over my wool base layer to keep me dry and windproof. Yesterday I wore them in 15 degree weather and they did great! My legs were warm the whole hike, I was able to sit in the snow without getting a soggy butt, and didn't feel the wind at the summit.Bonus points for being super lightweight and packable. They take up no space in my small daypack. Also a fan of the half zips. Theyre easy to take on and off without removing my bulky Hoka boots, and nice to vent heat on warmer days.I did go for the Short length after reading other reviews about them running long. Happy I did, the length is perfect! Medium is true to size as well. I usually wear size ... MoreI bought these this past summer to throw on when the weather turns, but have recently been using them on winter hikes over my wool base layer to keep me dry and windproof. I live in Vancouver, BC and bike commute so I really need good rain pants for the winter. The problem is that I'm 5'2 and a size 14 (16 petite). It's really hard to find any active wear in my size and pants are the worst because they can't easily be hemmed due to all the things they've got going on at the cuffs.I got both the Large and XL because I have an XL Northface jacket that is pretty loose around my hips now. I tried both over my capris that I bike in. I couldn't get the Large on and the XL 'fit' but not well enough to bike in. They were super low in the back, super tight in the thighs and pant legs from the knee down are SUPER wide. Even with the velcro at it's tightest, there's no way I could tuck these into my rain booties.I ended up sending both pairs ... MoreI live in Vancouver, BC and bike commute so I really need good rain pants for the winter. The search for rain pants continues...I think these could work for you if you are doing something where you are wearing boots (so the wide legs were needed) and didn't need much knee articulation. Maybe hiking? Or winter sports if you have an insulating layer underneath. These also pack up small so they'd be good travel rain paints.
I bought these in an XS as I have a pair of older north face rain paints in a small and they are quite baggy. I am 5'9, 130 lbs, 27 waist. Lulu sz 4-6, agole/jeans usually 25. Reviews on here were mixed in terms of these being too big or too small. They are definitely small. I couldn't even get these up my leg. I am tempted to get a large but imagine they will be too big (rest are sold out). They seem really good otherwise - pockets, vents, so giving them a 4 for that. Mind you, I am getting these as a replacement for my old north face where the inner lining is peeling off. (But they had a good life). I guess I will have to wait until they stock back up!
I bought these about a month ago because I wanted something I could kayak, hike and bird watch in even in the rain. I hoped that to a certain extent, the pants would act as windstoppers, too. Having now used them (in winter) a couple times: they do keep the rain off and ease the wind a little (obvs not the point of them, so that I'm not 100% protected from the wind isn't a great disappointment). They repel water well. I like the elastic in the waistband. Having it makes the pants not feel too tight sitting in my kayak, even with a little extra COVID weight around my waist. One thing I'm interested to know is how comfortable these will be in summer in the rain - will they make legs feel sweaty on the inside? Also --- the pants (I got large) are a little long on me ... MoreI bought these about a month ago because I wanted something I could kayak, hike and bird watch in even in the rain. Last year, I had the previous Venture 2 Half Zip pants, and had buyer's remorse; therefore, I finally returned it to the online retailer that I had purchased it from, after realizing that there are better rain pants out there, especially from one of TNF's competitors, which is well known, but is not for the masses as TNF is...which is is good. TNF has lost it's brand cachet because it is now ubiquitous. The previous Venture pants ran small, was also short in length, even though they were a regular, and was also too tight in the waist area. These Venture pants still have the same problem, but they do not run as small, and the material is thicker, which makes the pants seem to be of a higher quality. The gray color is nice, and lends to the stylishness of the pants. ... MoreLast year, I had the previous Venture 2 Half Zip pants, and had buyer's remorse; therefore, I finally returned it to the online retailer that I had purchased it from, after realizing that there are better rain pants out there, especially from one of TNF's competitors, which is well known, but is not for the masses as TNF is...which is is good. The gray color is nice, and lends to the stylishness of the pants. It would be nice if the length could be longer, perhaps by one half to an inch. I did not like that the previous pants were unlined, and had a thin material. The the newer version has a thicker material to compensate for it being unlined.
Great light weight pant. This is the second pair I've purchased. The first pair had a mesh breathable lining throughout their entire pant from waist to ankle cuff, this one just has the pockets as mesh. So after a long period of time they may saturate and stick to your leg.I've usually just worn in the cooler fall/winter season with long john's with great success. Note: they are not insulated but that's the affect in going for.For the price, well worth the money, I practically live in them, from light jogging in foul weather, hiking in cool weather, walking the dogs and downhill skiing with two extra layer thin layers.
