One thing I dislike is we don’t know the weight of the down inside the jacket so I don’t think it’s that extra warm honestly. -10 or -15C max. Also it’s a rather cropped jacket so I am worried I will have to tuck my T-shirt’s and sweaters in which wouldn’t be comfortable. I just tried it on once and I am considering returning. Great hard-to-find down jacket. I love the styling and convenience of being able to stuff the whole jacket into its own pocket. Great for air travel from warm climates to cold climates and back. Through Nordstrom, I was able to find the right color and size that I wanted at an excellent price. This isn't always the case with others - even at North Face's own stores!

The coat looks great. I was after this specific one from north face because it has the puffy 90's appearance with the strong logo on back & front. Although its made from down its not warm enough by itself for winter which i found a bit disappointing, im sure my previous one was warmer on its own. Kind of defeats the purpose of buying it if you still need to boost it with multiple layers. Sizes also run smaller than normal so id upgrade to XL if you fit medium/large usually
I wore this coat for the first time today in 38 degree weather. It’s a surprisingly nice coat with a nice comfy hood, great styling, a puffy look, snug fitting cuffs, and decent warmth. A major drawback are the tiny side pockets, the only external pockets, and the single small internal zipped pocket. The 550 fill power down I would consider another drawback to the coat. But it’s warm enough for a hip length coat. And the color scheme and styling are very nice. As with all North Face coats, I had to downsize. I bought a Medium although I normally wear a Large, and the Medium fit is good, even the sleeves.
I would have liked this jacket to be good. It’s stylish with nice color schemes, has deep pockets, and is fairly warm. But the sleeves are too short (even in Large when I normally wear Medium in North Face coats), the hem is too high, and the “hood” is simply a piece of nylon that unfolds out of the collar. For that reason alone, this coat is strictly a shoulder season (Spring/Fall) coat. The hood is a nice sun protector but you’ll need a warm hat in Winter. A disappointing coat.
I brought the jacket for my son as his everyday winter jacket. We live in Winnipeg, MB where the winter weather can be as low as -30 to -35 C during the day. My son walks to school and needs a well insulated jacket to keep him warm. He was very happy with his last North Face Jacket. We returned the Nuptse jacket because my son found the length of the jacket was too short. Other than the jacket length there were no other concerns.
I received this a few days ago and it is true to size XS. I was afraid this jacket would look a little too puffy but it looks great. I love how the hood can be easily hidden when it’s not raining. So far I’ve used it in light to normal rain and it’s managed to not soak through, it also dries very quick when hung up inside. I was surprised by how warm the jacket is it’s -1 degrees at the moment and this jacket is perfect for the cold whether. The pockets are spacious and secure also.

As a responsible customer, I checked the size guide under the jacket but as I see now it was false! The model wearing the jacket was 1.70cm while I am 1.54cm and the same size of the jacket sits lower at her waist and higher at mine. That’s not even good for me because as much as I like the jacket you know that it won’t be possible to wear a hoodie inside of it, or too much clothing. The best heavy duty parka ever created. This is the ultimate heavy duty parka for the coldest winter. Whether you live in a region that is wet, windy, blistering cold or all of the above, this is the perfect parka for all. A heavy down parka but I don't the heaviness because once I put this parka on, I feel absolutely nothing from the outside environment. This parka is very very warm and helps retain body heat very well. The sleeves are the perfect length and the zippers are heavy duty. The Black on Black is my favorite duty to it's easy to pair with a outfit. Be very careful layering with this parka or else you'll easily over heat.
