I use this vest during gym workouts in all forms, especially cardio. It's super clutch to have water available to stay hydrated. Also it's mad lightweight and stylish. I like the storage compartments too for AirPods, cards, & weights. I use this just to wear as a style piece too especially on extremely hot days, hydration is imperative! I need y'all to create more color ways tho, like yellow, orange, cobalt blue, green, etc. I'd cop every color. I recommend this runners vest to anyone who is athletic or practices a healthy lifestyle, one of my new favorite additions to my life and wardrobe!

I love this vest! I have owned Salomon vests in 2L, 5L, and 12L and after using The North Face vest I will never go back to the Salomon vests. I was having a lot of issues with chaffing around my rib cage and on my back with the Salomon vests. Since I started using The North Face vest I have had no chaffing problems. It's comfortable and looks good! If you're curious on sizing like I was, they are unisex. I wear a 4-6 in Lululemon tops (my waist is 26.5 inches and my chest is 35 inches) and ordered an XS in the Flight Race Day vest. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!As a current VF employee and active runner this vest is designed with such lightweight fabric and fits comfortably however, while running either on the trails or road running, the vest bounces excessively whenever the water packs are filled. Unfortunately it throws off my rhythm while running, At this point it'll be useful for just leisure hiking. Total shame!!I'm sure TNF can make such improvements by designing better fasteners in order to prevent the vest from bouncing so much.#NeverStopExploring

Bought the vest for my longer trail runs and have been using it for a few weeks now. Really liking it, it fits great (size XS, I am a female,173cm and 65kg) and has quite some pockets to take along water, snacks, keys and my phone. It bounces a little when the flasks are full but nothing crazy and not that much that it would bother me. The phone pocket is too small for a regular iphone but other pockets are big enough to hold it safely during runs. I would recommend it though go for a smaller size if you want it too fit tight (I usually wear size m shirts but size xs of vest fits well, a size bigger would definitely have been too big).
I really wanted to love this vest after seeing it rated so highly in Runner's World and other online reviews. But the vest just does not fit me correctly. I imagine there are some folks that this will fit great and work out great. As a man, I felt like this was the closest I would feel to running as a woman without a sports bra. I wish there was a way to further cinch down the water bottles.
The fit is good and the pocket configuration is ok. The fabric is super light, but has a silky sheen to it and no matter how I size it...it slides around on your body if you have anything in the pack. Previous model was wayyyy better. This current model has a useless back pouch that's supposed to be for poles, but that's useless. As I said before...previous model was way better. Also the water bottle compartments are too small and the water bottle pulls are a good idea...but also useless! The previous model was more like an improvement of a Nathan pack...but this one is definitely NOT worth buying.

Rear pocket is spacious- can usually fit 2-3 shirts and a packed up rain jacket with ample room. Pole pocket is a bit difficult to use while running until you figure it out- also a little annoying hitting your elbows on the poles. I've seen complaints about fit- I'm 5'9", 145 lbs, and was right in between the S/XS. Saw reviews that the vest ran large so opted for the XS. Got this as a gift after wanting a light weight vest for midsized runs. I am 5'2" and 120 and I bought the small. Cinched as tight as impossible, this is just like a piece of loose fabric flapping about with bottles stuffed in front. When full, they literally bounce up and hit me as I run. As other reviewers have stated, I also got chaffing on my collarbone on both sides from the friction caused by the constant bounce. In addition, the little loop that goes over the water soft flask ripped out the first time I pulled on it. The material has become frayed on the pockets after 3 outings with the pack. Terrible product that I can't believe was actually tested on runners. I think if you are a walker or a hiker, then it is fine, just don't do anything to cause a bounce.
Did my first 25k trail race this past weekend. Long time road runner and cyclist. Have used hydration bladders, belts and bottles in the past but wanted a vest for this race. Researched The North Face Flight Race Day 8 Vest Pack and liked the features, weight and look. Moosejaw got it too me with time to spare. Did a few test runs to geteverything adjusted. Come race time was not disappointed. The vest perform as advertised…Didn’t bounce, was easy to drink from the included flasks, access the pockets for gels and had no chafing issues. Parts of the trail were technical so being able to access fuel and hydration intuitively was a necessity. I would recommend The North Face Flight Race Day 8 Vest Pack for anyone looking for similar uses.
I bought this for long distance running/ultra running. My first try on I was in love. The material is light weight and great. However, my first actual wear for a run with this vest left me with large cuts on my collar bone/shoulders, and across my mid back from the rubbing of the seams (even through a shirt).The fit is off so there is no support for the weight of the bottles/fuel/phone around the chest or bottom of the vest, the only place that pulls the weight is on the shoulders. But honestly, the bigger reason for my negative review is that I have now reached out to The North Face 3 times about the issues I had with the vest to no response.
