I had purchased a couple TNF sweaters like this previously - or so I thought - and was hoping to get another favorite sweatshirt in that beautiful green but sadly, this sweatshirt is not made the same. It feels rough, stiff, and the neck fits odd. It's a different fit entirely and honestly I am going to return it. I wanted to love this like the previous ones but it's just not great. Purchase with caution!

I love this sweatshirt. I have it in several colors at this point, It's comfy (size up though, not stretchy), in sturdy yet soft (inside is so soft to the touch) quality material. I just wish TNF hadn't jumbo sized the patch this year. It's obnoxious. The cute small logo patch was better and more versatile (didn't look so sporty, so shirt worked better in more situations).

I LOVE the simple styling of this NF heritage patch sweatshirt that I literally purchase every single color. Northface makes every color so pretty. The tiny little NF logo patch is perfect for someone who wants to wear NF gear without it screaming that it's NF. The fit is beyond. It goes great with leggings because it's long enough to cover your behind. My daughters always steal my sweatshirts, so I've stocked up on these and even bought one as a gift. Who can not love these? They do pile after some wear, but I have a sweater shaver to bring these back to life. They're perfect for camping, going out grocery shopping, or just lounging around.

So, like other reviewers mentioned, this sweatshirt really doesn't have any stretch to it (which made me a little hesitant to buy it), but it really is suprisingly soft on the inside and the the fit is really great - its actually kind of slimming, which I love. The green color is also so beautiful, exactly like in the image, a very forest green and looks great. I only hope it doesnt fade after a couple washes. Happy with this puchase! (Got it on sale)
The fabric is now 50% cotton 50% poly vs 69% cotton 31% poly compared to the previous version. The crew neck and hip hems are much more narrow and it seems the whole cut of the sweatshirt is now more straight than relaxed, making it less flattering and lacking that great "lived in" comfy feeling. The updated colors and patch are super cute, but fabric and fit change outweigh that. Bought same size as before, would probably size up to get the same fit but the fabric would still feel more scratchy and less cozy.
I’ve never been a person to buy clothing new at stores (avid thrifter) but I had a discount and decided to try this sweatshirt and I couldn’t be happier! This thing is a new staple in my wardrobe. Perfect for a bonfire and keeping you warm while camping or hiking. The material is so soft and high quality. I would absolutely recommend! I even think I’ll rebuy another color in the future! This piece doesn’t have a lot of room so make sure not to size down. I usually wear a small but I bought a medium and it still only has a little bit of extra room for coziness.
I was worried about the reviews that said this shirt is stiff, so when it arrived, I immediately opened it. This is not a buttery, soft shirt. It does have a slight canvas feel to the fabric, but that tells me the shirt will last a long time. It has a tight weave on a medium weight fabric which is great for keeping warmth in and wind out without bulk. I will probably wear a tank underneath to get a layering effect. I will wear this camping and while running errands. I'm 5'4, 185 with an athletic build. I got an XL and it is roomy without being overly large.
I bought the previous version of this and an extra large, and it fit great. A little roomy, but still fit it. Now I got this one and it’s tight. And no, I’ve not put on weight since the other one. It’s ridiculous why you have to change this up. And I am a true extra-large. So if this is too small, it’s because you are not being realistic, or consistent with your products. It fits, but it’s tight around the shoulders and just not roomy like a sweatshirt would be. Ridiculous. I will be returning and you will lose my business.
Like many other reviewers, I agree that this sweater lacks the stretch of last season's sweater and because of that, you do have to go up one size from last year (small last year, medium this year to have the same look). If you do not own last year's version, order your usual size but if you have problems with shoulder mobility, I would recommend going up one size purely bc it's harder to get on. Once it's on, the inside is quite soft and cozy. I also purchased the men's version for my husband and although he had some trouble getting over his shoulders, he liked the fit bc it wasn't bulky and could be worn under his puffy vest.
This used to be my favorite sweatshirt-I own it in multiple different colors and had been hoping to purchase it in another color. However, this one is much boxier, fits terribly, and is scratchy. Huge bummer, since this used to be a very flattering sweatshirt that was very soft. I wish I had purchased more colors before, but I will treasure the pieces I have (and hope that maybe the old version comes back one day!).
