I bought this jacket for a casual winter coat/fashion piece. After watching some videos on Youtube, I opted to go with a Medium. I'm 6'1, 195lbs, 31x32" pants, muscular chest/back but slimmer in the arms and legs, and typically wear large tops and bottoms. The medium looks great on me. It has a nice retro cropped fit at the stomach, and it's not overly baggy on the sides. The hidden hood was also a nice surprise. Cinch cords on the hood and waist too. It's very warm and feels to be a high quality jacket, and I'm very happy with the styling. If I was buying this for a dedicated winter jacket, I'd probably buy the large though. I can very tightly fit a Nike sweatshirt and t-shirt under this and fully zip it if necessary, but anything more than that and it's too ... MoreI bought this jacket for a casual winter coat/fashion piece. The sleeves are just long enough, but if I raise or extend my arms above my head, then my wrists and stomach are exposed due to the purposeful retro sizing. However, I bought this for a casual cold weather jacket that I will usually rock unzipped for short periods of time outside so I am happy with my purchase, but it goes great as a layering piece too. It fits perfectly under my trusty 10 year old hooded Denali jacket (size XL)

I am 5'6" or 5'7" and 125lbs. I have multiple North Face jackets. I am a North Face small. At first, the Nuptse jacket seemed like the perfect jacket. Small was the correct size as are all my other jackets. The arm length was correct. The width was just enough to allow to me layer on something else. If I had a medium, I would be swimming in my jacket. The jacket was lightweight, warm, had a packable hood, and I could pack the whole jacket into the pocket. Then, I raised my arm. My arm was only raised to shoulder height and the jacket pulled up above my waist. Am I never supposed to move my arms? I can never shovel snow. Every time I move my arms, I will have 20 degree F wind blowing on my stomach. If I raise my arms all the way up, the jacket exposes my stomach even ... MoreI am 5'6" or 5'7" and 125lbs. The jacket in neutral position just barely covers my waist. This seems like a major design flaw. I tried on my other North Face jackets and other brand jackets and this is not a problem. I was aware that the Nuptse was "short" because I saw reviews on the internet, but this is a joke.I am shocked that this jacket has such high reviews with such a massive design flaw.If there were another version of the Nuptse that were longer (or just normal sized like every other North Face jacket), I would buy the jacket again.

This does not have the original hood which made the jacket it also does not have the original poof 💨. I have the original 96 last of the yellow. NF should come back with a lot of the originals and make them exactly the way they were made and stop cutting corners. I have all originals and so far every retro made does not compare if anything made like garbage. We customers should stop buying the items that are made with non quality and just get the stuff that is quality.... Bet you will see the change immediately. $ makes things change especially when they are not getting the return for the garbage being made. Like this retro.

My second Nupste jacket - the first being 26 years old. I still wear the first, purchased in 1996 and still going strong. I bought it when a student because it was a good buy for a good solid jacket, and looked great on me. Never knew it'd take off and become THE classic down jacket. No surprise though. This jacket is WARM, and it looks great on everyone. I've never found another brand or style - and I've looked! - that can compare. I bought a new one for my teenager for Christmas because he was stealing my own old Nuptse to wear to school - and my 2nd best jacket, made by a company as famous as The North Face - wasn't as warm, and made me look like I was wearing a nylon potato sack. Thanks to The North Face for keeping a classic, beautifully made and beautifully ... MoreMy second Nupste jacket - the first being 26 years old. I use this product a lot when I'm going to events or simply when I'm looking for something nice to wear. This product is really good in terms of comfort, size, and looks. The pockets hold a lot of room for storage and keep your hands warm in the cold. The downsides of this product are that the coat can leak feathers that get attached to your clothing and sometimes poke you. This coat is dry clean only meaning you can't wash this in the washing machine because then your coat will become deflated. Overall I recommend this product, it's super solid and it can fit under the agenda of any event you're planning to attend.
Phenomenal warmth, to be honest all throughouthigh school I would always see the "Cool Kids" constantly wearing North face puffers. From a quick glance i thought to myself that they were paying for nothing more than a brand name that surely the quality couldn't hold up to the price. Wasn't until Recently I first hand, experienced the sheer quality of these puffers. To start off I live in the most rainiest state in all the USA Seattle, Washington and with having up to eight months of nothing but rain and cold this puffer has definitely held up to its name. Unexpectedly being waterproof when wind resistance, and definitely holding up against the test of the snow! despite its price being a little out of my personal comfort zone, it was worth every dollar.Hopefully ... MorePhenomenal warmth, to be honest all throughouthigh school I would always see the "Cool Kids" constantly wearing North face puffers. I got hot in the store trying it on, but when it was 50 degrees out I needed a hoodie on underneath to stay warm while trick or treating with my kid. I'm from the northern states and moved down South, so I'm still used to freezing temperatures. I'd wouldn't want to have just this coat up north.Zipper was fine for the first several times I used it, but now it's sticking horribly. I have to hold it at just the right angle for it to not catch on the next tooth in the zipper as I try to zip or unzip it. Worst coat I've ever had, which is especially disappointing for the most expensive coat I've ever had.
Been wearing these jackets since middle school (14 years) in NYC, perfect for extreme cold/snowy/rainy weather but the material is super fragile/cheap. be careful when walking near a wall or door because this jacket WILL tear if there's a tiny nail sticking out or even dry peeling paint. i've torn a few of mine.besides being fragile, this jacket is amazing. its light, so when you get a bit hot you can unzip it and keep it on or carry it with no problem. it's stylish of course and really keeps you warm. i've worn this jacket in 10F / -12C weather here in NY and didnt wear a sweater underneath and I was still warm! i especially love how it covers your neck!I'd recommend this jacket but just be careful walking next to walls or doors.PS: washing these jackets is a ... MoreBeen wearing these jackets since middle school (14 years) in NYC, perfect for extreme cold/snowy/rainy weather but the material is super fragile/cheap. be careful when walking near a wall or door because this jacket WILL tear if there's a tiny nail sticking out or even dry peeling paint. i've torn a few of mine.besides being fragile, this jacket is amazing. its light, so when you get a bit hot you can unzip it and keep it on or carry it with no problem. it's stylish of course and really keeps you warm. i've worn this jacket in 10F / -12C weather here in NY and didnt wear a sweater underneath and I was still warm! i especially love how it covers your neck!I'd recommend this jacket but just be careful walking next to walls or doors.PS: washing these jackets is a complex and nerve-racking process.
Probably gone through 6 Nuptse jackets (kids and adult sizes) over the years with no issues.Bought in December, and returned for a replacement in February after leaking feathers for 3 months. The original jacket has been returned - no explanation or contact was made to explain why the return was not accepted. The 2 year guarantee is pointless. Buying direct from North Face does not mean better support - the experience has been the opposite. My suggestion is go to JD sports.Really poor.
I am very sad because I bought a tattered down jacket with exposed holes. What makes me even more heartbroken is the ruthlessness and indifference of the customer service. So far, I have contacted eight customer service representatives, and each time they use the same language, completely disregarding consumer concerns. It's really disgusting. I don't like this shopping platform because I received unfair treatment. Don't buy this down jacket on the website, because none of them are brand new and intact, without tags or large holes. It's extremely disappointing.
