Great for High School Kid

I bought this coat for my son. He is in High School and can not fit in his coat from last year because he had grown taller and broader. He is about 5'7'' and has broad shoulders. The coat fits really well. Since he runs hot all the time, this coat is thin enough but also can keep him warm in NY winters. I suggested that IF he needs extra layers, he can wear a thinsulate vest underneath but that is up to him. He says that it is not bulky and can fit in his NF backpack. The hood sold me because he does not like other accessories. THIS KID IS EQUIPPED WITH NORTHFACE GEAR! Looks very stylish for a HS kid but also very mature. I got this in the blue. Highly recommend!

Great jacket for camping to grocery store trips.

I've use it in the cold night camping and a little rain. Not sure how wet I'd trust to get it though. It's great warm packable jacket. The sleeves are elastic and will fit nice with gloves but can be a little loose on the wrist. When first putting the jacket on it is cold on the skin. The pockets are placed well. The hood could potentially fit a bump helmet underneath. It is a loud jacket can be a little noisy.

Highly recommend. It will be used for life.

I bought this jacket because I have always been a supporter of the brand. However, this was my first insulated Northface jacket that I purchased. It was great timing too because I was able to take it with me to the UK to visit family. Winters in the UK can be harsh but with this jack I was able to comfortably traverse around the city, through the countryside and out to coastline. It has been all that I have worn throughout my trip. That being said, it is a light and packable jacket that barely will add to the weight of your Northface suite case or backpack when traveling through airports. Also, if you are into style it is sleek and good for alternating with outfits.

I would buy this Jacket again and again.

This is a wonderful jacket. The quality is exceptional. It is quite toasty and warm, yet not too heavy and weighted down. My Always a Marine *friend, especially enjoyed the Military Green Color, available. Older gentleman are not so fond of wearing bulky clothing, yet need to stay warm in these frigid temperatures. What a wonderful Jacket. I am so happy of its availability.

It's not perfect but it is a great, warm jacket

I bought this as my new everyday commute jacket because my old Carhartt jacket isn't as warm as I need it to be so I decided to switch over for a insulated one and I do not regret it.I love the overall feel and structure of the jacket, it's very comfortable and form fitting, fits true to size and keeps me toasty even in 20-30 weather. I also like the fact that even though it's not listed as a feature, it is a bit water resistant although not as much as the more expensive models that are similar. What I don't like is that for the price, I wish there were more pockets. At least one more inside one, but I knew there wasn't going to be one so I'm exactly disappointed. The other I don't really like is the cuffs at the wrist, as it uses an elastic band that don't ... MoreI bought this as my new everyday commute jacket because my old Carhartt jacket isn't as warm as I need it to be so I decided to switch over for a insulated one and I do not regret it.I love the overall feel and structure of the jacket, it's very comfortable and form fitting, fits true to size and keeps me toasty even in 20-30 weather. No final scene from The Shining here!

I am so happy with this jacket. The fit is perfect. I wore it to my stepdaughter's final football game (she cheers). It was 35 degrees, raining, and I had to sit in a puddle on the bleachers. Honestly, everything was wet and numb except for my head and torso. I am so happy I got this thing. It is so light, but it really does the job with keeping you warm. Now, if this stupid summer-like weather would go away, I could maybe enjoy it more and spend some more time with it outside. Thanks, North Face! You never disappoint!

Perfect for the Texas Winter
1 December 2022

I ordered this coat as an upgrade from my Insulated Junction jacket I got from Academy Sports Outdoors. I wanted something warmer but not too bulky, the parkas and Gotham seemed too big for me to wear here since it's usually not that cold in San Antonio during the winter these days. 30 degrees happens on some days but even then the weather can go high as 65. The jacket fit is definitely a more 'fitted' jacket compared to my Insulated Down Junction I've had since 2019. This 550 goose down was perfect on the last week of cold mornings and afternoons, we had windy days too which really helped out considering we had a volunteer day thru work and it super windy too. Super lightweight, stylish, I will admit I wish I got the hoodie version of this because I like to protect ... MoreI ordered this coat as an upgrade from my Insulated Junction jacket I got from Academy Sports Outdoors. Overall, a great jacket if you want something light, warm, cozy, and just looks cool!

THE Winter Jacket of 2021
6 October 2021

I originally ordered this jacket as a gift for my father. The fit was perfect, and he couldn't stop talking about how warm and comfortable he felt in it! I get nervous about puffer jackets because some can be stiff and restrict your mobility. However, this puffer was extremely comfortable to wear, and my fathers mobility wasn't restricted at all! This is THE perfect jacket to wear in the winter time. I highly recommend it to those who are thinking of purchasing. An extra plus is that it's very nice in style, and you can either dress it up or down. I loved it so much that I ended up purchasing one for my entire family (myself, my mother, and my younger brother)! Now we all have one!

Very nice coat but not long enough for a taller person
19 January 2023

I purchased this coat for my son for Christmas. He is 5'11 and 140 pounds. A medium fit perfect everywhere except it wasn't quite long enough. It hits right above the hips. I returned it for one of the extended size NorthFace coats. He loved this coat but he needed something longer. The large size was sold out so I couldn't exchange it. I think a large would still look short as it is the design of the coat. No complaints about the coat at all.

You can't go wrong with this puffer!
14 November 2022

Considering this is my first time experiencing winter in Michigan, and that this is my first puffer jacket, this is a very warm puffer jacket even while feeling very light. It does get hot and I would suggest to begin use below 40 degrees as it does get very hot. Although it isn't as cold as it gets right now in Michigan, with layering it held me very warm today for a 20 minute walk at 25 degrees. I think the range for this jacket is between 40-20 degrees. I love the style and the way the jacket feels. You can't go wrong with this puffer. It protects heavily against wind, which was my biggest problem before I had this jacket. A normal cotton hoodie, the cold goes through, but with this The North Face puffer, no cold at all. Excellent value for the price!
