Good rain jacket

Good rain jacket. Repels wind and water, though if you're in a heavy rain for a few hours, it will become water logged. This is a light jacket which is good for fall and spring weather. It's not a cold weather jacket (below 50 degrees) on its own. There is a two-part jacket which has the same outer shell as this. If you need a cold weather jacket then look into that version since this one does not have an interior zipper to attach a second insulated jacket. One downside is no interior pockets. Aside from that, this is well made and I'm happy with the purchase

Great for what it is

I needed a less expensive rain jacket for dog walks and camping. This one is great for the price. Looks good, good rain and wind protection. Just disappointed that North face is just another company cutting costs to save a penny. Something as simple as using an embroidered emblem over the now glued on cheap looking plastic emblem makes a big difference. Saving a little per unit cheapened the jacket. Too bad.

Great under strong rain

I bought on sale in my nextdoor outdoors store and intended to use during a trip to Scotland in summer 2022. They only had L size, so I took it a bit bigger for me, but it does very well. Color is light blue and black. I have been using it since summer under many circumstances, as camping, cycling and daily commuting, and many times under heavy rain. I had to fix a tent in the night under stormy rain and to clean up the rain drainers on my street using this jacket and it fitted the job perfectly. I was dry and no sweating. Nevertheless, this is a very good jacket and I am very happy with it.

Horrible Warranty Service - Expected Much Better from TNF
14 November 2023

Good jacket for the winter months and fits well overall - no complaints there. However, the zippers were not manufactured well and often got stuck. Eventually, the left zipper broke. I took the jacket to the nearest TNF store to see if I could send it back for repair. At that time, I also had two very small holes on the jacket which led to some of the down material leaking out. For the price my wife paid and the fact that TNF is a supposedly reputable brand, I expected that they would repair the defects and send it back to me (considering I'd have to wait upto 2 months). I received a notification within a week or so stating that they would not repair anything. I only had the jacket for a few months so I really thought they would honor the warranty. I took a gambling and lost - NOT THE JACKET'S FAULT
26 February 2024

So I purchased and returned this jacket due to it not quite satisfying my needs. But I was taking a chance.I was looking for a skiing shell for warm, wet weather and wanted to get my hands on a coat that would fit that mold. I've previously used a competitors coat (which is a raincoat) and it was somewhat effective. So I took a chance on this one hoping it was a little more hearty. As soon as I took it out of the package, I knew it was almost identical in basic construction to my current option, so I decided to send it back.Overall feel and fit were great, so I would consider this one in the future should I need a new rain specific jacket.

Love this jacket!
7 June 2024

I'm a NF fan and have several of these light weight rain type jackets. I live in StLouis so we get all kinds of weather and except when it's really cold or really hot this jacket works almost year round. It repels water and wind completely. Easy to transport n carry. Never hot when you wear it inside. High quality materials and construction and fit is great. Love the vents in the front and elastic cuffs. I would buy these again and again...and I have!

Non-adjustable cuffs make this feel like a toddler's coat
29 March 2024

Beautiful color, and the fabric felt nice and seemed durable. It also stated on the tag that it was in fact waterproof, while the item description merely said water-resistant, so that seemed promising.Unfortunately, the cuffs are cinched elastic with no ability to be adjusted, which I found uncomfortable and limiting; at this price point and for gear intended for active outdoor use I expect an adjustable, comfortable cuff that can both be tucked under and secured around a glove. I returned this item, regretfully.

Stylish and functional coat
6 January 2024

Loved this hooded down jacket! Keeps my partner warm and stylish during the cold winter months. My partner has been particular with finding the perfect winter puffer because he claims he is often too warm in them. This coat may seem thin, but provides adequate warmth, especially with the wind resistant features. The attached hood is an added touch to the coat. The zippered pockets are my favorite feature to any coat. Could use a hidden zippered pocket on the inside though.

Warm but no adjusting
24 November 2023

Warm but no adjusting. That’s why I took off 1 stars. Took off 1 star for no inside pocket or no place to keep gloves or hat. Can’t tighten down the bottom or the hood. The arms could have more padding so short sleeve tshirts could be worn underneath more comfortably. So far performs well in 48-52 degree weather with no or light wind. It’s comfortable and light. Fit is wide but that’s expected.

Would recommend to anyone
1 March 2024

Bought the jacket and overall was very impressed with the jacket. The jacket is lightweight and breathable. The construction and zipper is always on point when it comes to North face. The jacket is not meant to be extremely warm so I would bundle up and layer this jacket on the outside for those extremely cold days. I would suggest taking a look at the triclimate version which has the same design but with an extra layer underneath. I would recommend this jacket for anyone who is looking for a stylish wind/water proof jacket.
