I absolutely love my North Face Denali. I originally got it in middle school, probably around 2006 to 2008, and it’s been a staple in my wardrobe ever since. I actually have 2 one in black and one pink but the black one is my go-to. This jacket is the perfect transitional piece from fall to winter. I prefer it over a heavy or puffer jacket because it’s lightweight, functional, and still manages to keep me warm. It’s also really cute and versatile enough to wear both outdoors and around the house. Yes, the initial purchase may seem expensive, but it’s definitely worth every penny. Even after all these years, it’s still in great condition and remains one of my favorite pieces. I have had my Denali Jacket for 15+ year (I believe North Face called it something different then). The one difference I see from the current model is that my jacket is Polartec. From September - November and March-May, this jacket beats everything in the mountains. Also excellent under water proof shell if temps drop near or below freezing. Very few of my non-summer back pack trips are experienced without this jacket.

This is my go to comfort hoodie. I've wanted one of these for a very long time and I'm not disappointed. It's very comfortable and super warm. Not too hard to pull over and get on, especially with a little side zip. I am 6 foot tall, trail runner build/ physique and a medium fits me perfectly. If I have a long sleeve underneath, I can deal with fairly cold temps outside. The fit is very spacious like other people I have mentioned, but I'm ok with that. This to me is not a performance fleece although at one time I'm sure it was used that way. I feel like this is more work from home fleece, running errands around town etc. Its dense and very heavy, but I kind of like that for the purposes that I use it for. I'm trying to think of negatives but really can't at this ... MoreThis is my go to comfort hoodie. I've wanted one of these for a very long time and I'm not disappointed. I know the price is kind of steep, but if it lasts me 3-5 years then it's worth it.

This jacket is the only jacket I'll wear. I've had mine for a few years and it holds up very well. I had recently visited family outside the country and left mine behind by accident . SO....without hesitation, I ordered another one. Unfortunately, they didn't have my color (blk/blk) in the correct size, so I went with the gray/black. The jacket arrived promptly at my door days later. On the day of arrival, I checked the website and they had my jacket in stock. So...again without hesitation, I ordered the style jacket I wanted. North Face took my return without hesitation and ensured I received my refund. Great job!!
A year ago, my almost 22 year old TNF Mountain Parka was replaced with a new Men's '86 Retro Mountain Jacket. I needed something to wear under the Mountain Jacket in cold weather that would also be useful as a separate, dry, cold weather jacket as well. What better than the iconic Denali Jacket (which happens to zip right into my Mountain Jacket!) There is little I could add to all of the superlatives folks have already posted about this Jacket. But know that it is everything people say. Great pockets, great warmth (especially under the Mountain Jacket!) and it just looks great on its own.
I use this for days that are chillier, but aren't cold enough for a winter jacket. Great to use for hiking and keeping it lightweight. Unexpectedly very warm, but that's a plus. Only thing I don't like about it is the way it fits in my arms. There's a lot of space surrounding my arms. The length is okay, should be a bit longer. It's a nice fleece but needs some modern improvements.
I love the Hooded Anorak concept and the Denali is a classic. The fleece is fairly thicker weight, and appreciate that it's recycled. I've never loved the boxy, short fit of the Denali's and really wish TNF would offer a slimmer, more athletic cut version with a little bit longer sleeves for range-of-motion.That said, this one fit well enough as an over-layer (though still a bit short in the body), but I ended up returning it because of the extremely annoying hood adjustment cords in the front of your face. There's not really a tie down on the ends to keep them in place, and there's just way too much elastic cording dangling around your chin. I wish they'd go back to something more like the discontinued Denali 2, or just have some of the stretch elastic all the way ... MoreI love the Hooded Anorak concept and the Denali is a classic. The North Face Men's Denali Jacket is a real winner. It's warm, comfortable, and built to last. The fleece feels great and the design is both practical and good looking, making it ideal for cold weather. Plus, it's made with recycled materials, which is a bonus. Great for outdoor activities or just a casual day out. Highly recommend!
The coat is relatively light but warm. It is easy to put on and zip up. It is an excellent outer garment for modest cold on its own. When very cold, such as in the Mid West recently, I find that it serves as an effective and toasty middle layer under a down puff jacket. I would prefer the side pockets to be a little more to the front. The other pockets are excellent and functional in every way. I am very pleased that I bought the jacket.
I used it as a thermal layer coupled with my GTX Mountain Jacket to ski and snowboard. It provided excellent warmth with proper breathability in temperatures of under -5 Celsius. Warmer than that - it was too warm.It is much thicker than my normal thermal layers and I felt a little chubby looking with it, though it didn't compromise body maneuverability while snowboarding on and off the pistes.Having said that, I will not take to the snow-park as it does feel a little restrictive under a ski jacket.
