These slipper/shoes are quite possibly one of the greatest things I've ever purchased. They are like a sleeping bag for your foot, and the heel folds down so you can wear them like a normal shoe or like a slipper, depending on how lazy you are. They're super warm and waterproof, so they're perfect for apres ski or for driving up to the resort in. They're also very durable, so they'll withstand harsh conditions and they're perfect for walking around the house in.My only gripe with these is that the pull-tab on the heel is on the bottom of the heel cup, rendering it pretty much useless. If it was on the top of the heel, then you could use it for pulling the heel up over your foot if you're wearing them like a slipper.

These things are amazing. I bought them on a whim after a friend suggested them and I am not disappointed. They are incredibly comfortable, super warm and very practical. They will last a long time and the grip on the bottom is really very good. They have some water proofing around the bottoms that looks sturdy. I can’t wait to use them on my first walk to the hot tub in the snow. Will for sure recommend and buy again.I am normally a size 11 shoe. Bought a size 11 and they fit perfectly.

I want to give these slippers a 5/5 because of the way they check every box in what I was looking for. I live in the PNW, so it's hard to find a durable slipper that you can keep on between lounging inside and going outside to get the mail/take the dog out/etc. But these are perfect for all of the above. Truly waterproof, comfy to walk in or just have as slippers, and stylish enough to wear to the store, they really are the ideal slipper. They do not have much of any type of support being that the sole is well-cushioned and, well , it's a slipper- but expecting these qualities ahead of time it would be unreasonable for me to suggest that the lack of support is a fault of the slipper, rather than appreciate that it is the style of footwear I've chosen. I will say ... MoreI want to give these slippers a 5/5 because of the way they check every box in what I was looking for. I will say though, I tend to be most comfortable in low-cut shoes that offer minimal ankle support, so for me these are perfect to wear to the store or even a brief walk around the neighborhood with my dog (a meathead German Shepherd who lunges at every squirrel). They may get a little warm and not super well ventilated at times but again, they are slippers, not distance running shoes. There are only two things that I can really say I wish was different. First, I wish the bottoms had better traction. If the surface I'm walking on has traction itself (like pavement) then it's not an issue, but on a wet kitchen floor you best be ready to dance. The second item would be the durability of the Thermoball material. This is tough to knock because it's that material that makes these so stylish and warm, and all things considered they do hold up very well (I mean come on, it's basically sleeping bag material on your feet, and your feet see a lot of action). But I had to replace my first pair because they would snag on twigs and rip, this also eliminating the waterproof factor. It's important to mention though that I'm probably an extreme example of calling the durability into question, because I've been working from home since the beginning of the pandemic and I quite literally always have these on my feet if I'm not doing something that requires otherwise (like shower, treadmill, sleeping). So to me, the fact that they last so well for half a year of daily hard use (all day in the office, taking dog out, errands, you name it) and are functional in all aspects is pretty impressive. Enough so that I plan on buying a third pair, and when I bought this second pair I also bought a pair for my wife- which is also important to mention because she babies hers (she likes them too much, wears them selectively) and in the same amount of time hers basically look brand new. Great product overall, definitely recommend!!

I've never experienced a better shoe. They are becoming a phenomenon on my college campus; around ten people went to the North Face store this morning to purchase ThermoBalls, and several others who couldn't physically make it had others order for them. These are the epitome of comfort: it's like a synthetic down jacket for one's feet. They can also function as pickleball paddles in times of dire need. Overall, I have never felt so existentially committed to a shoe. Philosophers sometimes ask the question: "What sort of thing are you willing to die for?"; in that, one needs to find something for which they would die in order to fill one's life with meaning. I will not, for the sake of propriety, expound on my answer to that question, but you may rightly use this ... MoreI've never experienced a better shoe. Overall, despite my anti-consumerism, these ThermoBalls are truly the gateway to transcendence, meaning, and an abundant life. Respectfully yours, a young ThermoBaller
I wear them around the house, to take out the trash and retrieve the mail. They are comfortable and functional because they were designed with rubber soles and solid toe kick. They keep my toes warm on cold and chilly mornings which is a benefit they have over my adidalette slides that I own and utilize. The thermoball traction mule V are well designed; the only modification that I deemed necessary was to add a superfeet insole underneath the north face provided insole, which has a hard plastic heel for added support and comfort for my feet. I do believe that the north face logo on the side of the footwear should have been embroidered into the shoe instead of just being silk screened on them. I was quite disappointed after receiving the shoes in the mail opening the box and learning that was in fact the case. Regardless of that disappointment I decided to keep them and give them a chance to replace my adidalette slides. I would recommend the theroball traction mule V 's to my friends and associates.
This is not really a slipper you wear in the comfort of your home; instead, it seems more suited to be worn for short forays outside your tent or cabin in cooler temperatures. The construction is great, but the sizing is off by one size too small. I wear a size 12 in every athletic shoe such as Adidas, Converse, and Nike, but this mule is definitely snug. I would order one size up next time. The sole features excellent traction, but if I'm wearing these in the house, they can catch on carpet or upholstery. This is a good outdoor shoe for short distances, though.
I had higher hopes for these. I thought they were going to be exactly like the booties, but they are not. They have a fuzzy inside and they are not as comfortable. They fit a bit tight compared to the booties. I still wear them around the house, but I find myself putting on the booties instead. I wouldn't say that they were a waste of money, but I dont get the use out of them like I thought I would because I own the booties. If I could only have 1, I would choose the booties every single time!
I rarely write reviews, but as I've purchased various iterations of these slippers, maybe 8-10 of them, I figured I should say something. The rating is 97% for a reason. The NF has remained consistent with these slippers, so please don't change a thing. I love that the insoles are removable (though, it would be stellar if you could buy replacement insoles only, but I think that may be asking too much). I have pairs for outdoors and indoors. An absolute staple for me. Thank you NF. Love, Keith
The concept of this slipper is strong. Warm, down coat-like feel with a great sole to head outside around the house when damp out in the early mornings or after bad weather. The issue is the foothole is just too small and thus too tight for the foot and agitates the ankle area in a few moments and feels like it cuts off circulation shortly thereafter. I just cannot keep these on more than 20 minutes at a time. You can "step on the heel" and use as a "clog-like" slipper, but in all honesty, it's not that great that way. Perhaps they can make the lining to ankle hole an elastic material and not fabric lined? There is a small piece of stretch material on each side, thank goodness. That does help a little but not much and my foot is a basic 10 and the length of these is ... MoreThe concept of this slipper is strong. Loosen up the foothole somehow and these would be a 10 (although they do get very warm and not really breathable at all).
i wear a size 11, that's what i got and they fit perfectly. i have narrow feet, and i'd say if you have wider feet, these may not be for you. the shoes are light, but rugged - they definitely feel more like proper shoes, not house shoes. they are super warm, which is great because i doubt i'd have room for socks in them. the insole is nice and thick, and the interior is soft and fluffy. the back end easily folds down if you need them to function like slippers. just flawless design!
