The older version was better....it was lighter. This jacket is heavier, and it was a bit longer. But I really don't like how heavy it is, and the velcro is very cheap. The inlay was inside of the zipper. on the older coat, and it had a belt to cinch in, really adding warmth. This is just a loose sack. Needs an inner back tightening cord or something. I don't like how North Face changes the style on a line, way too often, often making it worse.

I love this coat. Gave it 4 stars because the material used on the inside Velcro part of the hood. The part that zips up over your neck and mouth. That fabric is terrible. Its snags and pills right away from the Velcro. And the sleeves should be longer with thumb holes. Every coat should have thumb holes. Other than that I love this coat.

I wear this jacket whenever it's extra cold outside. It is a relaxed fit so it keeps me really warm and it has a great length. Sometimes when I crouch down to get my dogs ready to take outside I worry I'm gonna bust the bottom of the zipper open like I did on my last long parka, but I suppose I could get the dogs ready before I zip up my jacket too lol. Even with my last jacket it lasted me years and years and this one seems even more durable so I'm happy I decided to get it.

I did not like the fit of this parka. The material around the wrists was too loose and there is Velcro over the zipper, which for the price seems cheap. The Velcro gets caught on your clothing when you are trying to put the coat on. Several of my sweaters got snagged. Needless to say, I returned the parka.
Great, long and warm winter puffer. If you are between sizes, maybe it’s a good idea to size down. I loved this item from the minute I unpacked it, however I received a faulty item ( it had a big tear). Had to return it but I was not able to get it at a discounted price since the initial offer expired. :(
I love it, SIZE DOWN ONE SIZE! I usually wear a small in TNF jackets/parkas. In the new Nuptse parka, I needed to get an Xtra-Small and it is still big. This style is a loose, relaxed fit, not a fitted parka. I am 5'3" and 105 lbs and the coat is long and puffy but boy is it warm! I love the new boysenberry color.
I love it! I was looking for a very warm winter coat (we get temperatures up to -25C at some point during winter and the wind is usually cold most of the time) so I wouldn’t freeze. This is super warm and windproof and keeps me warm. I’m petite ane sleeve lenght is just right, not too long. Yes, it’s oversized and has that boxy style, but this is exactly what you need during a very cold winter. I hate those fitted winter jackets because they don’t keep me warm and you can’t put anything thicker underneath. I have columbia jacket hanging in my closet not being used for this exact reason. With this coat I can put layers and still not feel like there’s no room left at all. Overall, I love it.
I ordered this jacket because, on paper, it has almost everything I'm looking for. I was in search of a longer-length parka that kept me warm but was still cute. I ordered this jacket hoping it would fit the bill. Unfortunately, the jacket is huge! I ordered an XS and I was drowning in it. I did end up returning this but wish it would have worked. I would have needed at least another size down. I also didn't care for the Velcro closure on this jacket - it looks cheap. By comparison, I ordered the NF Hydrenalite Parka in an XS and it fit me well. I am 117lbs/5'4".
Pros: Extremely warm, comfortable, blocks wind. Cons: Much too large and shapeless (and sizing down wouldn't help the latter), velcro closures are a pain and snag, sleeves not long enough and velcro closures not great for keeping out wind and cold, very heavy. Ended up returning for a lighter weight coat that was about 95% as warm but fit better and was better designed.
This jacket is perfect for me. I'm 5.3 inches. starting it felt big but then realized when I took some photos it was perfect and looked good. This jacket makes you keep warm at 0 degrees as well I had been to Norway mountains it was very cold but I did not feel much cold. It's not windproof. an extra layer of dress can make it perfect for minus degrees more than -5. This jacket is not for summer. You will sweat if you wear in summer.
