I LOVE this vest! I wanted something warm but not too warm since Winter is coming to an end. And I'll be able to wear this vest throughout Springtime as well since u can determine how warm u want to be depending on what u wear underneath the vest. The hide-a-way hood is also a plus living in Seattle! This vest is also super trendy right now & u can choose to dress it up or down.I always wear a size medium in TNF jackets & this vest is also true to size. I definitely recommend this vest to anyone who loves TNF gear & wants to stay stylishly warm but not get overheated. It's a perfect addition to almost any outfit!

Got my first Nupste vest in 2002 and still wearing it today! But finally got a new one in a different color this winter. I usually wear an XS but got a S for a little extra room for layering and it isn't too oversized. I can still wear it with just a thin layer underneath without it looking massive, but also able to layer a fleece under it for colder weather. Really happy with the size and fit. Wear this all the time in the fall/winter/early spring and I know it will last a long time! The quality of this one seems just as good, if not better as my original.

Finally a vest that fits my slender frame. I've ordered XS down vests from other companies -- they have sized up around the middle with the rest of America, so they swamp me.This North Face Retro fits perfectly, only slightly loose, so I can put it over a regular or thick shirt or a thin jacket and it will keep me warm. Down filling is generous, as I had hoped. I've only worn it at home, but it is PERFECT, and I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

I'm really happy with this vest. It replaced my old 550 which I liked but always had issues with the zipper. This jacket is thicker than I would like but it's made well. Great pockets and an upgraded zipper. Also love that it has a hideaway hood if needed. Now if they could make this quality in a 550 fill that would be perfect. I also purchased the Aconcagua 3 Vest but returned it. The fit was off (seemed boxy) and didn't think it was as good as my 550 was.
I wear it everywhere. So does my daughter. She liked mine so much that she borrowed it. And I missed it! So I just got her one in order to get mine back! I live in Minneapolis, she's in Chicago. Here's a photo of her rockin the vest in Chicago!
I am now on my second vest, different color. I love it. I use this vest for everything I dress it up dress it down. I love it it's so comfortable and perfect for me on the go with my toddler able to use my arms and still be able to be warm at the same time I just wear a long sleeve underneath and I'm out the door and ready to go and do my everyday errands . it's perfect for my midriff and my back I tend to get more cold there. Love it! I also bought 2 for my mother in laws she loved mine and complimented me on mine on the last 3 years I had to get one for her and my father in law for Christmas . It's a beautiful sporty vest.
I can't believe I've gone so long without owning a vest and totally see why they're so great now! It offers warmth while also being practical since your arms are free to move. It keeps my core super warm. It's the perfect length for me as a petite - most vests are designed for taller women. Love the packable hood, adjustable side toggles, many pocket options, and that it packs down into a tiny travel bag! Admittedly I've yet to test it in the wash, but so far it's proven to be an absolute winter staple and has forever saved me from cold winters!

Vest is beautiful! Shipping was not! If I’m paying $240 for a vest I would hope for some form of protection rather than the vest folded in a poly bag mailer that can easily be ripped. North face products are always encased in clear plastic so idk if mine was a return or something but the white embroidery letters are dirty now. I am not that happy. Pick this up rather than ship from Scheels if possible!
