Nice quality jacket. It is light and breathable (liked the underarm zips) but also seems warm and weatherproof. I am normally CS and ordered and XS and there was a perfect amount of room to layer.Unfortunately the arms were very long (I often have this issue with jackets) and the design didn’t work for me. I am petite with no hips and I felt that the placement of the zippers added bulk to the top of my body. I think this would look beautiful on someone a little curvier with longer arms.
I got this jacket for skiing and I'm really happy with it. I was a little worried it wasn't going to be very warm but luckily it is. I've skied for 10 days with this jacket and a thick t-shirt and I haven't been cold at all. It has very smart pockets and even a pad to clean your googles/ lenses. It also prevents snowing from getting inside you if you fall. I'm usually size S/M... I got a S and it fits well. If you're going for a loose fit maybe get an M if you're usually S.
I’m 5’9 135lb and bought a M. The fit is great and the arms are actually long enough. I love the slim fabric used on the arm holes so that my gloves aren’t sticking way out of my coat while skiing. The food is big enough to fit over a ski helmet but also detachable which I love. The shiny oil slick detailing on the zippers And the tiny speckling at the rib cage gives just a little contrast to the all black jacket so it’s not too plain. Perfect with a heavy base layer underneath for warmth. Well done North Face!
Received this after wanting specifically a skiing jacket. The fit is perfect balance between curved to shape with enough space to move and layer. I ordered a L based on size chart and it fits perfectly. I am 5'2 and 130lbs. and 36DD It has a nice drop back and not too long in front-mid hip. Color lavender fog is exactly as pictured and super cute. It feels lightweight which I like for layering. Not sure how it stands up for cold -have not skied in it yet. This is not a boxy - gore tex style jacket. Feels like good quality, soft not crinkly. Will test the warmth soon.
I had searched for weeks before ordering this jacket and am picky because I run very cold. At first I was shocked at how thin it was and was expecting thicker insulation, but as soon as I went skiing with it in cold temps (-5 / -10 C) I was toasty (with an underlayer, mid-layer, and fleece underneath). I'm sure it'll hold up in colder weather too. Wearing it alone would definitely be a little cooler and I'll probably use do that for spring skiing. It is a deceivingly warm jacket and such good quality, looks adorable and fits nicely. I saw that it was snug fitting and I'm usually a small so I ordered a M so I can layer up, and I'd say it's perfectly a tad oversized. Get this jacket!!! So worth it.
Warm and great insulation. The number of pockets are perfect. It has all the features I'm looking for in a ski jacket - lots of pockets, removable hood, powder skirt, fleece lined zipper by the face. I wish it was a little longer, but I have a long torso so that's not unusual for me.
i use this jacket for skiing. it is the same style as the one i had, but i wanted a different color, so i was glad you still made the same style. love the features! detachable hood, lots of pockets, pass pocket on sleeve, thumb holes on the liner, snow guard around the waist, not too boxy looking, goggle wipe.
