Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 provides instant plumping hydration to give softer, smoother, healthy-looking skin. This formulation contains 5 forms of hyaluronic acid, which helps provide hydration to multiple layers of the surface of skin. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant found naturally in the skin where it binds to water. The forms included are low-, medium- and high-molecular- weight molecules, a HA crosspolymer, and hydrolyzed HA. The formulation also contains ceramides to help keep moisture locked in. Ceramides are lipids (fatty molecules) found naturally in the skin that help support the skin barrier to keep skin protected and hydrated. The ceramides used in this formula are known as sphingolipids. Pro-vitamin B5 helps support the formation of key skin barrier components like ceramides and fatty acids, which further helps keep moisture locked in, keeping the skin moisturized for longer. How to use: Apply a few drops to the face in the morning and evening.

Wearing this serum under other products is not viable at all. I used a different product containing a smaller amount of HA and that ended up dry and extremely flaky after a period of wear. So it seems this ingredient just doesn't work on my skin the way many other people can rave on about. As far as the product's quality, I do believe this is made with high integrity, as the brand claims. The ingredients and packaging are refreshingly straightforward. This was my first product from The Ordinary so I'm impressed by what I've seen so far, even though I am disappointed by the outcome of this particular product for issues unrelated to the brand. I had bought the larger size, too. But The Ordinary's modest pricing made buying this still a smart choice because I didn't have to spend a lot more money to find out this bad news.

This is the first time I’ve tried The Ordinary so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but I’m honestly surprised how much I ended up liking this serum! This HA + B5 serum comes in a frosted glass dropper bottle with an overall clean, minimal white look which also matches the paper carton packaging it comes in. The serum itself is a clear, viscous liquid with no fragrance. I love how there’s just enough viscosity to make it easy to apply ( not drip everywhere) yet it’s light enough that it still glides effortlessly and absorbs almost instantly into the skin. It left my face feeling SO hydrated and plump! There was no weird leftover residue, stickiness, or pilling, and it worked wonderfully with my other skincare products. Everyone needs a HA serum in their skincare ... MoreThis is the first time I’ve tried The Ordinary so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but I’m honestly surprised how much I ended up liking this serum! Everyone needs a HA serum in their skincare regime imo, and I think this one by The Ordinary would be perfect for every skincare enthusiast but especially beginners as its lower, more affordable price point, easy to use products, and straightforward names/labels (I love that the name of their products is exactly what it is so you immediately know what it is just based off the name). Even though it’s more affordable than other brands, it still feels just as high quality and effective. Like the dropper and dropper bottle feels like heavy and thick glass, and the formula feels just as nice and effective if not more than the more expensive brands. I just love how simplicity and minimalism permeates every aspect of The Ordinary— from the brand name to the product design and packaging to the formulations, and more. I think it’s a testament to how effective their products are that they don’t have to rely on gimmicky sales tactics, made up words, or super loud designs to drive sales— no fluff, no BS, no gimmicks needed! I think I just found my new favorite skincare brand! 😃

The serum targets dryness and it is a water-based formula combining low-, medium- and high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid molecules and a next-generation HA crosspolymer to support hydration to multiple layers of your skin. It also targets the appearance of wrinkles and textural irregularities. Plus, it uses pro-vitamin B5 to enhance hydration at the outer layers, resulting in smoother, plumper skin. It is suited for All skin types. It is a smoothing serum that offers short and long-term hydration. Boosts skin hydration after 1 week (with sustained results after 4 weeks). Strengthens skin barrier, noticeably smoother and more supple skin and reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles after 4 weeks. You can use it in the morning and at evening time. Make sure to damp your face before using it and always use it before moisturizers. I prefer apply a few drops on my face and messaging it in gently. You should always do a patch test prior to use. If irritation occurs, rinse off, cease use, and consult a physician. It is free from; alcohol, oil, and silicone. Most importantly it is Vegan, Cruelty-free, and gluten-free. It has a pH level of 6.00-7.50. Overall, I am in love with this product. It goes on very smootly, makes my face really soft and shiny. The bottle is super unique and fancy and the dropper dispenses nicely. The serum is thick but lightweight, and absorbs fairly quickly while leaving a smooth layer on top. Smells decent. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who wants to keep their skin happy and healthy. I am so happy that I found this skincare line.
Received The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydrating Serum complimentary from #influenster to test. This is a good bang for your buck! I had never used hyaluronic acid in serum form before so the first night I used this I was VERY skeptical. When I dropped six drops on my palms and rubbed my palms together (like I usually do with moisturizer) this felt and applied like a peel-off mask. But I tried again. This time I patted it on my face and it absorbed REAL quick. Let me tell you that when I woke up the next morning I was truly amazed. It went on silky smooth. I do this every morning now as well. But after letting it fully absorb for a minute or two, I pump 1 spray of facial spray and follow that with facial moisturizing sunscreen and then under eye cream. My under eye concealer FINALLY glides on without any pilling and stays on all day without creasing thanks to The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydrating Serum as the first step in my morning routine. This has been a game changer for me! I will definitely keep this as part of my facial ritual morning and night. @Influenster
This new formula is a nightmare. This HA (former formula) has been a Holy Grail product for me for years. I would use it on my face twice a day & on my hair after every wash. I'm so glad it's cheap because I don't feel bad about throwing away all my unused bottles of the new formula.First off it's sticky, tacky, & doesn't soak in. Putting ceramides doesnt allow it to soak into your face completely so it just sits on top. I noticed red splotches on my skin after a few uses which turned out to be dry patches which I've never had before. Eliminated the O HA, replaced it with another HA & within a couple days they healed.Second, it causes pilling on the skin. I used the exact same regiment I've always used & loved & all of a sudden I was experiencing pilling. None of my other products changed formula except the HA. Sure enough, I deleted the HA & no pilling occured.Third, the color discrepancies between product is very noticeable. I've got one bottle thats yellow tinted, one that's clear, & another that's more orange. I appreciated the simplicity of the former formula. It's hard to find a simple affordable product that works well.I don't get why you felt the need to change a product that was considered an amazing HA by so many customers. I won't use it again until the old formula is brought back. As a matter of fact I've started spending more money on another product that works for me. Not sure if I'll trust The Ordinary again after this.
Hoping Deciem is paying attention here. Like MANY MANY other reviews I had been using this product for YEARS and loved it. I bought a replacement bottle and recently opened it only to find some yellow liquid masquerading as my beloved serum (which was perfectly clear previously, as it is still displayed in the pictures on the website). So I took to the website to look for a way to contact Deciem about this issue figuring it was a fluke, only to check the reviews (to see if anyone else had this issue and how it was handled) and find that it's no fluke. This is apparently the new 'formula'. Long term regular users (like myself) are not having breakouts and issues that we haven't faced in years since perfecting our individual regimens. As I am now out of the 'old' formula I will have to hunt down a new product or rethink my facial regimen. Hoping and praying that Deciem will send out a mass message informing us they have decided to go back to the original and it will be available for purchase again ASAP.

I feel I appear more awake, hydrated, brighter, tighter and more plump around my eyes and cheeks.I like that it has five forms of Hyaluronic Acid so it provides multiple layered hydration. Pro-vitamin B5, that helps keep your skin more moisturized and Ceremides which helps your skin retain and hold onto water in the skin. To have all of these ingredients, vitamins and benefits in one product at their very affordable price ranges is such a win!I can't wait to continue to use this and pair it with an actual 'The Ordinary' Moisturizer for hopefully even more positive results and improvement!
Hi guys hopefully I can help a few girlies out because I think some people are using HA wrong. I used to use HA wrong in my skincare routine and discontinued it due to not seeing it do much. And while moisturizers would make my skin feel hydrated when using HA my skin would eventually get drier and start to peel. I heard from this girl on Reddit about her routine and it changed how I used HA and made my skin look so glassy and soft in the morning. I'll copy her routine to save time. Hope this helps my beautiful girlies xxHere is the Reddit girl's routine:1. After washing with a very gentle cleanser that doesn't dry my skin, I splash a few times with water to rinse the cleanser. I quickly pat dry to remove the big droplets but still keep a sheen of water on my face.2. Put 4 drops of HA onto face: each cheek, forehead, and chin. Rub well into face, until you can feel the hyaluronic acid getting tacky.3. Spray your face with a spray bottle filled with plain water. I bought one for $1 at the dollar store (If you're like me you probably want to test this IMMEDIATELY RIGHT NOW so in a pinch you could just get water on your fingertips and lightly click your fingertips together over your face while looking up to rain water down onto your face. I do think the secret to this is to not use too much water, let the HA draw the water into your skin, don't flood it. The spray bottle feels nicer tho)4. You can either continue to rub the water in, and spray more if still tacky. Repeat until face is no longer tacky (which means all the HA has been absorbed). I probably do it 2-5 times, depending on the environment I'm sitting in. When it was cooler I only had to add water one more time, but now that its hot the water evaporates faster off my face so I need more applications of water to fully saturate the HA in my skin.I have been waking up with GLASS skin. I'm not exaggerating. The best thing about this is I have ZERO irritation. I have pale skin that is very sensitive, I basically always have some degree of redness due to a myriad of environmental factors I can't always control. I've never seen my face less red! Its soft and smooth, and I have completely dropped moisturizers from my routine. Why I think it worksHyaluronic acid is a powerful humectant, which means it draws water from its surroundings. It can hold 1000x its weight in moisture! But that means it needs moisture to reach its full potential. I used to use it as an isolated step in my skincare, but discontinued it due to not really seeing much results. That was back before I realized it needed water.I tested this method by switching water out for witch hazel (one time) and moisturizer (one time) but found good ol plain water worked best.(Some of the other girlies on Reddit suggest using an occlusive moisturizer to seal the water in, otherwise, it can evaporate in colder climates, but don't spray water over your moisturizer or you will most likely wake up with dry skin.)Hopefully, this helps :)
