I started noticing hair loss a couple of weeks ago around my hairline and around my hair part... I've been using it now for about three weeks consistently almost every night. Even though it's only been three weeks, I noticed that the hair around my hairline has filled in a lot! I used to have a lot of gaps/bald spots around my hairline but it's noticeably filled in now. It feels a little "dirty" and definitely makes my hair look greasy upon the initial application (which is why I took off a star), but by the morning it looks and feels fine.I find that the best way to apply this product is to first drop it onto your hands and then rub it between your fingers to massage into your scalp. I've seen most people use the dropper directly on their hair, but for me that didn't quite cover all of my scalp and that way wastes too much product.I'm definitely adding this to my routine now and am excited to see the long-term results! I'm just upset I didn't take any progress pictures because I'm pleasantly surprised with the results lol.

I know there is some debate about whether hair growth/thickening drops actually work. In my personal experience of using these for about a month, I definitely see more volume at my roots. I started developing small bald patches in 2 areas of my scalp (right below crown and on right edges) during/after a lengthy hospital stay. I tried different tricks, even going back to JBCO, but nothing quite worked. I decided to give this a try since my length wasn't really an issue-just thinning and overall health of my hair. I am glad I did! I use these drops maybe 4-5 days out the week and I've seen a nice improvement. My hair definitely looks fuller and thicker. I did not change anything major in my hair or diet other than this. I also do not find it to be heavy on my scalp ... MoreI know there is some debate about whether hair growth/thickening drops actually work. Essentially a leave in protein treatment
8 April 2022

My understanding is that hair needs 4 things to grow:- Proper nutrition (vitamins and minerals)- Bloodflow to the hair follicles (to help transport the good stuff to where it needs to be used)- Protein for hair structure- Moisture for softness, flexibility and shine (and scalp health!!!)In my experience (at about a quarter way through the bottle), this formula basically works like a leave-in protein treatment. As soon as I used it, it gave me an immediate volume boost (in appearance at least) by making my roots look less stringy and limp against my scalp.Within about a week, I started to see significant change in my curl and wave pattern. As soon as I used it, it gave me an immediate volume boost (in appearance at least) by making my roots look less stringy and limp against my scalp.Within about a week, I started to see significant change in my curl and wave pattern. Where before, my curls and waves were limp, completely abandoning me the second I put a comb to my hair, now, they were holding up. My ends got curly, the middle of my hair got wavier, and my waves even moved up all the way to my scalp. That being said, this formula WILL dry your hair out. Not because it removes existing moisture, in fact, it seems to have quite a few moisturizing ingredients, but because protein and moisture need to be balanced! Too much protein relative to moisture will make your hair dry and brittle, too much moisture will make it stringy and structureless, and too little of both will leave you with dull, lifeless hair that breaks, falls out and looks like straw.Unfortunately, as it exists, the moisturizing ingredients in this formula are not sufficient to balance the protein it seems to add. So most people will need to supplement this with a good moisturizing treatment and deep condition.I try to use 100% squalane oil to help keep my hair moisturized in between washes and condition treatments (applied to the scalp and then brushed or combed through the hair).Overall, make sure to get a good assessment of what your hair needs. This product is great for those whose hair craves protein.

I wasnt sure what to expect from this product. I scouted every review on every site, the price made me nervous that it might not work, but it was a great price for me to try it and have it fail. I'd call it a surprise, but i was really rooting for it all along - this product WORKS. Ok. I am done with my very first bottle and I am very pleasantly surprised. I have thinning near the front of my head, i.e., bangs and temples. Not horrible but I have noticed it getting thinner as I have aged i.e., no bald spots but I can see my scalp sometimes in those areas when my hair is wet. It also used to have more density as well.So I came across this product on the Ulta website but before I purchased it I look at the reviews (I was not thrilled that it was rated with just a titch over 4 stars). I thought it might be like rogaine (which does work but for people who color their hair it can effect processing) but I wanted more information. I thought it might be like rogaine (which does work but for people who color their hair it can effect processing) but I wanted more information. First question for me was for The Ordinary line this serum coming in at just over $17 is a steep price but was it worth it. So I went to a trusted expert in the field. I follow this dermatologist on TikTok known as @dermdoctor but his name is Muneeb Shah. If you do a google, you see his website along with his product recommendations. His schtick is to empower people by giving them the knowledge of the products they need for their particular skin needs. One of the products he raves about is The Ordinary's Caffeine 5% + EGCG depuffing eye serum. He loves it because one of it's uses is for growing hair. He cites medical journals & puts them on screen to show the viewer what medical researchers say about caffeine and hair re-growth. So, this got me curious about the ingredients in the Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density. Sure enough down the list is the ingredient caffeine. But I didn't stop there - I also googled the other ingredients. Not only are the ingredients awesome in promoting scalp care and regrowth -- google them one by one if you don't believe me! Also, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) says the ingredients used are the gold standard (Rated 1 on their. So if your looking up this products ingredients, you will also see just how clean and good they are for your skin. HUGE BONUS!!Dr. Shah says that caffeine is an ingredient in which the more you use, the more the skin absorbs. Based on this information, my night time hair routine now includes both the Caffeine 5% along with the Multipeptide Serum. So this is my routine; I take my clarifying scalp massage brush and take the dropper from the Multipeptide Serum container and typically apply one to two drops (NOT droperful if you use too much your roots can look greasy, like mine did, when I got to over enthusiastic with the product) to each temple and one to two drops to my bang area. I then put one drop on the top of my scalp and one drop to the back of my head. I take my scalp brush and rub the product all over while massaging it in to my scalp (this scalp brush works so much better than my fingers and because of the viscosity of the serum a little really does go a long way & my scalp brush does an excellent job of distributing the product even further than the areas that I put the solution). Then I apply the caffeine solution using the same method and the same amount to those same areas. The only difference is that the caffeine solutions is a bit thicker than the hair serum so I just took a little longer with it.The last part of my routine is that I take a multivitamin every day, a vitamin B complex, vitamin D3, lysine, fish oil, and biotin. As I said, I'm purchasing again because I now have baby hairs all over those areas now. I think I have had this first bottle around 6-8 weeks.Dr. Shah said that caffeine can even help with hair loss conditions like alopecia and female patterned baldness but he did stress that the studies suggest that you have to begin treatment sooner rather than later. But watch his videos for yourself if you want. I promise you will learn a lot about being your own best skincare and hair advocate because you will be educated on what ingredients you should look for for YOUR needs. Takes a little time but it's easy and oh so educational. Anyway, I hope this helps.

Unbearable itching...I'm allergic
14 August 2023

When I started a new medication, my hair fell out in clumps. I regularly take biotin and iron supplements to try to combat the issue and also use shampoo with biotin as an ingredient. I am allergic to minoxidil. I desperately wanted to love this hair serum, but unfortunately I seem to be allergic to it, too. After using it everyday for about a week, my scalp became bright red and unbearably itchy, just like when I tried using minoxidil. I stopped using the serum and allowed my scalp to heal. Then, I gave it another try just to confirm that I am indeed allergic to it. I am seriously disappointed. In the end, I have stopped using the new medication and slowly my hair is trying to grow back. I will say I've only seen any visible results with a healthy diet and vitamin supplements. I have no idea whether this serum from the Ordinary would have helped me any since I haven't been able to use it long enough to find out. I love most of their products that I have tried, but this one just doesn't work for me.

Worked for my thinning hair
21 March 2023

Finally deciding to write a review after around 5mo of using this consistently and being around halfway through the bottle. I use this right out of the shower after blow drying my hair and I'll drop a bit onto my fingertips and massage it into my scalp, mainly focusing on the hairline and top of my head. I found this to be the quickest way to apply it evenly. I was losing a lot of hair for a few months before starting the serum and noticed my hair was a lot less dense. I do want to mention that I also started taking vitamins for hair growth around the same time but it was after already seeing results from the serum. I'm sure both played a big part in helping to grow my hair. I have pretty oily scalp so I was worried about the residue but I don't find it uncomfortable or heavy at all. Only thing is I find using the dropper a bit annoying and a bit messy for me so I wish there was an easier delivery system like making it a spray or something.

this stuff works!

I was diagnosed with alopecia areata which is basically a fancy way of saying that stress has caused your immune system to attack your hair follicles and results in moderate hair loss. My main areas of concern are my temples, the very front of my hairline, and the back top of my scalp. I have been using this for over a month now pretty much everyday and you can definitely see where the baby hairs are coming back on my temples and the front of my hair! Even my stylists mentioned it the other day. Using this bottle every day with my shoulder length hair (I do only use it on my scalp as directed) and in the 4-5 different areas I bet this bottle will last me at least 2 months. The other thing that I love about this serum other than the fact that it actually works and is very affordable is that it does not weigh down my fine thin hair nor does it leave me with an oily scalp which is an issue I have already. I can style my hair and you can't tell that I have the serum in it. I can't recommend this serum highly enough. If you have hair loss especially because of stress or environmental issues please give this a try. I will say that I did notice my hair regrowth slowed/stopped when I did not use this for 2 weeks but I did not loose any extra hair and what I had grown back stayed. I do think this is something that you will have to continue to use but it's not as rigid of a regiment as say Rogaine.
