I love my first ever bottle of high coverage shade 2.0 N - bought probably around 2 years ago in London and only almost used up now as I only need a tiny bit each time (a little goes a long way). After 2 years the formula is still thick and creamy, highly pigmented but not cakey. But I didn't mind as it was so cheap and it's always a risk to try a new foundation, even if it is supposed to be the same shadeSo I bought my second bottle of Coverage again in 2.0N, again from KaDeWe in Berlin (the only shop I can find in Berlin that stocks the Ordinary foundation). But when I got home and compared it to my existing bottle, it's shades lighter and also much runnier/watery (much like the Serum version I tried). See photos – the left bottle/top shade on arm is the first Coverage 2.0N I bought, the right bottle/bottom shade on arm is my second bottle of Coverage 2.0N. I’ve taken pics with and without.Reading the reviews on here, I can see others have had this same issue with subsequent bottles of the same shade and product but Ordinary insist they haven’t changed the formula. Could it be that as foundation ages it gets darker, due to oxidation or something similar? Although I’ve never found this to be the case with any other foundation I’ve used for years, it usually just gets cakier.I had the same product inconsistency issue with the Glycolic toner, which I had been using for years with no problems. Then suddenly my latest bottle burns my skin every time I use it, but Ordinary again insist there has been no product change. What’s going on? I’m more disappointed than anything as Ordinary has always been my favourite, fail safe brand but if the products differ all the time it’s like buying the lottery (I’m still going to buy another bottle of the Glycolic acid though just to see if it was just a dud bottle I got...)

I thought I found my holy grail of foundations. Some say the texture is strange, I found it was perfect for my skin- it made my skin glowy and dewy, without the cakey feeling. And the skin match was great. Also great value for money. BUT.After just 2 weeks I noticed my skin was getting worse. Clogged pores, lots of whiteheads appearing, more bumps and texture to my skin. It started getting to point even my mom commented - 'You always had such nice skin- what is happening?'It was the foundation. I haven't changed anything in my makeup/skincare routine or diet. It's not for everyone.And it was dissapointing coming from a brand I thought will make my skin better.

When The Ordinary foundations came out, I began by trying the serum foundation in 2.0N. It was a perfect match for my skintone but a bit too dewy for my oily skin. No matter how many touch-ups with powder I made during the day, it would get shiny again. However, I was impressed with the coverage from the serum foundation and felt that it allowed my skin to breathe. I just didn't like the glow. The Coverage foundation is AMAZING. It melts beautifully into my skin. I am using 2.0N and the colour match is perfect. It makes me look healthy and gives my skin a gorgeous airbrushed effect. I do not use any primer with it. I simply apply it after applying The Ordinary serums and Natural Moisturising Factors. For blush, I use a cream stick blush by Hourglass, followed by a few pats of NARS Translucent Light Reflecting Setting Powder (Pressed) for a natural look or Shiseido Invisible Silk Pressed Powder for more staying power.I am HOOKED on the Coverage foundation. It is so beautiful and affordable! Please never change it!!
