Honestly I was hesitant on purchasing this clay towel! I went and pulled the trigger and could not be happier! It has exceeded my expectations. Used it to Devon my fathers truck and then slap some Q2M Wax before vacation and the truck still is glowing! 10/10 recommend.

The Ultra Clay Decontamination Towel is excellent for removing contaminants from your vehicle. I prefer this towel over a clay bar. You can’t go wrong with anything from the RAG COMPANY I own most of their rag towels for washing cleaning and drying.

Amazing results

I was skeptical but the results speak for themselves. Absolute minimal marring (won't find a product that will scratch the paint less) & incredibly effective. Seems durable but time will tell.

An excellent modern way to clay!

I am a weekend warrior detailer. I fully detail our family vehicles in the spring and fall and perform maintenance details in between. I mechanically clay our vehicles every spring and fall … following a chemical iron and tar de-contamination. The 12”x12” size of the towel reduces the time it takes me to clay our vehicles. The towel also can be folded over twice to provide 4 nice-sized square surfaces to use before needing to rinse / clean the towel. This makes claying a vehicle much faster compared to having to re-knead a traditional clay bar much more frequently. Folding the towel over twice also provides nice padding between your hand and the vehicle’s paint … while maintaining an appropriate tactile feel of how the towel is removing the contamination off a vehicle’s paint. The towel also is easier to hold and handle than a traditional clay bar. It does not slip out of my hand … thus enabling me to clay areas that can be hard-to-reach using a traditional clay bar. And, if I were to accidently drop the towel, it is very easy to rinse any potential contaminants off the cloth and begin re-claying a vehicle. Traditional clay bars should be tossed into the garbage if you drop them. This towel appears to be long-lasting. I have used it on several of our vehicles and it has remained in like-new condition. But, I take care to protect all of my cleaning tools (in order to extend their lives and performance). After each use of this towel, I spray the clay media side of the towel with Super Clean (diluted 10-part Super Clean to 8-parts water), hand rub this surface, rinse the towel with warm (not hot) water and let the towel air dry. When the towel is dry, I re-roll it and store it in its original container.Cons: I only have very minor cons … that really are not cons but rather cautions in using the tower. The towel needs to be primed (broken in) before its first use … so be sure to follow the product instructions of breaking it in on a glass surface. And, be sure to inspect surface of the towel before and during use … to ensure that it is free of contaminant that can mar your vehicle’s paint. The towel has a slight tack feel to it during use … but, to be fair, the towel is a fine clay tool designed to remove contaminants off of paint and glass. I find that liberally using clay lube significantly enhances the performance of the clay towel and reduces the risk of paint marring. All of these cons are more than offset by the towel’s performance, speed in getting the claying process completed, ability to re-use it if dropped onto the ground (after properly washing any possible contaminants off the towel) and expected longevity of use … all compared to using standard clay bars.Bottom Line: I highly recommend this product. Clay towels have been a game changer for my claying process … for all the reasons that I mention above. Having bought and used the Optimum Ultra Clay Towel, I will never go back to traditional clay.

Clay-tastic!

Not sure why it took me so long to get this but am so glad I managed to get my hands on it. Simply put this towel is an absolute beast. Removes decontamination with ease leaving a silky smooth glass like finish without any marring. Non slip, easy to manoeuvre with its ergonomic grip making it a breeze to get a car done. Best of all it’s reusable even if you drop it on the ground. The perfect tool for the perfect prep!

Does what it's supposed to!

Quick and easy clay before spray waxing. I wouldn't use this over traditional clay before polishing however. Overall it does what it's supposed to do!

Excellent For Decon

Used this today and was very happy with the experience. Great size when folded twice, giving four surfaces to use before rinsing it off. Lubricated with clay lube and iron remover made this Decon a breeze.

Excellent!

I used this with DIY Iron remover. This clay towel feels a lot softer than the clay scrubber (same Rag Company brand) which gave me a bit more peace of mind. With this method, I can use less product. I also did a test where I sprayed iron remover and clay vs just spraying iron remover. The combination of spray and clay gives better results where the purple bleeding is less after rinsing and re-spraying, the surface after that feels smoother as well.

Fast claying your car

Not too bad for claying your car for medium contamination. Definitely helps with a good clay lube. Really easy to clean and reload which speeds up the claying process. Dropped it on the ground a couple of times, rinse and away you go.

So far, so good, but...

I did my first claying job two days ago and it didn't seem to leave any readily visible marring on my blue metallic paint - I was very impressed and pleased that I didn't need to follow up with polishing. Folding it twice over gives a nice sized square with lots of padding between your hand and paint. I felt it was very tactile - I could feel and hear the contamination coming off. I used P&S Absolute diluted 1:128 as a lubricant.WARNING - do not use in conjunction with bug/tar remover. I needed to tackle some stuck on tar, so I figured combining the the towel with the remover would help... it ended up ruining the towel. It is now sticky and doesn't glide over paint, even with lubricant.
