Processing is a game of terrible democracy. Aliens have conquered Earth, but that's not the worst of it. As a survivor, you've been enslaved to figure out who gets "Processed," "Probed," and "Freed." There's one more wrinkle, the Aliens think cows are people too. The Confederated Alien Overlords (or CAO's) demand you work to appease them all, but since they all want different things that will be tough. Your goal is to have the most victory points (VPs) by the end of the game (three rounds) by appealing to different alien agendas each round.

I received this game in exchange for my fair and unbiased review. I was excited when I ordered this game months ago for a Christmas gift and now I have my own copy. This game has two versions to play and comes with a through set of instructions. My family had a little trouble catching on the first time we played it, but by the third time it was pretty easy. It kind of reminds me of other mystery games that you have to guess who did it, but having it take place at the Overlook Hotel is awesome! If you enjoy board games that require a little thought, this is your game.

The Shining Cooperative Board Game encourages teamwork and highlights social judgement skills. The game depicts several aspects from the movie. Game board, cards, movers and tokens are designed with high quality materials. The 237 Hotel keychain resembles a real hotel keychain! Read instruction booklet thoroughly and organize game pieces prior to playing this game. Game can be played successfully with 2-5 players. Have fun playing the Shining Cooperative Board Game.

First of all the game is really well made. It's not flimsy like some others we've had in the past. The pieces are sturdy and designed for many years of play. The graphics are really cool. I love that both sides of the game board have great graphics (even though you only play on one side.) The circles you punch out are very easy and nothing tore.It isn't a quick and easy game to start playing right away. There are 10 pages of rules! We played it for a little while last night, but I think it will take a few more times with the rules handy to remember just what we need to do. The game plays similar to the movie. You can imagine the characters and the different settings/scenes while you play it.I know once we get the hang of the game, it will be much for fun!

If you are a fan of the movie The Shining then you need to get this game. The game has imagery from the movie so that's pretty fun for fans. It also has a Room 237 keychain. The game includes the Game Board, 5 Movers, 52 Shining Cards, 16 Event Cards, 5 Role Cards, 68 Willpower Tokens, 15 Health Tokens, 2 Dice, 1 Month Tracking Cube, 1 Room 237 First Player Keychain, and a Rulebook. The game itself is definitely for ages 17+ since it is a strategic type game that takes some finesse learning. It's fun and very enjoyable.
We have family game night several times a month so this was a perfect addition to our collection. The game is for 17+ so it’s really perfect for our family. This a super gift for teens, college kids and families with teens. The game has a lot of levels so it gets you involved quickly. The essential basis is make your way around the hotel, gain special willpower tokens and use them against your Shining cards each round while avoiding surprise attacks. The game keeps you on your feet. It is challenging to win, but between the Shining cards, the hedge maze and dice rolls someone will claim victory.
When I first received this game I was a little skeptical about how fun it would be. It seemed a little overwhelming at first but after reading the rules and getting everything set up was pretty fun. Now you do need to have at least three people to play this game, it's not one of those games that you can play with just a couple people. However this is a very fun game and it's a great way to kind of pass the time while you are at home hanging out with your family already. I would love to see more games like this so you can kind of get that little challenge as opposed to some of the easier games have been on the market for
The Shining Cooperative Board Game was something I was excited to get. I have watched the movies a bunch of times since it's been made. So believe me when I tell you that I was totally excited about this board game. I'm not sure it's a game I will play a lot, its kinda difficult to get to know the directions and I had to look it up on you tube to try and understand how to play it. Then even after watching the you tube videos I was still kinda confused. I was hoping to be excited about playing it but after attempting to a few times I gave up playing it with my family for now. It does have potential to be interesting so we will try and play again when life isnt so hectic. The game is well made and doesn't have a cheap feel to it, lots of pieces and I would reccomend ... MoreThe Shining Cooperative Board Game was something I was excited to get. It has potential for great fun with a group of people so I would reccomend the game.
My family and I had a great time playing The Shining board game. We recently bought this game as a spur of the moment decision. We happened to see it while going through the game section and I had to grab it. My youngest son is 16 and none of my kids had previously seen the movie. We first played as a team, learning the game and then played with the corrupted person. The game was enjoyable both ways. It is a fast paced gameplay. All players are on a team trying to last 4 months in the Overlook hotel. Each month is only 3 rounds or less so there is very few moves before the month is over and the shining happens. You have to have collected enough willpower to not become possessed and attack your teammates. The corrupted player acts as your teammate but tries to cause you to die.We had a great time playing and I'm sure we will play this randomly. I wish there was more to do in this game or that the rounds were longer. There are only 3 or less card drawn per month (some of which cause the month to end). There is not enough willpower tokens to move though many rooms at a time. Some cool things are the instruction are topped with the iconic book page and there is a 237 room keychain.I think it was a good purchase
My family and I love playing this game. It does take a bit to get the hang of playing the game but once you do, it's a great, fun game. It's about a suspenseful journey of cooperation, deception and terror. Everything you need is included, even the instructions but you can also watch youtube to help you faster. It's for ages 17 and up and for 3 to 5 players. All of the images and components are from the movie. It's a great game to add to game night, just keep away from children due to small pieces.
The Shining is a board game based off the move The Shining. You get to go back to the hotel in the winter when it is closed . You go there alone but you are not really alone. You get to visit all the rooms in the hotel and its a pretty cool scary game. My husband and I have had a few fun nights playing this game because he loves the movie. It can be pretty scary too. We had hours of fun playing it and can't wait to play it with our friends. It will immerse you in the hotel and you have to go through each room and face another new terror to over come. You have to battle over a hotel that wants to keep you there forever. You can play 3 to 5 players when you play. There is a lot of rolling the dice , getting the chip and seeing if your are possessed. Its a fun little way to pass the time when you are bored.
