We have tried the Keralan curry in the Spice Tailor range and have enjoyed it immensely, today was the turn of your Southern Pepper Curry. OMG!!! it was just so good, I added a big handful of spinach towards the end and cashews as suggested with the spices, it was then served with basmati rice. I have never been a fan of packets and jars to make meals, preferring to make from scratch but two new knees in the last 6 months have meant that I cant stand for long periods. However even though I am now healed and pretty active I will continue to use your sauces because they are just so good. Unfortunately we are unable to get all of the range at our local Sainsburys so I shall have to do some searching for the other varieties. I really enjoy the ease of the spice tailor range. Cooking with them is simple, and the flavours are authentic. This one is wonderfully tangy with a kind of almost citrus sweetness alongside notes of cinnamon & clove. A proper restaurant texture too. Really enjoyable.

Cooked with chicken mince. Sauce lacks flavour. There are better Spice Tailor sauces for chicken, like Keralan Coconut Curry, Mangalore Roasted Coconut, Fiery Goan Curry etc. One thing to note, is that the sauce says to add 250g of meat or veg. This is impractical. Many people will be cooking more quantity than that.
Another great curry kit from Spice Tailor - very quick and easy to use. I made it with mushrooms and tofu and it was delicious! Full of flavour, fragrant and aromatic. Decent heat (but not too hot), I really enjoyed it. Excellent quality, would recommend
This Southern Pepper Curry was my first Spice Tailor recipe kit, and I loved it. I fancied giving it a try after seeing it in Sainsbury's. I followed the simple instructions and used diced turkey. I served it with riced cauliflower rather than plain rice. Tasted wonderful. I'll try some of the other kits.
I’ve been using the Southern Pepper kit for quite a while now and I keep thinking it’s my favourite kit…but then I love all the Spice Tailor kits. The Southern Pepper has loads of flavour and this is what you notice about it, not whether it’s hot or not. That’s true with all the products though really. You are left with fantastic after flavours with every mouthful. You can use what you like as your main ingredient but if you want a low cost very tasty change from meat I recommend you try Paneer. I’m also loving adding a splash of cream to my plate recently …delicious.
One of my favourite brands. I've tried other well known brands and none of them taste as authentic as spice tailor. The pepper curry brings a nice blend of spice, pepper and tomato. Perfect with any meat, veg and bread. Just like a takeaway / meal out. Would buy again !
I think I'm missing the point of this product. You get a couple of bags of sauce and a bag of spices. The taste is great, but by the time you've added whatever you're using for your protein and the sauces and then the spices it's not much different from if you just bought the ingredients separately and bunged them in a saucepan. I guess it saves a bit of time, but it's not that much of a shortcut really. I added extra onion too because I felt it needed it and if I ever did again I'd probably top up on the veg side of things too. I don't think I'd do it again though. I just don't see the point, but maybe I'm just not getting something.
I agree with the other reviews that feel this is quite a bland curry. Not much spice or flavour. There are better options in the Spice Tailor range. I appreciate the ingredients are simple, excluding the sunflower oil which is inflammatory to the body. I would not repurchase.
