I love the way the author writes. Her style of writing is very eloquent and well thought out. In the beginning it's not quick. It takes some time to get accustomed to reading the book.

Great book. Author did a lot of research to write this fictional account about characters entwined in the holocaust from past to present ... Reading it breaks your heart to think that such evil could be committed against fellow peoples and whether forgiveness could be granted to those who committed such atrocities.

The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult is a beautiful book that captures the emotional and physical trauma that the Holocaust had on everyone. Written by three different narrators; a jewish middle aged woman, who was never directly involved in the Holocaust, a Holocaust survivor and an officer of that regime, the reader can see the changes that the main character goes through while hearing both sides of the story. Beautifully written, equally captivating and traumatizing, this book makes you actually feel as if you were going through the same traumatic experiences as the characters in the book. Not to be read by the faint hearted or overly compassionate, this book left me dazed and mind numb for days.
