The story may not be very deep, but that's never what Mario was about. Mario's primary focus has always been about fun, and that's exactly what this movie delivers! The entire movie is a exciting, visually stunning and very funny from beginning to end. It's a pure love letter to Mario fans, full of references, easter eggs and sticks very closely to the source material despite the celebrity cast that differs from the games. If you're a Mario fan, this is a must own! The special features are a fun watch, but honestly wished it went a bit more in depth into the creation of the movie and maybe even included deleted scenes. However, I enjoy the movie itself so much, that it's not enough doesn't take points away for. Still highly recommend it!

the whole release of this movie was a HUGE blunder.. the ‘special’ star package was never available, then it was releasing in 2050.. then it was ‘unavailable’, sold out… and now… it’s been taken down! what a mess! and because i was waiting for these guys to get it together, i missed out on the special edition from other retailers Target and Best Buy.. this will be the first and last time i hold my breath for Wal-Mart to figure it out.. even the kids working in the store had NO idea what was going on.. nobody has any clue, and that’s the frustrating part. the movie is pretty good, but the dvd release was/is a total disaster

Having played almost every game my entire life I went in with high expectations and came out beyond pleased with how they made this movie and I was skeptical at first when they first announced it. Chris Pratt was an odd choice at first, but he did a great job as did everyone else. The animation was beautiful as always when it comes to Illumination movies. Universal has an excellent track record when it comes to their 4k releases and this one is no different, the HDR makes the film look even better. Great audio that sounded almost as good as it did in the theater . I did buy this on release day so I paid full price but if you are willing to wait I highly suggest picking this up if you're a Mario fan I can't wait to see the sequel.

The personalcaveats are language choice and the digital download. It’s always great to have a good selection of languages for accessibilty, but sometimes even to just hear the VA talent of other languages is great too. I was hoping to hear the Japanese cast, but I guess since the movie didn’t yet play in Japan when this dvd set released so Japanese wasn’t/isn’t available as a language. The second caveat would be digital download for mobile devices. The perfect movie for any Super Mario Bros fan. Even if you haven't consistently played all the Mario games there's something about this movie for everyone to enjoy. The all-star cast does a phenomenal job at bringing the characters to life. Jack Black absolutely steals the show as Bowser. Chris Pratt does a great job as Mario. And Anya Taylor-Joy is great as Peach. The story is simple enough; Bowser is trying to take over everything, plus marry Princess Peach. Mario is a plumber from another world who joins up with Peach to save his brother Luigi and the world. What we get is a great adventure fueled by fun and nostalgia. Perfect what for the entire family.

Being an 80's baby/90's kid, I was gun-shy about another Mario movie given the last attempt at one from my childhood. However this movie was awesome. A little short by todays movie standards, but that's because the movie doesn't waste much time with origin stories and explanations. A lot of Nintendo content and characters make an appearance in a short period of time but they don't feel forced. Movie is excellently paced and Jack Black is hilarious as Bowser. If you are a BIG fan of The Super Mario Franchise With Nintendo, you are definitely going to love this movie! Its very colorful and has very nice high Resolution graphics. The audio is fantastic when it comes to explosions and water sounds etc using Dolby Atmos. Now when it comes to the story plot, i do feel like they could have done better and i will not talk about the choice of voice actors chosen to play the characters. Im rating my review on the Graphics, vibrant colors and audio sound. Anyways i hope my review helps you make the purchase of this movie. Its definitely a great movie to add to any collection whether movies or the Franchise its self.
