Good book
Research material regarding my health.
For those taking statins, this is a must read; written by a medical doctor with relevant experience in the field of heart treatment.
My aunt's doctor wanted to put her on a statin following a recent heart attack. The drug companies are now marketing medicines for off label use, and this is no exception. In fact, statins are the number one selling drug in the world. It is now being marketed to healthy people with elevated cholesterol levels. Dr. Roberts addresses all these issues and picks apart the studies the drug companies use to convince us the drugs are safe and effective. At the very least, know the difference between relative risk and absolute risk reduction. She does a great job at explaining this, and the results may surprise you.
Highly recommended for those who want to be fully informed about how drug companies put profit before your health by suppressing vital information. At times repetitive and full of statistics but bottom line is don't trust what the drub companies advertise.
Great information!
Firstly, it's not easy to read, as the letters are too small (fine printing!). Secondly, it's a sort of beating around the bush, the book talks at length about irrelevant issues.
Valuable information for all women.
