Look, I already beat this game on my Xbox Series X. Since the PS5 upgrade is coming out on December 14th, I decided to buy the game again but on a different system so I can enjoy the upgrade that way. This game is phenomenal. If you're looking to escape reality and fully immerse yourself in a story that'll take you away from your real life pain then this is the game for you. I love it so much. I'm looking forward to the next-gen upgrade and beating this game again. Thanks for reading. I hope this helps with your purchase. Oh, and buy the game!!!!

I mean you’d have to really put both versions in front of you in order to be able to tell. Even if you were to do so (you actually can by watching those comparison videos on youtube), the difference is not that significant to be worthy of the average person’s concern. This is still a very pretty game on the Switch. There are occasional crashes but that doesn’t happen too often. In fact, I remember this game crashed a few times on the PS4 too. I’m a bigger Witcher fan now that I played this game on the Switch. Just in time for the Witcher series debut on Netflix in a few more weeks.

Exactly how I remember it

This game hasn’t aged well in my opinion. The PS5 version looks and plays well. The medieval musical score actually pulses through the remote in ways I haven’t experienced in a PS5 game yet. It has very bloated gameplay components. There’s crafting, alchemy, repairing weapons, armor, and different gameplay buffs. All of this needs to be micromanaged and utilized. It gets easier as the game goes on. As someone who dumped over 100+ hours when it first came out, I was still overwhelmed when starting the PS5 quest all over again.Combat still feels “off.” It takes some getting used to, but even after that, it feels way behind other games in the genre. I would’ve liked to see CDPR upgrade its battle system. The Witcher 3 isn’t a bad game by any stretch. For some gamers ... MoreThis game hasn’t aged well in my opinion. I enjoyed the Witcher 3 way more the elder scrolls. After playing games like elden ring, and horizon forbidden west, The Witcher 3 just feels slightly antiquated. Perhaps I don’t have the patience or time to play through a game like this anymore. All in all if you want an open world, immersive adventure with an endless amount of things to do and explore, then you will love this. If you want a more simple open world game, then don’t play this.At the end of the day, I still love the Gwent card game and travelled to every corner of the map to upgrade my card deck.

Game of the Decade? Yes.
25 October 2021

This is game of the year for good reasons. The additioanal DLC included in this version are independently quality experiences on their own, and the "Heart of Stone" DLC is arugably the best gaming experience I've had in ANY game. The point I like the most is that the character development and storyline are highly driven by the choices you make, and as silly or goofy as some of my choices have been, they don't feel out of character in a way that makes me feel like I've messed up. You really get a hand in developing Geralt's story and it feels right, no matter what nice or cruel options you choose. That said, the walking controls might are a bit iffy, especially combined with the unforgiving fall damage, but just be careful around cliffs and you should be all good.

Its a well made game. I was coming from BOTW and looking for a good openworld replacement. Sadly this just didnt measure up. Its a good game on its own but I just couldnt get into it. Plus im not a fan of the gore. Dead babies coming after you and people hanging from trees everywhere you look. With BOTW I found myself looking forward to playing it. This game however not so much.. It has a steep learning curve. There are all sorts of potions and stuff you can learn to make but the gameplay doesnt really emphasize it so you end up collecting a bunch of items with no driver to use any of them. So pretty much you are walking around from one objective to another with a little bit of slashing monsters every so often. I just dont get this game and all the fan fair. Massive game, don't get overwhelmed
28 December 2022

I must admit I haven't finished the game yet, but that's for a good reason: IT'S MASSIVE.If you're like me that gets easily distracted by side quests or just roaming around, it may take couple centuries to finish this game. It's not an easy game, you need to think how to fight each monster and take advantatge of the "magic" you have, but between one fight and the next, you can enjoy a wonderful land and help villagers along the way (for a fee, of course). All in all, the game is gorgeous and with all the extras, it can get you busy for months.

There is absolutely nothing I can say about The Witcher 3 that hasn't already been discussed or admired since its initial release in 2015. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most critically acclaimed and praised games not just of this generation of gaming, but of all time. Hundreds of hours of gameplay; dozens and dozens of memorable and unique characters; the deep, fine-crafted gameplay; the choices you must make; the beautiful, living world. I could quite-literally go on and on. Essays and countless discussions on the complexities and sheer brilliance of CD Projekt Red's RPG have been written for years now. Now, in a shock to the entire gaming community, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can be played on the Nintendo Switch. It would be understandable to immediately think the port would be bad. A game of this magnitude should almost be impossible on the Switch. Not only has the entirety of the game been ported onto the Switch, but so has all of its features and DLC. Did I mention the game runs surprisingly well? It's unfathomable; an actual miracle of game development. To be able to play the entire, complete game on-the-go is a spectacle given to us that absolutely should be saluted and admired.Of course, this obviously comes at a price. Graphically, it's a significant downgrade compared to its other console counterparts, let alone the PC version. On the Switch, your max FPS will be 30, with the graphics running 720p at the maximum. My personal experience so far has been in handheld mode, and there are certainly some specific details that are noticeable if you're like me and have played the game elsewhere. For example, aside from the resolution and FPS downgrades, the world will be less populated with NPCs and some parts of the environment will load on-screen as you traverse through the world. These "issues," or whatever you prefer to call them, are very common in Switch ports, unfortunately, so perhaps these should be expected in a game of this caliber. And yet, the game still runs fantastic. Nothing in the gameplay is missing, and the game plays very smoothly regardless of the downgrades made. It's almost unbelievable, but instead it's the beautiful reality we get to have. I haven't even mentioned the cloud saves, the surprising amount of graphical options available, or the fact that the entire game is on the 32GB cartridge. No heavy downloads required, unlike mostly every other major port on the Switch.Simply put: The Witcher 3 on the Nintendo Switch is a miracle; a beautiful, well-deserved one. If you own a Nintendo Switch, this is a masterpiece that should be a part of your library.

One of the Best of the Generation

To call this game genre-defining would be an understatement. Combat design, world design, and quest-design from this generation of games all take notes from The Witcher 3.I would consider myself an avid Witcher fan, having played each of the previous games on PC. This game picks up without having to teach new players too much about the lore, but offers returning fans a way to move their own story forward into this world.Without spoiling anything story related, just be prepared for a epic tale that can be fairly complicated at times. There are many political factions and I honestly recommend having a printed map of the region next to you as geography is actually important. On the gameplay side, you have the option of swords, a crossbow, and your "signs" which ... MoreTo call this game genre-defining would be an understatement. There are many political factions and I honestly recommend having a printed map of the region next to you as geography is actually important. On the gameplay side, you have the option of swords, a crossbow, and your "signs" which are basically magic. These all flow together very nicely and feel similar to Shadow of Mordor. It is isn't quite as fast as that game or the Arkham series, it takes a more grounded approach, but it makes each encounter legitimately dangerous, especially on higher difficulties. This mechanics based combat, however, makes exploration a thrill as higher levels monsters can still be beaten early on with a little effort. The world is stunningly gorgeous and diverse. It seems almost unending.Your typical game session might have you following the main quest, then breaking off to a small village on top of a mountain. A side quest there sends you on a multipart adventure that feels almost more important than main quests in other games. After you've completed a few quests, you might take on hunting assignments to clear out monsters and along the way stumble into an underground fighting ring. The point is, you're never out of content to enjoy yourself with. If there are any negatives about the game, it is that the "feel" and movement of the game can take a while to get used to. It is heavier than other games and some even call it sluggish. The best comparison would be Mad Max or Dark Souls.Bottom line, the game is amazing and you'll be able to sink a hundred hours into the main game before even touching the expansions. These are full-fledged sequels of game branded as DLC. Both of the expansions build upon the lore, add new levels and gameplay mechanics as well as amazing new environments to explore. If you haven't already, pick up The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt as soon as you can

Secondly, the gameplay is Awesome and rich, and precisely implemented to exploit the witcher's abilities and test the players' approaches and playing styles. Thirdly, the choices and their consequences; this was a brilliant way of approaching the game by basically saying that there's no moral high ground here; you are a person who has traded. A traveler who was traveling along the journey and got to make choices that will benefit you or others the most and have to learn and live with your choices' consequences. I liked that way more than the ultimate good character or the justified villain, Aka the usual approach to videogame stories. Fourthly, the DLC's can easily be stand-alone games story-wise. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are too good to be complimentary; the story is marvelous and rich and tragic, which shows us how witcher's choices can come to haunt them. Finally, this game is a work of art, and every gamer shouldn't deprive him/herself of such a wonderful and rich experience.
