I wasn't in pain & didn't know I had it. Effectively the tension had built up, running up into my neck & jaw & it was this tension which was related to the tinnitus.I was working on it on my own with stretching, general relaxation & stress management which was making a difference but after my brother bought a theragun, decided to give it a go.I can say that after a few days of using the theragun 2x a day (as I get up & go to bed), the effects have simply been life changing. For the 1st time in months I am now getting sustained periods of silence & any fellow sufferer will understand the relief that provides.Again, this is my own experience but if like me, you have not found an answer to your somatic tinnitus through ENT, nasal sprays etc, you may want to give this some consideration.

In addition to the attached standard ball, three additional attachments are included in the package: a dampener, a micro-point and a thumb attachments made to treat different body areas. I had to learn to apply quite a bit of force to remove the attachments. The first time, I was afraid I was going to break it but I got used to it in the end. Barely a half hour charge and the battery was full and my Theragun Prime was ready to go.It can be used with or without the Therabody app. Personally, I like the app; it provides useful recovery and preventive routines, and also good demos. You can establish your own routine right in the app. It connects through Bluetooth and it has been reliable. I’ve been using the Theragun Prime daily to alleviate my lower back, all the other pains creeping up from time to time. So far, it’s been effective and the provided routines in the app have helped in preventing additional pain discomfort. The minimum setting is my favorite setting and quite powerful, but it can be set much higher depending on your needs. I like the fact that it is not very noisy even at higher settings. Using it everyday for an average of 10 minutes a day, the battery lasts quite a long time. I choose to charge it weekly.Overall, the Therabody Theragun Prime has been performing solidly on a daily basis. It has really helped me alleviate my chronic pains and surely has helped prevent more discomfort. If I take good care of it, I’m confident it will last a long time, and I would recommend it to any athletes, active individuals and those in need of pain relief and prevention.

My wife and I mostly used the dampener and the standard ball, and I have used the thumb on her back several times to loosen up knots and work on pressure points with wonderful results. And the results have been fantastic. Over the course of a work week, my poor wife’s calves become extremely tight and sore, due to all the walking and standing she does at work. She’s constantly having to do special stretches to try and loosen things up at the end of the day and get rid of the soreness, but it is always back the next day. She began using the Theragun for five minutes on the low setting on the back of her calves with the dampener attachment, and what a difference it has made! The sore and achy muscles disappear and she doesn’t have to sit down and rest her legs as soon as she gets home. She’s also found that the soreness has lessened as she has used the Theragun. For her back, the thumb attachment has been excellent. She has these knots that develop, particularly on her upper back near her shoulder blades, that results in a sore upper back and can affect her sleep. She’s been using the thumb attachment to loosen these knots up (I actually end up applying it for her to reach them), and she’s found that she gets better sleep. The standard ball attachment provides a very relaxing massage, and at the end of a long week really does help the tensions disappear. I’ve found that applying the Theragun with a light touch on the shoulders where they connect to the neck has been extremely effective with lessening tension and stress. The app on occasion suggests a course of massage treatment that is very beneficial, such as one focused on an overall back treatment that can be performed by the user (don’t have to have a second person to help). The app suggests what attachment to use, provides video on where to apply, and counts down with a timer for each part of the back.I do have a couple of beefs with the Theragun. First, using the app requires the user to input personal information and create an account with Therabody. There should be the option to use the full capabilities of the app without having to create an account and providing personal information. Second, the app is not real user-friendly when it comes to selecting treatment protocols. There are suggested treatments that pop up in the app, but searching for the treatment that we might want at any given point was difficult for us. Instead, we ended up just ā€˜freestyling’ since we couldn’t find a treatment protocol that we wanted. And third, the Theragun does not come with a power supply/wall plug to charge it, just a USB C to USB C cord. I don’t have any spare wall plugs/PC ports with a USB C port, so I was having to charge the Theragun with a plug/cable intended for other electronic devices. Not a big deal, but I had to unplug things just to charge the Theragun. A wall plug included in the box would have alleviated this issue. Or at least one that was USB A to USB C.But overwhelmingly, the Theragun is a great device. We are just using it as a couple of amateurs, looking to relieve the aches and pains of long work weeks and the tensions that come with life, and it has really impressed us in use. Highly recommended.

[Rewarded Review] Exactly what I needed to relieve leg pain
2 December 2024

This is my first compression massager, and I must say it does an outstanding job. I pulled a muscle in my leg which led to several weeks of dealing with sciatica. After some research I decided to try the Leragun Prime massager. This device is easy to use. It is lightweight at around 2 lbs. and is designed to allow you to reach most areas of the body. The massager has 5 levels of intensity ranging from 1750 to 2400 percussions per minute. There is a LED that shows the various levels as well as a battery level indicator. The device comes with 4 different replaceable attachments. This new version now comes with a soft sided carrying case which holds the massager as well as the attachments and USB-C cable for charging. The combination of some exercises and this massager managed to eliminate the issues I was having, and I am now not dealing with the pain in my leg. I have since been using this massager to relieve soreness in my shoulders and arms and it just does an outstanding job. At the current pricing of under $200 this is a great product and a great value and I would highly recommend it.

[Rewarded Review] Excellent update to the Theragun
22 November 2024

I've used massagers like the Theragun for myofascial release for quite a few years now. As a hiker, biker, and long time sufferer of tech neck I don't think there's anything better to loosen up exhausted muscles or help deal with muscle and nerve pain. The latest generation of Theragun Prime doesn't set out to revolutionize the proven design, but rather adds a few subtle refinements to the winning formula. The gun itself is a bit bulky, but very well designed. The triangular handle allows you to adopt several different grips to get to all the hard to reach parts of your back without straining anything or having to get assistance from someone else. The triangular handle allows you to adopt several different grips to get to all the hard to reach parts of your back without straining anything or having to get assistance from someone else. The motor is powerful, but surprisingly quiet compared to some of the earlier versions. And a neoprene carrying case keeps the USB charging cable and all the various massage heads well organized. The Theragun app also does a very good job of teaching you how to use each attachment and running you through some basic routines for common issues. Speed can be adjusted manually or controlled by one of many programs built into the app, and once you hit the right spot relief comes almost immediately. As far as maintenance goes, requirements are refreshingly minimal. A small sample of lubricant for the motor's shaft (which does heat up a lot) is included with instructions to apply oil every few months to keep the gun running quietly. The heads are all cast in soft foam rubber which can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. And the gun itself is all hard plastic and rubber, so keeping it clean of sweat or worse shouldn't be an issue.Overall, this is an easy recommendation for anyone looking to address persistent muscle pain or hurry along their recovery after athletic activities but particularly for people new to massage guns. The adaptable grip and the app's guided routines eliminates most of the barriers to entry, and the softer massage heads make it a lot more forging of minor mistakes than other brands which often use hard plastic tips instead.

[Rewarded Review] Good Quality But Bluetooth Issues

The Theragun Prime Massage Gun (5th Generation) from Therabody is an overall good quality massage gun but does have a few issues. Everything else is recyclable cardboard and paper. The Therabody comes already inside the included neoprene case with one of the attachments already installed. Packaging might be a small detail but it is a first impression that matters and encourages using it right out of the box.It arrived with enough charge to do a few rounds of massaging. It uses USB-C to charge and includes a USB-C to USB-C charging cable. There is no brick included and unlike past versions, there is no USB-A adapter head for the charging cable (even though the included booklet indicates there is a USB-A). This is not a big deal as USB-C is becoming the standard for current tech and I have other USB-C cables and bricks, but just something to be aware of if you are still transitioning to USB-C. You do have to make sure you use a higher powered brick as I found that one of my older ones was not enough to charge it. Charging did not take too much time and one charge has lasted me a long time. I have used it almost a week and still have a charge. The overall build of the Theragun is solid and it feels well made. I did notice a strong plastic and rubber factory smell right when I opened it and it still has this smell. It has dissipated somewhat so I am confident it will continue to decrease as it airs out. The Adventure Green color is surprisingly pretty and is a deep neutral green color with rose gold detail. The color makes it seem less clinical and cold. The included neoprene case matches the color of the Theragun and has two interior pockets to hold the charging cord and additional heads.I thought functionally it was going to be more intuitive than it actually was initially. You have to really press hard on the power button and for longer than you think you need to in order to turn it on and off. If connecting with the app, then only a short press is required. I find that it is really difficult to turn it off because the entire machine is vibrating and the power button is not just very responsive. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with hand or finger strength issues unless they are mostly using the app to control. The app is pretty straightforward and easy to pair but I found that there were a lot of bluetooth connection issues. Even with my phone only a foot away, almost every other session has a drop in bluetooth connection in the middle of a very short session. I also was expecting more set programs available or the ability to build your own program from a set of factors. A timer would also be nice to know when to move onto another section if not using a set program.I like that there is a variety of heads included but would have liked more information about each one. There is definitely a learning curve and research required to determine the uses for the heads and where to use the Theragun. I thought the handle shape was great ergonomically and that you can maneuver with two hands if needed. The only part that I found a bit uncomfortable was trying to use it on my back and having to maneuver my arms in different angles to reach. It is a lot quieter than I expected. You can’t really watch tv or listen to music unless at a higher volume but I didn’t find it to be disruptive or annoying. It is a bit heavy though, so might be an issue for those with less strength.Even the lowest level is pretty powerful and does take getting used to if it is your first time using a massage machine like this. It never felt like the machine was struggling to keep up. It also never got warm due to use but I only used it for short sessions under 10 minutes at a time. Overall, this is a good choice but the power button and bluetooth connection are issues that need to be improved.

[Rewarded Review] Great for treating sore muscles if not pricey
21 November 2024

If you work out a lot or regularly participate in a sport (especially for competition), a massage gun is highly recommended for recovery. Likewise, the same can be said if you suffer muscle aches or are recovering from a muscle strain, this can ease the pain in your muscles especially if you have flare ups.I own a Renpho massage gun(nearly 1/3 of the price of the Theragun) that was given to me as a gift so I have the Theragun to directly compare it to. Off the bat, I will say that the Theragun feels better to use - it can pulse at a higher speed when maxed out, and I feel like it can go deeper in massaging the muscles at higher speeds. The massage attachments are also made out of some sort of firm rubber as opposed to the plastic attachments on the Renpho. ...Ā MoreIf you work out a lot or regularly participate in a sport (especially for competition), a massage gun is highly recommended for recovery. Moreover, the handle on the Theragun is better for griping (especially when using it at higher settings) that lets you easily adjust your grip. The tradeoff though is that reaching the back with the Theragun isn't that easy with this model as opposed to the Renpho that has an attachment to extend the handle's length.Operation is simple on both massage guns though the Renpho only has one button to turn on/off and change speeds. The Theragun has three buttons, one for turning on/off and the other two is for increasing or decreasing its speed.I will say that changing attachments on the Renpho is easier. The Theragun you have to exert a little bit more force on the attachment to remove it, but that said it does feel rather secure you won't have to worry about it flying off at higher speeds. You can download a Theragun app (Therabody) to connect to as well (Bluetooth). The app is actually useful since it has various scenarios you can run through to aid recovery. It also has a tutorial for each attachment to help you understand what each attachment is best suited for.The Theragun comes with a USB C cable for charging though keep in mind that it does not have a charger of its own. For $300, a charger should have been included though that's a minor complaint since the Renpho didn't come with its own charger either. At a MSRP of $300, the Theragun is very pricey. Most people can get away with using cheaper massage guns, but if you work out a lot or suffer ongoing muscle aches and strains, it might be worth investing into something of better quality like the Theragun. I don't know how durable or how long this product will last, but hopefully it will be for a good while.

[Rewarded Review] Nicely Upgraded Massage Gun for Those Achy Spots
1 December 2024

Therabody has made a name for themselves in being one of the best in the game for taking care or your body, and their new Prime Massage Gun (5th Gen) is another step at showing they are indeed at the top of the game.PROS:- Unboxing this I immediately loved the design! The Green color is really a luxurious look and the added gold accents is nice as well. The gun is not too heavy and has a nice overall balance to it as well! Setup can be very minimal (just turn it on and go!) or you can connect it via their Bluetooth phone app which is also quite simple.- The Prime Massage gun is pretty straight forward in use! Turn it on with one button, move the intensity level up and down, thats it! I think that ease of use is also a plus.- Another big upside to me is that it ...Ā MoreTherabody has made a name for themselves in being one of the best in the game for taking care or your body, and their new Prime Massage Gun (5th Gen) is another step at showing they are indeed at the top of the game.PROS:- Unboxing this I immediately loved the design! Turn it on with one button, move the intensity level up and down, thats it! I think that ease of use is also a plus.- Another big upside to me is that it charges via USB-C! In a world where more and more charge via USB C, it’s nice to have another item that I carry with me to all charge with the same chord.- The massage aspect it phenomenal! Very nice being able to change the speed on it (in the app you can really focus in on the level) but it does have really nice performance. It has the ability to tenderly handle some muscles yet powerful enough to deal with more stubborn areas.- The handle is also a game changer, being able to grip the gun in various positions really helps and makes it easier to get difficult areas or just not feel awkward while holding it compared to the standard gun handle you see. Seriously, the handle ergonomics really surprised me with how much I liked that feature!- The 4 different tips and carrying case are another big perk! I like the different attachments, the micro-point tip being my favorite, as it makes the massage gun even more versatile and its nice you can carry all the attachments and the gun in one carrying bag together!CONS:- My only downside is that Theragun only lets you use their optional heating and cooling attachment tips to their more expensive guns. It would be nice to be able to buy those for this Prime Gun as well.BOTTOM LINE:- Premium massage guns are well worth the price as they simply perform the best and offer the most recovery for your body and the Theragun Prime 5th gen really showcases that! It’s easy to use, really powerful yet tender, has great versatility with its ergonomic handle and extra massage tips, and has a great battery life. It’s something I have been using everyday and I think a lot of people will be impressed!

[Rewarded Review] Pain Reliever!!
25 November 2024

I constantly suffer from neck and upper back pain. I'm not sure if it's due to stress or something else, but there are times when I wish someone could massage that area for me. The Theragun has been incredibly helpful in alleviating that pain. I also experience aches in other parts of my body, which I’m sure is just a part of getting older, haha. One specific area where I find relief using the Theragun is the femoral head, which connects my thigh to my hip. It might seem like a strange place to use it, but oh my goodness, it feels fantastic! I've also been using it on my husband's feet, and the relief he feels afterward is remarkable. The app is a must-have; it’s packed with tips, music, and routine videos on how to use the Theragun. This app has been extremely useful for me, and I often revisit it to learn how to use the device properly. The speeds are incredibly powerful; even on the lowest setting, it remains strong. While I don’t mind the intensity, a slightly lower setting would be nice. I do feel a little sore the day after using it, but I would rather experience that soreness than be in pain. The Theragun is a bit heavy for me since I have short arms and a petite frame, so after a few minutes, I usually have to put it down.

[Rewarded Review] easy to set up and use, effective

This massage ā€œgunā€ works as advertised. There’s not much to it. It’s about the size of frisbee, roughly speaking, and it fits comfortably in your hand. Out of the box, it was about one-third charged, so I could use it right away. It comes with four heads, each of a different diameter with one of them having small tendrils like a short-hair paintbrush, and each of which is designed to treat a different part of the body and/or a different type of condition. The device works by rapidly moving the attachment up and down in short strokes at a rate, which is adjustable, of around 2,000 cycles per minute. The choice of attachment depends on the size and location of the ache or pain, and both the app and the included user guide give suggestions as to what to use in a particular situation.Yes, like I said, there is an app because there is an app for everything these days. The app is simple to install (you’ll have to create an account, of course—so what else is new), and it communicates with the device via Bluetooth. The app can operate the device in pre-set modes with suggestions for cycle rate and attachment, depending on the type of ache or pain you’re experiencing. But the device can also be operated just fine using the controls on the handle.I want to state right up front that I am not a doctor, so thoughts and opinions expressed here are totally my own and the result of my age and experience with pain in various parts of my body.I see two kinds of pain, short-term aches and pains as a result of exercise or exertion or over-exertion and chronic pain that results from arthritis or other conditions usually associated with aging. I am of the age that I experience both.Regarding chronic pain, a device like this is not going to cure it. The pain might not be curable and rather just have to be managed. That’s something for you and your doctor to discuss. But this device can help manage it. Remember from episodes of The Three Stooges or other classic comedies, when someone has to sneeze and they don’t want him to sneeze, so they press their finger under the nose of the sneezer, and they don’t sneeze? It isn’t just putting your finger under the nose that prevents the sneeze. The idea is that you press heavily against the upper lip, not quite to the point of pain, but enough so that you feel it. This fools your brain. It causes your brain to focus on the feeling on your upper lip, and it loses focus on the feeling that you need to sneeze, so you don’t sneeze.I look at the effect of this massage gun as being essentially the same thing when it comes to chronic pain. Press it up against an achy knee or elbow or shoulder, and the stimulation causes your body to focus on that instead of the nearby pain, and you don’t feel the pain as much if at all. The effect lasts for a while after the gun is removed and your body slowly ā€œcalmsā€ back down, so you will eventually feel the pain again. But it does help. With regard to short-term pain, the effect is the same, but it can help by causing the pain to be diminished as your body slowly heals from the over-exertion. Eventually the source of the pain heals, and you don’t need the massage gun any more. But if you work out regularly or take part in any activity requiring significant exertion, you’ll likely use this regularly, especially as you age.The device is easy to set up and use, and it’s very portable with its own convenient carrying bag that holds all the accessories and the charging cord. But be aware that the charging cord is only USB-C on each end. You will need to provide a separate AC wall charger to charge it. It will probably charge from a computer port, but it would likely take longer.Overall, I think the device could be very helpful to anyone with localized pain caused by whatever reason.
