Have been lusting after a Therm-a-Rest seat for a while so decided to treat myself. It's lightweight and easy to inflate/deflate on the hill, gives far better protection from the ground temperature and conditions than my trusty mat, and adds a level of luxury to extreme picnics. Have yet to test it out in gale-force winds when I think it might need to be carefully managed in order to avoid it blowing away; and it does take up space differently, requiring a minor rearrangement of rucksack contents. Definitely glad I decided to purchase - and am hoping it will double up as a reasonable pillow for our next wild camping adventure.

I bought it to make economy long haul more comfortable but haven't travelled yet. I have trialled it on wooden chairs and a lounge chair that has lost a lot of its cushioning and have been pleasantly surprised at how effective it is. I also have a thermarest sleeping pad that I use when going to motorcycle rallies and this is also remarkably comfortable in my tent even in sub zero temperatures, so I knew they were good quality and justified the price.

I bought this seat pad for daily commuter train travel and it works great. Depending on the circumstances I can either sit on it or wedge it between my shoulder and a window ledge for a very relaxing ride. The firmness is adjustable and it easily rolls up easily compactly. While it does self inflate, it can take a few minutes if it’s been rolled up for awhile or if it’s particularly cold out, so expect to give it a puff or two. It’s about the same width as a chair but not quite as deep, and it can take a little fussing to get it situated just right. The material feels very strong but it’s not what I would call rugged, so I wouldn’t use it on anything abrasive like concrete.

I love the Them-A-Rest product so far ... I am an owner of sleeping pads and Trail and Lite Seats.But I have to lament that all my Trail and Lite Seats have the same problem after some time of use (2 -5 years): Detachment of the outer cover from the inner foam.The Lite Seat is more affected, perhaps because it has less surface area for the adhesive (holes in the foam).Now I would like to test Therm-A-Rest's warranty promise.How should I proceed?Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
Okay, so the vibrant colour would not be my first choice, and the material is a bit on the easy-to-stain side, but I am thrilled with this item. I use it all the time. Very easy to deploy and roll back up, comfortable, and provides seating whenever I need it, whether I want to enjoy some time soaking up some sun, or my medical condition dictates that I must absolutely sit down right now, even if not a perfect spot to do so. Also has been handy as a an impromptu kneeling cushion for cleaning in the house. Would absolutely recommend it.
Had this about a year now. It's a fantastic product. Don't waste your money on camp chairs that are heavy, awkward and fragile. I use it for camping and hiking, this thing is worth its weight in gold. Surprisingly tough and durable. I wouldn't recommend sitting on thumbtacks, but it will take some serious edges or points to puncture this. For me, it's definitely worth the extra $10 compared to the Z-Seat. Simply wash with soap and water when you can to get the dirt and mud off. It's never going to be as comfortable as a chair with poles and a backrest, but the pros are too hard to ignore. It does soak water a little bit, but not much. If it's an issue for you, use a waterproofing product on it and you'll be good to go.
This is the best cushion I have ever had. I use it when I travel for my back in airplanes it rolls down and fits into my shoulder bag/small back pack. I also in my car to support my back and fill in the seat back so that my head is not pushed forward by the head rest. And lastly I use it on hard logs around the camp fire and canoe seats, paddle boards and even kneeling in the garden for these old knees. I have bought one for each of my kids and they too love them.
I’ve used the Thermarest Lite Seat only a handful of times. So far… it’s been a great addition to my pack. Lite, compact and durable. I’ve used it on rocky beaches, rough trail sides and as an extra insulating pad under my feet while winter mountaineering. Worth the weight and space!
As a lucky parent of a high schooler/middle schooler who plays sports, I get to sit on variety of horrible seats that's available in various townships. They are guaranteed to freeze or numb your behind or both. This little handy blowup seat makes sure that none of that happens. It's pretty small and easy to use and feel premium as well. It's no memory foam seat, but if I don't inflat it fully I think it's pretty good.
