I’ve read the reviews, and I know there have been many that this pad has not performed for. But I must be one of the lucky ones. I bought this pad in late 2019. Since then, I have used it on the High Sierra Trail, The entire John Muir trail, and many other overnight and multi day treks. I don’t out rite abuse it, but I also don’t baby it at all! I don’t use the stuff sack, I just stuff it in my pack with my quilt. Most nights it’s inside the tent, but I have used it outside as well. Though I always use a ground cover under it. I sleep directly on it, and my dog has slept on it with me. It has a couple of scratches from him, but no holes. I’ve never had any leaks, or so much as a pinhole. Only negatives are: It is loud af when moving around or when deflating it in ... MoreI’ve read the reviews, and I know there have been many that this pad has not performed for. Also, when wrapping it up in the AM, it doesn’t like to stuff back into the tiny stuff sack. I hate z pads so, overall, it’s easily the best sleeping pad I’ve ever used.

First mattress didn't hold air for more than 4 hours. Returned to Galaxus for a new one. They sent me back the same item claiming that it was fine. Complained again, sent it back. Galaxus finally sent me a new mattress after much convincing. The new mattress still does not hold air overnight. Galaxus refused to take a return and give me my money back.Thermarest is in denial. 7D fabric is just too thin, the air diffuses right through it. They need to discontinue this product, it's a scam. Their other products are outstanding, but not this. You can't sacrifice air-tightness for weight, that's just dumb. Almost everyone is having this problem with the uberlight.Concerning Galaxus: their customer service here was very disappointing (which is unusual).

TLDR: Thermarest make this right! Slow overnight leak, then internal baffling burst within a year (only slept on for 59 nights)Bought it in September 2022 and took it out for 10 nights. No complaints. Not overly loud to sleep on, and quite comfortable. As compact as can be. Very pleased with the purchase!Stored for the winter.Took it out for 23 days in July 2023 - Day 1 I noticed a slow overnight leak, but still inflated enough in the morning that I wasn't uncomfortable. By the end of the the 28 days, the leak was worse, noticed I would be on the ground in the morning.Took it out for a 3 week hiking trip in August 2023, by the last week the internal baffling had burst creating a bubble at the knees. Just wanted my opinion to counterweight all the bad reviews. Have had this pad for a long time, and no issues - but as much as I‘ve read here there‘s one important thing to consider:The Uberlite won‘t be your universally capable do-all primary mat! It‘s not for winter use, tactical, expedition or even for any otger place youd wish for a really rugged mat.Its a mat for certain specialist uses. Carried it on 2-day multipitch climbing and 2-day fastpackibg weekends, where you can accept a certain risk of a flatout for the incredible weight and size.but also just used it tons for camping in fields and for sleepovers indoors really, where its toughness never gets tested.for winter use, remote basecamp or long remote trecks I‘ll always choose x-lite over the Uber.
I have read and watched many reviews about the Uberlite. I'm aware that many people say that it leaks. I am also aware that more people will write a bad review than a good one as they are frustrated with their purchase. There also people that praise the size and weight and mention nothing about it leaking.Well I brought an Uberlite R thinking that there is less chance that I will recive a defective product based on all the "Testing" that Thermarest claimes it does and contrary to all the negative reviews.Well I was wrong.I blew mine up on the fist day1) With a pump to insure no moisture is added.2) in my house to make sure that the ambiant temperature of the air does not change.3) Left it overnight on my dinning room table4) Waited the matrass down with an ... MoreI have read and watched many reviews about the Uberlite. The uberlite leaks strait out of the box in a controlled environment were there is little chance it would get punctured by a candel stick.I now am in the process of exchanging it or seeing if I can get a refund. So I join the club of people that say it leaks on first use and thus it is not reliable.Carl
I'm going into my third season with my Uberlite and it's been a stalwart, reliable piece of my kit since 2021. I've had it on the West Coast Trail (twice), and multiple two and three night excursions over the past two years, with a particularly active 2022. I just had it out for its maiden 2023 trip last week and it was great, as usual. It will be accompanying me again on a solo hike of the West Coast Trail in July of this year (seven days), and I'll be tackling the North Coast Trail for the first time a couple weeks after that (six days). I also plan some shorter local hikes for the months of August and September. Some complaints I see about the Uberlite. 1. It's slippery. I personally don't find myself slipping off the pad during my sleep. I personally don't find myself slipping off the pad during my sleep. I don't have this problem. 2. It's noisy. I see complaints that this pad has a "chip bag" type crinkle when you move around on it. Again, this isn't something I personally notice. If the pad isn't inflated fully I guess there is a slight crinkle to the material. But it's negligible. One thing I have noticed about the pad is that if I'm camped in the same area for more than a day or two (i.e. not breaking camp and moving every morning), the Uberlite does require occasional "top up" of its inflation. Two or three breaths, tops. I can't say whether there's a slow leak somewhere, or if the change in external ambient temperature contracts the air in the pad. In any case it's a minor issue. I get through the night without any problems ... I've never had to inflate it in the middle of the night. It's usually just if the pad has been lying in the tent all day while I tromp around the woods, when I get back it just needs a breath or two to get back up to a firm inflation before I go to bed. Not in any way a dealbreaker in my books. Also, it's wise to pair this with a thin closed cell foam pad if you're planning to be camping on gravel or scree. This is an expensive piece of gear and a light, inexpensive foam pad can protect the inflatable from accidental puncture. All in all I've gotten my money's worth out of this pad, and then some. Highly recommend.
Bought in June 2023:First, I like the pack size, the weight and the pumpsack. When you know how to use the pumpsack the mattress is ready for use in about 2 minutes.I was really happy with the neo-ultralight in the first nights. But the the problem started. I heard in the night a loud blob. I thought I got a hole. But I lost no air or pressure. So I didn't think of anything serious. But almost every the more seams in the headarea bursts/ crackled. The result was, that this area rises more and more and it looked like a inbuilt pillow. But with every night it got worst and after about 3 weeks I couldn't use the mattress any more for sleeping and I had to look for an alternative. Really annoying when you are abroad for a couple of weeks.I will now have to claim the ... MoreBought in June 2023:First, I like the pack size, the weight and the pumpsack. I have three of these in different sizes. My bad for continuing to think they will hold air - and that I must be doing something to cause air loss. Used two on the PCT last year. Both failed. Finally after getting a super small one for a self supported running event (because of the super light weight) and had it YET AGAIN lose air on the first use, I contacted the companydirectly. They required me to send it in for a puncture repair, even though I explained that it failed on the first use—that it wasn't possible for it to have a puncture! I also noted to the company the plethora of reviews on this product that stated the loss of air (and repeated times one has to get up in the middle of the night to blow it back up). They were not willing to look at the issue as being a design flaw. They required me to pay a puncture repair fee and they are now sending it back to me. I have used Thermarest in various forms my whole life with great success. And now this. Shame on you for not owning that you have a product that still needs work. There is potential in this product! My hope is that they will read this and all other reviews stating the same, and actually own that there is an issue and take action. Get on it Thermarest! You are better than what you are showing here. Show us your best.
