I used to get waffle thermals from different stores. Over years, I have found these to cause rashes and even skin peeling especially on my lower calves partly due to my skin type, sometimes the peeling skin even resulted in small cuts.Having found ThermaJohn from searching for thermals and reading of their brand, I decided to try it and got 3 sets. From trying all 3 over 3 weeks, I have already seen the skin problems improve. Wrong packaging, wrong fit, wrong tag, wrong texture, wrong everything. We know, because we have the REAL ones from Thermajohn bought from another retailer. I have personally never owned thermal wear before, but after living in a very cold area for an extended period of time, it was worth a shot! And it did not disappoint! Three key things that this clothing does, and not just for the warp factor. It will stretch to your skin, it doesn’t restrict your body of motion, and is exceptionally comfortable and not itchy. I have own clothes that I’ve had more of a thermal feel to it but they’re very itchy to the touch. I also like the fact that it doesn’t feel like it’s restricting your motion. And for the warm factor, it does an amazing job. It instantly makes it ten degrees different than the ambient temperature. Over 10 years ago, I got a few sets of thermal that was NOT made out of cotton from Japan. I love it so much that i have been for something similar for about 7 years. Everything i have seen in US is too thick, or doesn't block cold. These are perfect and come very close to what i was looking for. The fabric is very soft and stretchy, so it fits well. These thermals block the cold air very well. I am short (5' 4") and Small fits me very well.
I wear Thermal underwear in the winter months and keep the thermostat a little lower. Used to order traditional store brands but they have gotten extremely cheaply made.Tried a couple of brands Thermojohn is so much warmer, sized better and the soft lining makes them more comfortable. I bought my 3rd set last week on Saturday and they were delivered Sunday.(I didn't even know that USPS delivered on Sundays)
This set of long John's definitely is wonderful for multiple purposes. My husband works in a cold climate, so he wears this shirt under his other, and it keeps him warm. It is very soft, and very comfortable. He wears generally a size XL, and it for him they way he likes it to fit, which was a little more fitted. If you want it to be a little larger, then you may need to size up, but really it's intended to go under clothing, so best to choose your true size. He said it felt very durable and comfortable. We are very happy with it. The pants are perfect for him to wear at night when we keep the house very cold, and they would be great for cold days to wear under his pants. Super nice set and I would recommend it totally.

This brand, on the outside, feels like the kind of soft water proof fabric that exercise/activewear clothes are made from, but on the inside, it's super soft fleece-like fabric. It's surprisingly comfortable and I actually prefer it compared to the traditional long johns... The shirt and pants are very stretchy, but fit close/snuggly to your body. They are true to size and will fit under your clothes. If you want or like a looser feel, however, I would suggest sizing up by one or two sizes. The fleece lining is great. I'm 6ft0 175lbs and the Medium feels like it fits me exactly. I do wish the arms were maybe an inch longer but I can still hold them straight out and the sleeves cover my wrists. Not a problem. The length is also good in the pants and long enough to stay around my ankles. Not too shortl ok me some other waffle pattern ones I've bought in the past. I would definitely recommend and purchase again.
These long johns are literally the softest ones I have ever felt. They are extremely comfortable. I got these for my husband to wear during the winter months because he works outdoors all day long. These definitely help keep him nice and warm. They aren't too thick or bulky and other layers of clothing go on smoothly right on top. These do fit very snug. My husband wears a 3 XL in his regular clothing but these I need to size up for him. Just pay attention to the size chart.
I bought these for me AND my husband. We wear the same size. He works outside in construction & we both hunt during fall and sometimes we both layer multiple items to keep warm. These are fleece lined, but not crazy thick. It's enough to keep you warm and toasty without being too hot. It's also the water repellent type fabric which is great! We both love these & I actually ordering more.
